A fantastic island indeed. Unfortunately we didn't make it that far north, we stayed outside Willemstad and didn't get further away than Lagun. Cave picture is from Hato caves.

mpukas - the Jelado Denim is a size 33 (my normal size would be 31) and you are probably right that I could have pulled off a size 31. The denim is quite soft and stretchy but I was worried that they would be uncomfortable to stretch due to the higher rise. As it is now they are very comfortable (and actually fits perfectly in the waist without stretching) and they are growing on me, but as you say, they are big in the legs and the fit needs some time getting used to.

Signed up for the Super heavy weight with Kamikaze Attack 24oz. But then I saw the Jelado 55 Denim from Nokipple (fantastic service and help on sizing) and wanted to try out something more retro, so I signed up for Lightweight as well.
Really not used to either the light (14oz) weight or the very loose fit.
Here is the pre soak pics for Jelado 55:
Went for Megatron's advice and threw the in the washer for 60 deg C and a hot tumble dry to get maximal shrinkage. (even though Mega maybe didn't mean to go that hot). The fit got better and they a really comfortable but I am still unused to the fit.

Awesome jeans! What happened to the patch???
60 degrees Celsius washes did that to the patch. After the last washes the stitching started to come undone and this last wash shredded the patch. Haven't experienced that before.

HC-SF-103 Samurai S5000vx 15oz 15th Anniversary
One year update and challenge pics.
The jeans have been washed 4 times after the first 2 initial soaks. They were washed at 6, 7, 8.5 and 10.5 months. Washed because they were dirty or needed tightening up. Each time they were washed in 60 deg C and a full 2h program in the machine with normal “sensitive†washing detergent for colored clothes. After each wash, when wet, I stretched the inseam and waist.
The cuffs, crotch and front pockets were repaired after 8.5 months by Unionville in Stockholm.

HC-SF-103 Samuari S5000vx 25oz 15th anniv.
My s5000 are starting to give up in the crotch area after 8,5 months of wear. But it seems that most of the wear of the material started after I started to commute by bicycle to work.
So, since they started to become see-through in the crotch area I decided it is high get them repaired and fix the cuff at the same time.

Thanks everybody, Splash, I'll go with the big cuffs for now. Being 188cm I never had to hem before and I have a feeling the inseam stretched in the heat and humidity so I will see where they ends up. Maybe another hot wash and tumble dry will take care of it for me
