  1. Alright, update: Florence is not great for shopping aside from major Italian brands. The one shop I did visit and ended up loving was Desii Vintage, which is a well-curated American workwear-themed shop. They had a really fantastic collection of old selvage 501s, various sample-only runs of Thoroughgood, Red Wing, and Doc Marten styles, cashmere socks, Hill-Side accessories, wool coats, French military trousers, vintage Fruit of the Loom tees, etc. The staff was also very accommodating. It's definitely worth a visit even if you're only peripherally interested in that style of clothing.

The Florence WP Store was also okay. Despite not having a fantastic selection of stuff, and larger sizes of already-small Japanese brand goods being few and far between, the brands they carry are good: Beams+, Nanamica, Engineered Garments, and an extensive collection of Woolrich garments, to name a few. Surprisingly, they had a comparable, if not larger, women's section as well.

Generally speaking, I feel that Florence itself is not a great vacation destination. I can only bear to look at so many paintings of baby Jesus before the whole shtick gets stale. The food is also not great. Being such an intense tourist destination, restaurants assume they only have to feed you once, so not a lot of care is put into the menu. Stick to Milan for a much better eating and shopping experience!

  2. I'm going to Florence soon, for about two weeks. This thread is kind of old so if anyone has any new insight on good places to shop apart from the outlets and The Mall, any info would be appreciated.

  3. Yuketen plain toe in mocha with ripple soles. The perfect amount of bulk I've been looking for. I got them a half-size smaller than I typically wear and they fit exactly right.

On the inside heel branding, you can tell it was burned a little bit, which means that a person is literally branding all of these by hand. In fact, the box they came in has the style written by hand on the outside.

I'm really impressed by the overall level of care put into these. Can't wait to wear them.

here's a link to a zip of about 100 stock shots from the nep tokyo archives, so there's a little soloist and some collaboration photos in there too from when they were in stock. not many pants pics because for the most part i thought they were kind of wack. hope someone finds it interesting!

  5.

Pleather and coated cotton fabrics are often used at Junya to imitate the look of leather. The jackets of FW05 were made of coated cotton (some of them if not all ).

Extremely pleased by this collection. Nothing more/nothing less than pure Junya.

I figured as much, he and the Comme fam are always playing with fabrics. And agreed, this is looking all-around really good.

  6. Also, I heard that the rebuild series doesn't have consistent sizing (since it's "rebuilt" obviously) so it's hard to gauge fit unless you try it on?

I'm also interested in hearing about this. I've been wanting a rebuild flannel so much but they don't pop up too often, let alone in a large. Specifically this one looks so nice:

I've also been eyeing the Champion rebuild sweatshirts. Nico Jacobson, who used to post here as like, nerothekid or something, has one and it looks on-point in his photos, though I've yet to find just a general product shot of it. Think The Bureau was selling them?

I've been going through the Nep archives and saving all the stuff I like that I'll probably never find. The number of beautiful pieces is just astounding. I'd be happy to upload a zip of all the product shots I like after I finish going through all of the archives if anyone is interested in that.

Oh yeah, and someone needs to buy this South2West8 shirt on e-g. I would jump on it but it's too small.  :(

  7. Keizo Shimizu

    Thank you!

this thread shouldn't b dead in the 1st place :(

Yeah, I feel it. The Nep family puts together such sick stuff all the dang time, I don't know why no one is talking about it on here. The Needles 2014 S/S lookbook is ridiculous.

  8. Hate to bring this back from the dead, but I was wondering if anyone knew who the creative director of Needles is? Been going through the NepTokyo news archives and there are just so many outstanding Needles pieces. I want to know more about the brand, because right now I can't find any resource.

  9. Yeah. I e-mailed the folks at Inventory. I just want to settle in an amicable fashion. Totally unexpected, I felt.

I agree, I'm really surprised about the way your order was handled. They genuinely seem to handle all their business matters very professionally, but then again I don't have any personal experience. Let us know what happens, if you'd like. I hope it all gets sorted out.

  10.  I just copped a John Smedley cardigan. It's something I've wanted for a long time after trying it on in Tokyo. Shit never goes on sale and I just couldn't justify the 300 dollar price tag. Copped for 50% off and will bring me years if not decades of steez. Thank you, my friend.

It's all good, homie. Glad to hear you got what you wanted!

  11. Coppelion was the first series in a long time that I watched as it aired, and I'm glad I did. I also finished watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Kuuchuu Buranko, and Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita pretty recently. Think I'm going to start watching Steins;Gate soon.
