Really I'd say it's more of a mid length wool overcoat than a peacoat, you could call it either and AA calls it a peacoat but I think double breasted, bigger collar and shorter length when I think of a peacoat. The length, as most things are, is just personal preference really imo.
AA description says it has 'fitted shoulders' so I knew I'd need a L when just about every other shirt/coat I have is M or equivalent sizes. I assure you the shoulders fit nearly perfect, the seams are right on top of my shoulder just about a quarter inch in from the gap where the joint begins. The only thing was the sleeves seemed to be about a half inch longer than I would have liked.
I left the top button alone and moved the bottom 4 buttons over to form a straight diagonal line outward to make it fitted through the body also making it slightly asymmetrical/off-centered. It fits much tighter by my armpits/sides of chest now and that made the sleeves fit a bit shorter too. Where the buttons were gave it an A shape instead of the V it is now, and when laid flat the side seams weren't actually on the sides but in back. I pulled the front pieces over to where the side seams were the sides then and made sure to line everything up to make it smooth all over for a sleek fit with nothing weird happening with the fabric anywhere and the chest/shoulders are structured so that movement was not restricted in anyway. I took my time and I think it turned out pretty well, the shoulders/chest fit that of a L and the body is more of a S/M which is ideal for my body type.
I just have a rather large frame and broad squared off shoulders but I'm pretty skinny (6'3'' 150-60) so having it fitted through the chest and waist makes my shoulders look even wider by comparison and also the shoulders have a rather defined structure on this coat so that accentuates the shape but my shoulders fill it just right I'd say.
Edit - If you think I look like a jackass that's fine you're allowed to, but I have to say I disagree and there's my explanation as to why.

I've got some lossless Jimi Hendrix Experience tracks on my computer, it sounds like they're in my room. Everything sounds so raw, especially Jimi's voice.

What can I say? Stock flash makes shitty pictures, needed it for proper exposure that wasn't blurry.

At first I thought it was some sort of lame attempt to make something like you'd see on jackass but at the jump cut to the old ladys getting up I fucking lost it.

I'm all about them classics.
Dress chukkas need shine but I don't wear them much and they were cheap so I don't take care of them like I do my AEs and pairs of RWs.

There's a girl in my Logic Design class, of all places, and I want her bad. Total babe, cute face, she got dat ass, dress good and to top it off she's in a fucking computer programming class.
On the way out of class I seen her look me up and down as I made sure to walk to the isle when she was coming by, I could tell she was diggin my Red Wings.
I want to feel her butt. With my hips.
I'm always only attracted to girls that seem to treat me like shit though, not that I enjoy mistreatment and going looking for a girl whose going to do so, just the ones I want always end up to be that type. Something about those femme fatales...
What I'm saying is I wouldn't be suprised for her to turn out to be that type, I guess I'll find out when I talk to her soon enough.

My good ole Red Wing 953s. First boots I owned, just saddle soaped and mink oiled earlier.

Nice, I love my 8114s. Had em for about 8 months now, lots of wear. Recently hit a turning point in wearing them in, they're noticeably softer as well as more comfortable than ever. I thought they were pretty much there until the start of last semester, they kicked the shit out of my feet for a couple weeks. Ever since then they're been really comfortable and just continue to get even more comfortable with wear.
It seems they're just so solid to start with that by comparison they seem more broken in than they are as all the materials are extremely rugged and take longer to wear in, which turns out to be a lot longer than you'd expect. That's how it was for me at least.
The cork soles are so dense it's unreal. These 6 inch boots weigh probably near double that of my 8 inch 953s with supersoles.
Makes it feel like your about to put your foot into a fortress when you grab them to put them on. Mine have become quite malleable and show very little wear for wearing them 4+ times a week walking a few miles everyday. Some complain about the grip but they've always shown great traction to me. Cork soles were the standard for quite a while.
I'll post some pictures of my soles sometime soon, it's pretty unbelievable how little wear is shown for 8 months heavy wear, really shows the life you can expect from these.
