HC-SF-92 steel feathers, checking in with challenge 1. I went the Asian (sorry not sure what language the poster is) Movie poster to edit as I have limited Photoshop skills, as this is really only my second or third time doing this type of thing.

I want to get some more shrinkage out of my steel feathers and i know there is a little left in them. Should i wait for my fades to develop some more or do it now?

Update from Morgan @ Viberg. only thing i didnt spec or talk about was the tongue, not sure about balck. has any one had a pair shipped to the UK, shipping costs, duty, tax??

I will stick with "awaiting boot" as it keeps the idea sweet and simple! And if everyone does what the same we will have great documentation!    

Also does anyone know of a good place to order leather care. eg oil, brush & trees?

Forgot to say cheers for the thread. I have said it before but Danny is great bloke, makes you feel welcome and will move the earth to make you happy!

Why not post a pic of them being made, then replace it when you receive them? Best of both worlds!

That’s why i asked, but that is not an option in the instructions so i took that as just wait. I am happy to do either but its up to the community if I post a pic of the boot being made.

take that as wait for your bloody boots and just type "awaiting boots"

can i stick the photo up of my boots being made, or would you rather me just post "awaiting boots"?

May not be pretty but these are going out tonight no matter what. First stop Danny @ Rivet and Hide then onwards to Rudimental.

Thanks heaps mate i will do! Cant wait to have the new Waldes zip on, seen on their website they have some cool zips. I still think you should have a zip on the new steel feathers (seen photos of the new ones with button holes), i need all the help i can get in the toilet ha ha. It makes these jeans STEEL FEATHERS 

Send me a PM with your address and I will send out a replacement zipper for you ASAP. This zipper will be slightly different but from the same Japanese brand of zippers. It will all add to the flavour, and you will get an even more unique pair of jeans. Get in touch with Danny and he should be able to help you out when it comes to tailor and such.

That would be great Anders, i need these jeans running 24/7 i have a comp to win!   and i have had to downgrade to 16.5oz denim, cant be having that!

I have been in touch with Anders and he will send me a replacement zip. Just need to find a tailor who will do a good job. Thanks Anders.

Thanks for the praise. However, I'd like to take the opportunity to say it's not just any zipper: this is a replica 1940s conmar style zipper with heather grey cotton tape. Real "connoisseur" grade stuff right there

steel feather fly broke today, two teeth just fell off! hmm, anyone know a good tailor?  I kept the zip and button up while soaking and drying. Used beewax on it when it was stiff and some mink oil. How do i replace my Real "connoisseur" grade zipper i dont want a tailor putting a crap one on or miss matching thread colour! I was loving the zip and the jeans and how vintage ideas have been used eg, conmar zip and cotton thread.

Up to 34 (2 before soak , 4 after but before comp started) full wears yesturday. Been ticking off the days i have been wearing and things i do in my denim. eg riding to work and working.
