  1. i didn't really think the discussion was about shopping, just the process that led to it.

then i don't know. yeah i guess it'd be good if we could see something cool on the internet, research it then hopefully go check it out irl.

  2. dunno if referring to me but isn't he basically agreeing with what i said?

maybe. what i got (or at least wanted to) was about buying stuff. i mean, you coulda seen jordan, but made the conscious choice not too cause you don't like him. i like that. i mean to me it's like my some of my pals that i don't really like/don't know why i hang out with, trying to get me to see a based rapper or wolfgangs concert and me refusing to go. what fuuma had mentioned about seeing what kids are wearing, trends and stuff. this is done outta necessity or convenience. i don't think this be bad, but would prefer to see this live, not that this is always possible. for instance the undercover sneakers posted in this thread. people be shitting on them, but they are dope imo. probably over have the negative comments about them never handled them live and just be giving neg rep for hate's sake.

"now there is a lot of misunformation out there (everyone is a fucking expert on sufu/styleforum/sz) but that is to be expected with such a large amount of info available..." wordx1000

  3. I agree when it comes to judging a specific piece, say before buying. There are a lot more online order disasters than in-store disasters for obvious reasons (you can look at the material, construction, try it on, compare it with other articles etc.). On the other hand getting inspiration and a feel for what is going on is now more of an online game, with all the tumblrs, runway show archives, streetwear blogs, forums like sufu, etc. I mean I like people watching and all that and most of my buys are done in stores but if I wanna see some Yohji from 2003 or what the fashion kids are wearing I better use the internutz. Now there is a lot of misunformation out there (everyone is a fucking expert on sufu/styleforum/sz) but that is to be expected with such a large amount of info available.

accurate statement. obvious to a few, but i'm glad you pointed it out for the benefit of some of the other unfortunates here.

  4. and yes... i got soft. 60 hour weeks and a wife and kids can do that to a man.

do what you gotta do man. a sob working class story always helps me to appreciate what i've got. respekt...sorta i guess. glad you still find the time while being a family man, and working 60 plus hours to still post cool shit and look super dope on sufu. many thanks! i'm sure you're an inspiration and integral part of this community! keep it up. awesssoooooomeee!

  5. heres a bad fit to break up the fuckery in this thread.

    jhp4.jpg

it's ain't worst material. and it ain't all that good either. but you already know that and knew it before you posted in here. thanks for nothing.

it's probably the natural cycle of life, but man you look like you got soft.

  6. Why would you want to rep someone for going to a basketball game/concert?

If anyone is deserving of rep, it's the great and talented, not the people that witnessed greatness or try to write themselves into it.

cause i can. mainly envy rep. although i did see the sex pistols $50 reunion show (so yes mass, some of us did. wasn't good though). anyway people been repped on this site for much more ridiculous things.

  7. i dunno maybe, but you can't really deny that there are just as many people looking shitty in purchases as a result of real life experience vs dudes dressed by the internet.

that's true, but it kind of seems more dignified to gain experience or influence irl.

  8. that analogy doesn't really make sense. it's more like watching a peep show vs watching porn online.

maybe not, but isn't experiencing something irl or even getting influenced irl from rl experiences better?

  9. what's the difference between using the internet as a medium of influence vs 'real life'?

    imo alot.

jerking off to porn vs. getting ones dicked sucked? depends on how strong yr wrist is, what kind of lotion you invest in, and couple other variables depending on the individual. sure you can argue that some girls give terrible brain, but it's gotta be better than a the self wank, right?

  10. I dunno what "these asians" do but I am not sure UC is that hot in Japan right now the way facetasm is. My understanding of what Rajio said is that, RIGHT NOW (doesn't matter if people knew about it/wore it before) UC is popular on styleforum and Baconzilla was one of the people who kickstarted that. He is getting a lot of positive feedback on his fits and prob a few emulators. Keep in mind that sufu has some posted fits and recent buys threads but what makes it important is the thousands of lurkers or relatively discrete posters who buy what they see in here. I wouldn't be able to quantify its impact on the american retail scene but I think that for some high-fashion/niche brands and retailers it is probably much higher than we'd think at first.

tbh i wasn't even all that interested in talking about uc. i guess it just came up because baconzilla wears it alot? i don't know and don't really care. from what was said, i can fathom as to how an individual can influence forums. as far as nonjapanese asians hopping on japanese NOW brands, as you are probably aware this has been happening practically 4ever (again, there's nothing inherently wrong with this. good for japanese economy) so under this impression i didn't really feel that thephenomenon jacket was such a trend setting or influencing buy. it does however fit baconzilla fine imo. maybe he is influencing a trend on the forums, but i just felt that he was given a little too much credit for doing what alot of asians already do fairly typically. if someone does it very well or makes stuff his or her own, then by all means there is merit in that and they ought to be credited.

  11. What I consider sufu trends is when almost everybody is embracing one particular item. So it's got more to do with items rather than brands as far as I see it. We always (as long as I've lurked at least) been up on HL, MMM, Raf, Jun, n(n), Ann D etc. etc. But suddenly there is one item from one brand that everybody cops. Ie. the Lanvin sneakers, the Supreme five panel, the Margiela gats, New Balance sneakers etc. And I guess the UU rider.

i was just uncertain of what a superfuture trend was because djrajio had christened bacon a "trendsetter." if he means trendsetter on the board, his claim or prediction could play out to be accurate. my whole deal was that i couldn't see "trend" setting because this is just how these asians do. they buy what is hot in japan.

as far as the a particular label's or designer's item being hot or a trend on superfuture i can definitely see what you are saying.

  12. I don't think I even remember a recent fit with UC, and now it's a trend? Not talking UU items, of course. Nor Nike collab.

well i doubt there are many here how would just admit to their seemingly exclusive consumption of uu and gyakusou alone. they try to legitimize the consumption of these easy-to-acquire accessible items by talking up/hyping uc, feigning liking it more than they actually do, or even buying some random throwaway piece. most here don't seem to have the means to get what the real uc fans get on the reg or already have gotten. anyway i don't even know what is considered a "trend" on this board, if there was a recent fit, or whatever. what i do know and can surmise is that there a bunch of threads about the label, and that members gab about it.

  13. Winq, insidertrading, darkanimal, Hewmiri, Rirawin, Baizilla and even Lowrey all been wearing UC. And I'm sure people like selectivebeef and tangerine wore it, but I can't remember a specific fit from them. So you're wrong about sufu not repping UC, dj.

    Bacon = sufu 5.0's Still.

i think what djrario meant is that undercover wasn't such the superfuture "trend" back then or whenever you're referring too as it seems to be now?

  14. what? I wasn't talking about bacon specifically. i just meant, in general, you don't need to be creative to be a trendsetter, which was in response to you saying that ppl just emulate what they see in jap fashion mags etc. If i found some cool brand that nobody knew and starting repping it, and it blew up on sufu, it doesn't mean i'm creative.

i don't know, i think we were talking about different things maybe?

maybe we are i don't know, but my point is that is there any real merit? nothing against baconguy, and the jkt looks like it fits him good and all, but that's what alot of asians do. this was my response to djrajio calling him a trendsetter. the act of asian on japanese stuffs is not just a trend, but a way of life for those people. maybe he is trendsetter on superfuture i really don't know. as far as the definition of being a trendsetter on here, you're probably right, but does this or should it hold some sort of glory? maybe, maybe not. it's mostly all timing anyway.

being a big cock in a tiny asshole definitely feels good. pretty soon all your mates and the kids who look up to you want to tap it. soon that oraphus becomes legendary. i suppose there may be some merit, internet fame social capita to be gained on superfuture.

  15. yes.

really, he was the first on this board to buy something or mention the label? while i highly doubt it, you could be right. if so,

ok. now we just have to wait and see if phenomenon actually becomes a trend in this microcosm. wow, how to be a trendsetter in superfuture!?!?

  16. you don't have to be creative to be a trend setter fyi

not saying bacon is or isn't creative btw.

i see what you're getting at, but phenomenon has been a fashion trend in tokyo for a second now. do you mean superfuture trend setter?

  17. You could argue its a lot more visible given the Uniqlo/Nike collabs but posters would certainly not be copping the knit riders because of that shit. It's because 90% of the posters are sheep and buy what trend setters like Bacon get into.

i won't pretend to know superfuture history, nor do i follow it's members' internal board politics, but imo even though baconzilla looks okay i wouldn't go so far as to call him a trend setter. imo he's just another asian / sinagaporean who is following japanese fashion trends. and he does it well enough i think. isn't that what alot of these other asian countries are about or into? they follow the leader. emulating japan or buying stuff they see in japanese mags or on japanese fashion blogs? not that there's anything wrong with that i suppose. i don't know maybe he is a "trendsetter" for superfuture or singapore. meaning that he did the inevitable before alot of his fellow countrymen or acquired one of japan's now brands first (on sufu or before his friends). whoopie
