  1. However, this could be Arc trying to put some more money behind Veilance in the hopes of expanding the line and lowering the price point a bit, which inevitably benefits us the consumer, as we will have even more product to fawn over and better price points so we won't have to wait until sales season (could also give them money to do a women's Veilance line, which I personally would love to see the wifey in). It would also give them the money to expand the sewing facility in Canada and could eventually allow them to move more of the mainline production to their home turf thereby bettering the majority revenue stream. Plus, Nanamica didn't lose any cool points being sold in the crew and neither did Yuketen, and Common Projects are sold everywhere, yet we still love them. With the majority of big name designers now pulling elements from techwear and introducing them into their lines, this day was bound to come sooner or later, at least it's j crew and not topman or Asos.

I think quite a few pages back it was mentioned that ss14 or aw14 would include a womens line (I could be wrong, it might be 2015), but Im pretty sure its coming sooner rather than later.

  2. I want to stay away from the laundry. It's airing out now. I will let you know if I find a solution. I don't want to ruin the waterproofing.

You're supposed to wash and dry gore-tex to 're-activate' the waterproofing. If you want you can get sprays to put on so the water beads up more effectively, but I wouldn't worry about ruining it in the laundry.

I think this was posted a few pages back.

    edit* Im embedded video challenged

  3. Did you go TTS? I guess it depends on your build, really. If you have monstrous calves and ankles, then I'm assuming--based on some of the inputs dating back to the S/S model--this cut won't work. I, however, found that a 33--which is my true size--was perfect--more of an anti-fit through the seat and top block-- I was just too lazy to look into finding a decent tailor I trusted enough to hem them, which I would say is absolutely necessary. (These pants are stupid long.)

Unfortunately my true size is ~31-31.5, so a 32 was just a little bit too big, and I tried squeezing into a 30 but that was way too small. And I wasnt trying to spend money on pants + alterations (also lack of tailor), I was just hoping for a better fit right off the bat, but I didnt get that.

Also as for the gloves, I would really want to guess canada because Im pretty sure every other veilance piece is made in canada.

  4. Are the Voronoi pants really that tapered? The S&G pics make it look that way and if that's the case I'm gonna need a pair.

Any impressions from owners before I pull the trigger?

I thought they were incredibly tapered, the thighs fit kind of like sweatpants (for my size), and they were pretty much skin tight around my calves. Also, the legs are pretty long, I know they were designed to have some stacking, but I found it to be pretty excessive.

They werent quite what I was looking for, so if youre a size 30, there should be another pair back in stock soon...

  5. if it can help, spec pants 30 fit well for me but voronois from ss13 in 30 did not fit at all, too tapered (legs) and tight (waist)

some voronois in stretchy wb400 (same as acronym p9ch/p11ch) would be fantastic but I suppose the fabric is too expensive

So im a 32 in the main line shorts, and they are a little snug. If you had to guess would you say that just a size would have made the difference for fitting, or 2 sizes?

  6. Im looking to get some voronois this fall, but im wondering about the sizing. I have some old mainline shorts from a few years back, and looking at the numbers for the current version and veilance size chart, on paper they match, which would be cool. If any of you have experience with both (main line and veilance) pants sizing, is this indeed true, or should i size up/down whatever.

  7. How is veilance in size compared to regular arc'teryx stuff, specifically pants? I have some arc'teryx shorts from '08 maybe, that fit me just shy of snug in the waist, but are pretty baggy otherwise. I assume that since veilance is more of a tailored cut the bagginess wouldnt be an issue, but would the waist size transfer between the two?

  8. Tiger - what is cold weather to you? just wondering what climate.

Shifty, just based on your requirements, I think that the outlier doubleweave canvas stuff would be a great option. I have worn mine for three years in vermont in all but the hottest days. If it goes below 25 degrees I put long underwear on underneath them, but that is pretty standard for the climate. Both the Slim Dungarees and the Keirin Cut come in that cloth. It is a relatively thick, quick-drying, water-resistant, super comfortable (the inside of the "double weave" is brushed and soft) fabric.

Couldn't be more appropriate, currently living in vermont. I probably wont pick anything up now as summer is approaching, and I'll wait until towards the end of summer before I act, but thanks for the input guys.

  9. I was wearing Voronoi's the other day when it was 5-7 degrees out (celsius) and the chill was apparent.

Edit: On another note, the same day I was wearing the Voronoi's, I also had the Graph sweater on and while walking through our factory to ship some items, an employee eyed me and said I looked straight out of Star Trek. I laughed in the moment, but Internally I was having a huge struggle as to how I felt about this comment. haha. *sigh* He no longer works for us.

As far as warmth goes, I'm generally content in pants if its above 25ºF (-4ishºC). Im just trying to avoid something that would be as lightweight as quickdry hiking shorts or a bathing suit or something.

  10. Alright, maybe you guys can steer me in the right direction. Today the weather couldnt decide what to do, so it rained, snowed, hailed, and did whatever. I had a shell on so my top half was dry, but I was unfortunately wearing jeans and they got soaked walking around. So I have decided to invest in a type of pants that arent jeans. Ive been admiring outlier and veilance stuff for a while, but im leaning towards veilance just because the price difference isnt insurmountable, and I'm a fan of regular arc'teryx stuff.

I know you guys have had experience with both brands, so I was just wondering if you guys could offer insight onto what I might be looking for (I'm open to other suggestions as well). I would like something that dries at a reasonable rate, is somewhat more comfortable if I do get soaked, and about as warm as jeans (as weird as that sounds). So overall, a more technical pant than something that is straight denim, but still 'fashionable.'

Also, in pictures the veilance pants fabric (any model) doesnt look that thick, where as the outlier pants look thicker, is that at all accurate? (assuming thickness translates to warmth)
