  1. Size 31, post soak. Almost like the 30 better, deal with the uncomfort for a bit and just wear it raw and break it in like how (offyatree) did. My true waist is about 32.5 exactly and he stretched out to that. I am thinking that this true to size would last longer though? What do you think the 31 or 30? The 30's are posted above

Anyone wanna pick up the 0201 in a 31? About to post in the market.

    @ Theganjalife:

Momo's are notorious for not stretching very easily. I reckon a size 31 measures something like 32" (maybe a half inch bigger, give or take). While these will shrink up to an inch in the waist, I wouldn't be too sure that they stretch back to raw measurements. The denim is very tightly woven.

Well, having said that, I think the fit on your 0201's is solid, but don't know if they would fit that good after soak, if you know what I mean. On the other hand, I've seen people handling the 0201/0701's and managing to stretch them a fair bit, but mostly after prolonged wear in raw condition. (Ryan Huber from Context, offyatree from MyNudies).

  2. So yesterday I picked up a pair of size 30 0201's. Too tight for my liking, could only fit my fingertips in the waistband by force. I knew it was too much of a tight fit right then and there especially knowing that I was going to soak and end up at a 30 true. My waist measures at 32 1/2-33.

So exchanged the 30's for a 31. Didn't take pre soak sorry but I will take some post soak pictures once they finish drying. Below are pictures of me in the 30. They may look ok but trust me, I wasn't having it in the waist even if I could button up the top button but hardly.

  3. Already know, I'm on the search for a diff cut. I'll either give these to my brother in law or save em for a rainy day.

I think you don't have any option. size 32 = thighs too tight, size 33 = waist too loose.

you should admit that you won't achieve the perefct fit overall at any point of the pair, as it is just not the right cut for you. but since this denim only comes in this cut, there's not much you can do

  4. That is what I was thinking exactly, my waist measures at 33 the 32 would have worked but I probably would have been looking at some thread breakage like how I was on the 31's. Threads were breaking within 2 days in the crotch and I could tell the crotch would have went fast. I do wear a belt with my jeans, it has a little bunch in the crotch that kind of irritates me but oh well I think only I notice it and I am just not used it. Plus me walking around the house with my belt off examining the extra waist space was freaking me out, I just woke up tossed em on put on my belt and the jeans feel great Maybe as time goes on and the fabric breaks in more it'll get better and the little crotch waist/crotch bunch part will diminish. Thank you guys!!

here is the waist shot I forgot to post

If I stretch it out with my hand its about an inch and a half

    DSC_0423.jpg

depends on what you want to do with them. if you're interest is to keep them longer, the 702 should be the [more conservative] choice__ just wear a belt. but, if your priority is fit "now", you can prolly squeeze into a W32 [w/ a partial soak on the top block, but watch out for thread breakage/blown seams.

    imho, keep the 702s.

  5. day after the waist soak. Made the waist a tad bit tighter but didn't really do much since they sit on my ass and thighs for the most part. I still feel iffy since I am not used to having a waist that isn't so snug like the grand indigo's I just came out of but the thighs were getting too tight on those I felt and would have gotten tighter from working out. The legs feel just right on these though, I tried to size down but the thighs immediately felt too tight but I know the waist would have been right, but here are some photo's let me know what you think, almost wish I would have went up just one instead of 2.....almost wanna sell em and get something else. Only been 2 days. But this upper block I feel like I am swimming in it.

First, the Grand Indigo's I stopped wearing tagged 31 measured 33" thigh 11.25 but here stretched out to 12.4"

    IMG_0568-1.jpg

    Now the 0702. 2 sizes up. tagged 33 measured 34" thigh 11.75

  6. That's funny I just realized there is no arc or tab while I was cleaning the cream cheese I just spilled on it

    @ brownmetallic

As far as I know the fabricage both come grond the Rampuya mill. The fabric is exactly the same, bureau both modelsvare sanforized to a different degree and the 0702 features another "type" of indigo, because of that the color is much darker.

GI sports Copper Label arcs and white tab and misses the pink selvage ID. 0702 comes with it, but doesn't have tab and arc

  7. Appreciate it, I would but I stopped wearing them they were getting extremely tight in the legs for me I started to lift again during the time I got these and wore them for a couple of months the thigh went from 11.25" to a measured 12.4" and the waist from a 32 to a 33.6 a belt was pointless. They were too uncomfortable to sit down and would always rise up on my because my ass grew too lol.

Hey but I did get another pair 2 sizes up to fit me just right so I will keep you updated on them, they're the same jean basically the 0702 which has a deeper indigo. I just posted a few pics in the Japan blue Momotaro thread yesterday if you wanna check em out and I'll keep updating monthly and what not on em for sure.

^would love to see good pics of them in a few months. the denim is awesome and the combs look promising.

  8. No they weren't that tight when I first got them, here is a pic 58ba9522.jpg

Between the two months or so I wore them, my thighs have gained 2 -2 1/2" that is the only reason why they streched how they did, thet had no choice but to. So i needed a bigger jean to fit me comfortably. The 0702's should not get lose on me either. The fit is great feeling for my legs and ass & now and since I'm working out these jeans will stretch along with me, thats the good thing with these jeans they give you the right amount of stretch you need and really nothing more. They are a great jean man make the move. When I got the grand indigos I got a 31 which measured 32 and my true waist size was a 33 and they fit comfortably and they stretched out to to fit perfect in the waist I believe they measure to a 33.6 but the legs just werent working. Just stay true to size and you'll be good.

wow lost of stretch there ! when you first wore the GI, it must really be jeggings huh ! since the 33 of 0702 fits you quite snugly from the fit pic.. but wont you be worried that your 0702 might stretch like the GI, and be too loose?

thanks for the fast response... i think im gonna do fine in the 30 :)

    appreciate your advice bro..

  9. @juhan The 0702 is a 33. I went from a 31 in the grand indigo to a 33 in the 0702. The GI's definitely stretched for the 2 months I had them, they had no choice since my legs got bigger. The thighs started at 11.25" in the end they measured 12.4". When I sat down they felt like jeggings or something. the waist started at 32", when I stopped wearing them they were at 33.6". The 0702 is the same cut as the Grand indigo, the rise is a tad bit shorter but not noticeable, look at the #'s on blueOwl. They are considered "Tight straight", slim in the leg so I wouldn't say skinny at all. This is my favorite cut hands down. Why would you be worried though about the 30 not working? They stretch if that is what you are worried about, zimbabwe cotton gets very soft.

  10. Stopped wearing the Grand Indigo's, they were getting too small since I started lifting again. Went to Blue Owl, Grabbed the Deep Indigo 0702, basically the same jean just deep indigo and still the sulphur weft. Can't wait for the end result. I had to size up 2, fit feels so great I can't wait for the break in. Love the legs, waist is .5" too much but I have the waist soaking in a hot one as I type this. Pics for ya.

    Love how dark these are.

  11. Momotaro Grand Indigo, sorry for so many pics for those that don't enjoy.

They feel and look like they've been getting tighter since I starting lifting again. Don't know how much longer they could stretch for. Was going to sell, wife yelled at me and said they look fine? and I must have forgot they were an anniversary gift hah. Well here ya go.

  12. Momotaro Grand Indigo; Indigo warp, Sulphur dyed weft.

    Original size

    31 (32" waist, 10.25" rise, 11.25" thigh, 8.6" knee, 35.5" inseam, 7.8" leg opening)

After 2 months of wear with about a total of 6 days not wearing.

33.6" waist, 12.2" thigh, 34" hem (jay @ blue owl did the chain stitch hem)

These jeans are amazing the fact that it has a sulphur dyed weft is the reason why I picked them up I knew in the end they'd be beautiful. Sad to let them go right when I was breaking them in. I started lifting again so my legs are getting bigger and I can't stand these anymore.

Here are the specs on them new also pics are on the page new so you can see some detailed shots.

  13. That's the plan stan, sounds weird but. I have honestly never washed any of my jackets haha I just beat the shit at of em on daily wear. I'll jeansmuseum em though!

    ^Theganjalife: Good buying on this

Even with such a cheap rigid Levi denim jacket you can get really nice and great fadings if just never washed over years (if ever)

I have seen such heaviest used Levis jackets tha same style with relly nice and great results.

If you really wanna burn them down the hard way without ever washing them, you can do this for the Jeansmuseum.

It's a very simple rule: Just use the hell out of it for as long as possible without any washings. And if you still have this jacket in 2 or 5 or 10 years just keep it alive for ever. And before throwing it away, just let me know at any time

  14. Needed a cheap indigo raw denim, didnt care about it being selvedge or hidden rivets etc, simply just wanted a raw jacket to fuck up so I got this Levi's "rigid" indigo for 39$. I'd like to thrash this until I make the move on the type II Flathead jacket.

5 days of wear, I like this jacket.

  15. Grand Indigo,

    2nd month

Hard to get the true color of these the blue is so deep from the sulphur dyed weft. The jeans were hanging from the chandalier but I did what I could.

  16. $30 bucks today, picked up this levi trucker, "rigid" as levi calls it. just liked the fact that it has a black weft, indigo war or over dyed actually, i am not too sure. . i am a fan of those combinations, at a reasonable price & something to thrash i saw no reason not to, should fade interestingly. Pretty stiff, should be fun to break in.

  17. I hear you on that, Jay is so good to do business with. Also its so great just going in and out and being able to have your jeans asap haha. Those 0702's look great though, so dark its like a black abyss of some sort.

    Looking good Rob!

    Here's a pair of fresh 0702's

    IMG_20120217_194047.jpg

Would have bought them at your store, but Jay allready had them in stock. Had rather good experience last time I purchased from him, so it was logical to do business with him again.
