  1. Need some suggestions.  I was bored and needed to clean my wardrobe so I took some pictures of the things I have that could be considered "techwear", it's mostly icebreaker, outlier and some stone island. Some things missing:  outlier ultralights and climbers + og freeshell that I haven't received yet.

Some suggestions on what to get next?  I'm pretty content with what I have but would like to get a black pullover, one hoodie to replace the gray one, and 3-4 outlier shirts. I cannot afford stuff really expensive  like for example acronym.

Full album with some other stuff and the wardrobe itself here: http://imgur.com/a/lhVca

outerwear:  3 waterproof merino by icebreaker  + puma rain jacket (sucks 0 breathability), missing navy OG Freeshell

pants: 2x dungarees, nyco, OG, 2x three way shorts, 2x linen shorts  (missing climbers charcoal + ultralights gray)

  2. ^ I was asking myself the same, icebreaker's base layer (200 everyday Long sleeve) already have a gusset/side panel that reaches the elbow and raglan sleeves. They are extremely comfortable (wearing one right now in bed)

  3. nah, normal macbook, the colours are pretty accurate (not on that picture).  At least I haven't had problems with outlier's stuff and colors until now, except some charcoal riding pants for my girlfriend that are darker and too similar to her black dungarees.

Anyway, I'm probably exaggerating a bit. I think natural lighting has a lot to do with the shade of gray/green, at home they look plain gray.

Nyco's are just "normal" pants, nothing really special, you will like the climbers much more. I don't have them but will size up when I get a pair.

  4. Just a warning about the colors on outlier's pics, they may not be too accurate.

I received the Zinc dungarees today. In all the pictures on the site they look grey but in person it's more like a green-ish grey. It's not even close to the pictures on the web, I would call them muted green or something.

That's next to the strong blue merino/co shirt, the blue graytint (wearing it, just a corner), and on top of the black OGs. It looks even greener in person, the color it's hard to capture on pictures, at least with an iphone.

On the website Zinc  is supposed to be like this:

I was looking for something to use in place of gray denim so it's a bit disappointing. The color is nice and I was lucky and didn't have to pay taxes so I'm keeping them. Just not what I expected. Hoping they make climbers in gray.

  5. last year the woolback freeshell came out in january ($365 too), the woolback Ogs in december. I think the winter releases will still take a couple months and this are the fall versions. In the last interview abe said that now they try to release new products every 2 weeks, I think we'll get some sweaters, woolback pants and shell, something for the girls (winter riding pants?) and a beefy jacket.

  6. I just managed to get the 2 things I "needed" from outlier. Another pair of dungarees in zinc (31) and another merino/co shirt S. They've been out of stock for weeks but one of each appeared this morning and I had to get them. Time to force myself into a cop freeze until next year.

A suggestion in case you want some of the outlier items that get sold out as soon as they are released; keep checking the page every morning starting a week or two from release. The stock is updated daily and it's when they start getting the returned orders. There were more merino/co shirts (blue M and gray S), I was going to post here about them but they got sold too fast. Right now there are some sweatpants and hoodies in "normal" sizes back in stock.

  7. As much as I am sold on Merino, I gave found out that I like a little polyamide in it. The brand I have been using for the last couple of years has it and it makes it washable on 30 degree cycles and retain it's original shape..

The 100% Merino have to go on wool wash and dry flat etc... Do like the IO henley with the different direction of weave of the placket.

which brand are you refering to? Most of my merino is icebreaker and is 100% merino. I always wash it in a normal 30 or 40 degrees cycle and I hang them to dry (as they recommend doing). They keep the shape perfectly but I've noticed tiny holes appearing on some of the tshirts after about 2 years. I'm not totally sure if it's moths or the washing process but I think that they are just not durable enough. Now, after reading the instructions of my washing machine,  I'm doing a 30 delicate wash (almost no spinning cycle) but I still hang them. The only thing I dry flat are outlier pants.

BTW, since we are talking about merino, the merino/co shirt from outlier is incredibly awesome. Definitely the best shirt I have and in another league compared to other merino shirts like icebreaker that hang awfully. It doesn't have that much merino in it and it's not too soft but they got the mix of cotton/merino just right, it regulates heat perfectly, haven't sweated with it yet and after getting completely drenched today it dried very fast. It also doesn't wrinkle and after 4 days of wear it still doesn't smell or need washing (I normally wash my shirts after one or two wears). Expensive but I think it's justified.

  8. ^ the prices on the iO merino are nice.  What size do you think that the model is wearing?

    meh:

    • USPS Express 3-6 Day Air at $45.00 US   + duties...

I think I'll wait for the TAD huntsman henley and keep getting icebreaker t-lite t-shirts

  9. I'm checking the pics of the bomber again and I like the old pivotal bomber much better. The neck and hidden zipper look nicer to me, it's also a bit longer. Looks less "bomber-y":

The side pocket is nicer on the new one but that's about it.

  10. I received the merino/co shirt yesterday , they seem to have adjusted the pattern a bit compared to the old pivot shirts. They are listening to us, this one is more fitted on the bottom part and the sleeves are a bit longer. The weight of the fabric is perfect for F/W. Haven't wore it yet but fits great and the fabric is not as heavy as it looks on the pictures. I'm happy with the purchase.

The bomber is awesome but not for $600, they should make the old $350 model again.

  11. ^ Yesterday I got the email for the merino/co at 22:08 (local time), placed my order at 22:35  and at 22:48 they were sold out of the size/colour that I got (gray/small).  This morning there are no S or M left in any colour but red.

Running out of a $175 shirt in 40 minutes is crazy. They really should start making bigger batches.
