  1. I found some spots on the calves pretty painful, but the lower back / butt was worse. It's not easy but bearable. Got my elbow and a spot near the armpit done yesterday, that was not as bad as I thought.

Don't take this the wrong way as I'm just curious , why didn't you spent the time instead on you're back ?
  2. For a motorcycle jacket it may be worth checking out Lewis Leathers. Great construction & leather, cool lining and tonnes of history.

Their new jeans are also worth a look of you're in the market for some.

That's great if you are in the UK but as he is in the US might be hard to come by .

Iv got the Schott harween and it is great , I think iv posted a picture of it in this thread once before .

  3. to go along with my last post, does anyone have a suggestion as to what suede protector i should use on them? its still pretty rainy here in washington

Not worn suede boots in thirty years , they were the boot choice for my school uniform in the before time . What I did back than was give them a squirt of scotchguard from one of those pressure cans they use for fabric furniture , if I recall it also made a big difference keeping them clean .

  4. As I'm locked into what Iv got now for two years my list will be necessity first over want

1: carhart denim/ leather shopping bags

    2: eat dust vest

    3: imperial dukes

4: Naked&Famous 32 oz ( not sure I'll wear but use as an art piece )

5: samurai ( to see what all the fuss is about )

  5. I need to page through this thread... but looking for ideas on boots.

I am looking for a round toe, no toe cap, brown boot.  No speed hooks, no double outer stitching (like on whites), no Redwings, no OakStreetBootmakers.

I could possibly go with a plain toe cap, but I don't care for all the ornamentation that generally goes with it.

    Thanks for the ideas!

Have you seen " Last&Loom " iv got a pair on order and can review when they arrive .

I'd scroll through the boot comp thread to see a good variety of boots !

  6. The work is done and I´m very pleased with the outcome. It´s a awesome made jeans with a modern fit and super nice details.

Johann is a master on his sewingmachines with an eye for the small details and creative ideas, which make every pair of his jeans special in it´s own way.

The list of the details we made is long:

-Katagami printed selvage pocket fabric (we used this as lining too)

    -selvage pocketdetail

    -selvage buttonfly

    -buttonfly lining with selvage detail

-special pocket construction for more durability

    -Katagami lined yoke

    -Katagami lined coinpocket

    -peek a boo coinpocket

    -Katagami half lined backpockets

    -sewn in to waistband beltloops

-two selvage beltloops for wearing snaps

    -hidden rivets

    -raw copper buttons and rivets

    Nice work .

What name will you be competing with over at HWDC ?

i would love to read more about them and see more photos .

  7. Toes UP!!! Spring cleaning & conditioning the boots that got me through winter:

    Tricker's Malton C-Shade Gorse

    &

    Viberg Loden Green Service Boots

Do you still wear those " Dayton drivers " in your rotation ?

I seen them in your photos in the last submission thread and thought it bad form to ask you about them in that thread .

  8. I'm in the market for a new bike. Need some advice from seasoned riders...

Any opinions on the following options?:

What I really need is something I can commute on all year - through the wet, icy, muddy British winter, I'm used to 60's vespas in London and ran a couple for almost 10 years but wanted a proper bike now that I live in the countryside.

I like the looks of these:

    Moto Guzzi V7

    Triumph scrambler

Are these viable options? Are they going to deteriorate through the winter? Would I be better off with a big modern scooter? These are way more practical but hard to get excited about.

I have the v7 and love it for city commute but those clip ons are excruciating on long rides .

Also if you are short statured you may have trouble straddling as my suspicion it was designed for taller riders .

  9. I'll try father carpenter and bonanza

Coffee game outside of America is like v shitty

Is this you're conclusion or a quote from someone else ?

Iv traveled the states and struggled to get anything that suggests that it was vaigly related to a drink made from a coffee bean , as fran was the one exception , the coffee shops I frequented in India had a better strike rate , iv never been to France however I have been to Tahiti " French Polynesia "and was blessed with great coffee there and like others have already stated New Zealand has a great coffee culture finding it almost impossible to not find a great brew on almost every corner and last but not least my home town of melbourne could possibly rival Italy for a great brew , and that's with my limited travel so I ask you sir having made such a radical claim have you even left the states .

  10. I'm confused , i have no trouble posting pics here if that is what you are referring to FL , what l thought Mega was talking about was the pics to the contestant threads over at DWC forum , if you are indeed talking about over there I'm not finding any smiley faces on the page I'm looking at .

  11. Just noticed that quite a few guys are uploading pics to their threads using the attachments button at the bottom, this is fine but your pics appear instantly bigger if you use the add media button  :)

Sorry to be a noob but is there something that you click that says "add media " cos I'm not seeing it , iv posted a few and used the "select file " option and yes the photos are only thumbnail size and suck .

  12. I didn't think I'd be in the market for new jeans for a while, but I recently lost some weight and the rise on my N&F Spirits was crushing me anyway, so I decided to stop into SENY and check out the SEXI(edit, good catch peacedoff)23, since I remember being bummed out when out I missed out on the SEXI14.  I talked with Thomas and another guy whose name I didn't catch, but they were both really cool dudes, and helped with sizing and all that jazz.  Yeah, it's been said a million times but SE rocks and trying on jeans is so much easier than online ordering.  Anyway, here are the jawns, I got them in size 32.  For reference, I'm 5'-11" and about 170 pounds.

They certainly are slim, and I could've gone with a 33 which would've been TTS, but I don't mind the slim fit since they aren't uncomfortable; it's nice to be able to wear my pants at my waist if you get my not so subtle drift.  The fabric is great and the details are too, plus it's great motivation to keep the weight off.  In terms of sizing I'd go TTS or down 1 if you want a very slim fit.

    Bummed l didn't get a pair of these !!!!!!

  13. That makes me laugh because aren't they all just a gimmic trading off what the original Levi's and others of there time were making , and the irony is that you are part of a trend if you own a pair of raw denim jeans unless of course you were one of the panhandlers that bought a pair of the first batch , also this thread is still being posted on and still on the first page so not sure what you mean by " it doesn't get any play anymore .

I don't have any N&F but they are on my must have list and there are people entering them into the HWDC so they must still be pretty relevant , I think they will be here to stay and that there is plenty of room in the market place for them .
