  1. that's great advice for people who enjoy passable plots that have been choked by pornographic drivel

As far as I remember it's primarily Nisemonogatari that suffers from this, which is somewhat justified by that season primarily dealing with sexuality. I can't remember if the other seasons are as heavy with the fanservice, I watched them a while ago.

Any thoughts on Sidonia no Kishi? I'm a huge fan of Blame! and this seems like Tsutomu Nihei's attempt at a more mainstream series, but I honestly think he kind of sucks at it. Falling into a lot of shounen tropes. The world is really cool though.

  2. I think the vest is what's killing it.  Fit makes the body look bigger than needed, the texture has a bit too much of a matte sheen, and the gold zip is a bit weird among the other colder tones.

Or maybe the colors of the shirting/scarf is off (maybe try a gray/white?)

Feel like it has potential though!

Hey thanks for the comments. I was wondering what you meant by the vest making the body look bigger -- going with my gut it's the untucked shirt which is fucking with the proportions. I really appreciate your feedback (for others as well), you always make sure to enunciate exactly what elements you like and dislike.

  3. What's there to do in Montreal for ~1 week? I'm not looking for shop recs (I generally loathe in-store shopping), and while I've heard the strip clubs are solid this and similar types of debauchery is probably a no go... hit me up with cool bar recs though please and thanks  :)

Also interested in sightseeing and the like. Introduce me to stereotypical Canadian shit to look at like mounties or something.

  4. When you're taking a dump at school and on your laptop running data analyses and browsing superfuture*, and you lose track of time and your leg falls asleep, and everyone sees you limping out and you know they know what's up. I fucking hate that.

    * this post was not typed while taking said dump

  5. ^ what's the leather like on that varsity? / what's the story behind the treatment? To me it looks cracked and papery (and a little disgusting to be honest) but I'm sure the pictures don't tell the whole story, especially with visvim.

  6. Figures that temperature would go up by ~20 degrees the day my stuff comes in...

edit: I think I'm letting go of the Schneider. Size 5 is still a little small for me unfortunately.

  7. trem - oh I see that sounds like a pretty good gig then. I'm in the states now but I've lived in Taiwan for ~15 years.

Mr.Sander - you can live @ the youth center in Jiantan (red line) for a pretty cheap price. Walking distance to Shilin night market, 5 stops to Taipei main station, and about 1/3rds of the way to Danshui which has some pretty good food for tourists too. Daan (like trem mentioned above) has great food as well -- night market, and lots of places around the university. You can also go to the zoo to look @ pandas :)

some places that pop to mind for pretty quality å°åƒ -

  8. ^ I'm often much less concerned with physical fit than I am with personality fit. Everyone says to wear what you like and whatever, but I'll be the first to admit that I look damned silly in any Rick I've worn, even though the Dagger blazer I had was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful things I've owned. I eventually purged my wardrobe of Rick... a lot of my grails are things that are better admired from afar.

  9. Random question for y'all. For the longest time (I'd say 3+ years) my grails were the Converse x N(N) odessas in gray. Looked forever, saw one maybe every other month on auction sites, never in my size. Eventually caved and bought the one star version as a compromise but that eventually failed to satiate the hunger. After about half a year I finally found a pair, half a size too small, for more than retail and I instakopped. Wore it happily despite Chinese footbinding pain. Was happy.

Then fucking end clothing drops a metric fuck ton of them on sale for like 40% retail. Full size run. Rebought a pair in my size for a pittance. I won... after all these years I finally won.

But is it weird that I feel less satisfied now? Like it was somehow cheapened? I don't mind seeing them pop up in WAYWT much more frequently now, I'm not really someone to care about exclusivity or whatever, and they're cool shoes to see anyways. But it feels like my hunt was ultimately invalidated somehow, as if the years of fruitless searching and the ultimate payoff was more responsible for the 'grail' status than the grail itself. I just wear fucking new balances all day now. The once-grails are in my closet. Soulless. Empty.

  10. idk man, I feel like play was already reaching saturation point back then (at least among the Asian hypebeasts).

kind of unrelated but i remember around 4 - 5 years ago when my friend wore play chucks to school i made fun of him for wearing "fake converse"

he was mad ahead of the game

  11. ^ For work? To be honest I find the job market (and general work mentality) in Taiwan to be very mediocre... they still believe in Taylorism and scientific management shit. Honestly I feel if you're gonna live in Taipei you can live pretty much anywhere and not be too far from cool stuff. Hell you could live in Taoyuan and just bus / train up whenever you want to have fun. Daan is not bad though.
