  1. J40-CH: liking the design. The internal pocket clip together when slung and have zippers on both ends. Very smart. The collarless design really looks different and make for easy layering fx with my J32. Shoulder construction works as advertised.

Any pics? I love the styling on the main site, curious if it looks as good with other outfits. I don't have the money anyway, 1200 for this one seems a bit (extra) high but maybe it'll last long enough I can scrap some coins together :)

  2. Damn the j43 is SIIIICCKKK!!! Waiting for the movie tho :)

The new pants aren't really my thing but they look much better on the dude @ haven and erlsn than the end was trying to pass off

J41 still looks like a pain but it sure looks cool

  3. The j43 is the sickest of the bunch, but when I looked at it at first, all I thought of was the (silhouettes of) actuator and composite jackets from veilance  :blush2:   I don't mean that as a bad thing, just that it's a bit simpler than I'm usually looking for from them.  I like my ACR loaded with pockets (I'd take an ACR version over those anyday anyway)

I'm looking forward to the actual video cuz that dude on the end isn't doing any of those clothes justice  :)

I wanna see how big a pain in the ass the j41 really is... I already have "vehicular concept" with my ej23, @ least that one I can take off and not look like a spaz putting it back on... although surely erlsn will manage to make it look cool even if it's a pain

  4. F nike tech fleece... inconsistent crap and they want way too much for it... Check out the Isaoras TigerPrawn linked above! I picked up a pair in my usual large, they fit just a tiny bit big (so they still have a bit of bagginess around the butt and legs) but the overall profile is excellent and they're super well made :)

I picked them up cheap when they had their 30% off sale, but they're still a good deal @ 125 especially when the nikes are already 100. The taper and the zippers on all the pockets made them too good to pass up.

  5. After re-reading that, I think I came off a bit harsh/nitpicky.  I need to remind myself that I've been wearing ACR shells for the last year and it's not really fair to be expecting similar levels of detail from this jacket @ $250.  For the price, it's an excellent piece of tech with a few experimental touches that I still find I can appreciate even next to a $1200 shell.  :)

  6. Has anybody handled isaora's mac coat in bone? Is the sizing crazy as in other of their pieces?

Also... does it get as dirty as it looks like it would?

Maybe I'll go for the wetworker, @jbob24 have you received it yet? first opinions?

I got my order today :D I didn't go too crazy, just picked up the wetworker jacket and the bonded sweatpant.

I dig the pants, they're an awesome material, very soft and thin. Nice pocket layout, I'm not crazy about the cuffs at the ankle but I'm probably going to cut these into shorts anyway :)

But the jacket! I'm conflicted, I both love and hate it. I ordered my usual size Large and it ended up fitting well, I'm 5'11", 190lbs. More athletic with pretty wide shoulders, it fits me well across the chest and such. Seems like you could layer something reasonably warm under it, but I wouldn't try stuffing any thick sweaters on and then get into it. The silhouette it creates is very nice, almost like a nice leather jacket might. It's super lightweight but has a very nice, rigid structure.

I have no idea what the material is but the DWR is excellent, the outer face feels durable (best I can think of to describe it is similar to some old German surplus Goretex pants I have) and the inner is smooth.   It's thin enough that anything you put in the pockets prints on the outside. The welding is interesting and looks very well done.  They use the welds along with some carefully placed areas of double fabric to give the jacket some rigidity. We'll see how it holds up longterm. Same for the color, I'm certain it'll stain eventually but's a really nice shade of almost pale grey.  Just enough color that I think scuffs and such will blend in but don't get grease or pens on it. I'm wondering about color transfer if you wear a bag that will rub on the back/shoulders or sides.

The hood sucks. It feels like an afterthought and has no structure/articulation other than the tiny brim or any drawcords so it just flops around when it's out or when you put it up. The pockets on the front aren't that great, I really wish they had zips to keep water out, chest pocket is nice but small. I can fit an iphone with a case on in it ok but anybody with bigger phones won't be able to get it in. The sleeve pocket is awful. Its too small for anything that I carry, the phone doesn't fit and the zip is garbage (very hard to open/close). The front jacket zipper isn't very smooth but that may just need some time to break in.

The sleeves and back length are OK if you're just going to be wearing this as a casual coat, the sleeves come down to the middle of my hands, and back comes down to just below where I wear my belt. If you're doing anything active though, there are some real deficiencies. When your arms stretch out in front of you, there isn't enough material or stretch through the back to keep them from popping halfway up your forearms. If you raise your arms up, the coat comes up past the belly button. If you bend down, the back will come halfway up your backside. If you're getting rained on, you're probably gonna get real wet, maybe that's why it's the "wetworker"

Couple other things I noticed that I don't like, there is welding throught the coat but then at the sleeve articulation, they're stitched and not taped on the inside, there is some stitching reinforcement throughout the coat and none of it has taping on the backside.

I realize I just typed a shitload and most of it was negative, but I actually do like this coat. It just feels like a first draft that could use some refinement. I haven't decided if I'll keep it or send it back, it fits and looks excellent, just not as a rain shell :)

Here's a terrible picture, it fits damn near how it looks on the site:

  7. Nope, should have it Thursday :)

I'm a large in everything else I wear so I just grabbed a large without looking at measurements, hopefully it fits pretty trim like the fit pics on their site.

I'll try to take some pics when it gets in

  8. 30% off S/S @ Isaora :)

Finally picked up the Wet Worker shell in bone :D

While I'm here, does anybody have any ideas for longer length tanktops made of more tech materials/vented/merino/etc? Looking for these mainly for layering, I have some nice long RO tanks but they're all cotton, I'd love something similar in a nice material that will dry out quicker and smell better for longer for more active days.

  9. I have an Outlier Vented Double hoodie size LARGE in DARK NAVY, I just got it today, it's a bit short in the sleeves for me, I would've got an XL if it had been an option.

Available @ $250 plus shipping for the next few days.  If nobody wants it I'll be sending it back to Outlier :)

I also have an Outlier Softcore Wool Vest in the grey wool body size large.  Dark navy merino interior, excellent condition (worn less than 5 times) available for $200 plus shipping.  It's the color shown in the first 8  pictures on their site.

SISP Double Sleeve Vent shirt BLACK size Large.  Just won this @ auction, it's a bit too small also so it needs to go. $75 plus shipping (cheaper than I paid).  Like this one except black.

    PM for pics or questions.

Quick Bump before I mail the hoodie back this weekend :)

  10. I got my double vented hoodie today, it's a sick piece but a bit too small for me in the shoulders and sleeve.  I would've got an XL if it was an option. Should fit a slim large perfect or a medium if you're into baggy stuff.  I posted it in the urban techwear FS thread if anybody is interested before I send it back to Outlier in a week or so :)

  12. Damn, I never got the email for the hoodies... Thanks for the heads up. Vented double hoodie ordered! :)

EDIT: and it looks like I got the last large

  13. Hmmm I check Haven regularly and never saw them on there..

Has one else seen the unen vest on sale anywhere?

They were there for at least a week, maybe 2.  That's the only place I've seen it for sale in all sizes.  They're all gone now of course...

I paid full price and then some @ the Seattle store for the Unen, I think it was worth it :)

  14. Hi! I'm in portland for the week, I've checked out a bunch of places from this thread already!

Does anybody know where I could find some veilance, acr, or sisp in the area? I'll be in Washington some of the time so Seattle area isn't out if the question, but I've only seen the arcteryx store listed on their website. I'm looking for more boutique type stuff :)

    Thanks for any help!

  15. Nice kit!

I'm actually trying to find a particular type of item to augment my loadout right now. I have no idea where to buy something like this, maybe someone would have an idea.

What I'm looking for is a band of 25mm webbing, about 10cm long, with a slotted loop at one end and a loop at the other. Here's a pic explaining what I'm after.

    ti9Pzqm.png

Basically It's for connecting another loop item to my belt. This just threads through both and connects back to itself. Any ideas on where I could get one?

Not exactly what you're talking about, but would a maxpedition tac tie work for what you're trying to do?

  16. Does anybody know what bomber this guy is wearing? I looked through all the old arcteryx veilance collections and didn't see anything that looked like this. Something upcoming maybe?

    Thanks! :)

  17. Awesome pics Sypron!  I think I run into the same problem as you with the length of the pants, I better go with a Large to get that extra couple inches on the inseam :)

They look like they fit just right on you

  18. anybody who has the p-15 already, can you post some pics and if you sized down at all? I'm super interested in ordering a pair but hesitant as I haven't seen them on anybody but ERLSN and that short white kid (I be that tall, white kid)   :)

I'm not sure if it's a look I wanna try to pull off yet  ;)

  19. I wanted to extend my thanks to Nikolay (devilsdancer) for making me a great deal on the Set-1 he had for sale and ensuring it made it's way to me.  It's a great piece for my first ACR jacket  :) He was a pleasure to work with and just to talk to as well...

I hope to have many more pleasant interactions with the members here :)
