At the end of the day it sucks because his work is great and honestly I haven’t found any other jeans that fit me as well.
I’ll say what other have said. It’s his business model not his craftsmanship that are the issue.
Here are two of my favorite pairs. Both from 2014 or 2015

His work is great. The 4-5 year wait not so much.
Hard to not get upset when you’ve been waiting that long and he’s pumping out new product. Always paid in full up front.

Chup socks are terrible in my opinion.
I wear Filson wool socks pretty much all year

Nah. Been lifting for years. It’s just the cut of the jeans. Haha

Yea my FW 1947 have crazy hip flare since they’re still pretty new.
It just makes the saggy bottom even worse. Need to break them in. Haha
Honestly out of all my denim Roy, WH Ranch, Wrangler, Left Field, etc
My wife says that the wrangler and Mister Freedom are really the only ones that look good from the back....haha

The diaper butt is always an issue with vintage cuts
they’re not flattering to the backside

Not with pants but I get that with denim jackets with buckle back. I have to cut the buckle off of all of them

That won’t ever happen. Did you finally get your jacket?

Who exactly is his market for there to be a demand of shirts made by him? Japan? Europe? It definitely isn't America because I haven't seen any of his denim carried online besides his webstore.
Evan at Hudson Hill is good friends with Ryan. They carried his RTW jeans.
Shop Canoe Club carried his 1936 cut
Don’t think either carry his stuff now

The black bear collab was interesting. When I asked about it. They said it’s a collab but still the standard order process through Ryan.
I assumed they had the product in stock but that wasn’t the case.
I’m not sure his target market. Used to be rancher and cowboy but now he’s making top gun jackets and an option for pre distressed denim. He calls it Couture western wear
I really don’t know who buys his stuff to keep him in business. I only see one guy post his stuff lately and his bio says he is sponsored by WH Ranch. Maybe he just has tons of orders paid in full and backed up?

with this thread I’m surprised people are still buying his stuff.
Gear patrol even posted and article with the headline about him having a 2 year wait list haha

Yea I know someone who is waiting over 5 years. They’ve given up at this point and just calling it a loss.

Same direction BlueOwl has gone over the last few years. Venturing into more Japanese fashion type brands.
Gotta stay relevant and branch out a little over time.

I like looking at the old models of SC on Grailed. There are often some very well used pairs and currently there is a model listed I was not familiar with.
It is possibly called “Sailor” or “65” ?
It is a dungaree cut that I really like and has an interesting back pocket with a “W” and a blank thick leather patch.
And check out those rivets. Possibly Stainless. I have a pair of Levis with aluminum rivets. They look great as the denim fades.
Cool stuff.
I wish SC would do a release of sone of their vintage items. Bring back the old buttons ;-)
Have a link to these? I’ve been trying to find a pair of these and the size might work for me.

I’ve met a handful of people waiting anywhere from 2-5 years now for their order
