Maynard: I'm out of the loop as I moved out of London just over 2 years ago. I was aware Cinch had closed - went to the Levi's Regent Store expecting LVC would be on sale there (in the basement) - asked where was the LVC and I was informed there was a new store on Marlborough Street.
According to this article it opened October 2020:
Maybe Cinch closed down shortly after the start of the pandemic?

Apologies if already mentioned before.
LVC has a new home in London
Levi's London Haus – 41 Great Marlborough Street.
I managed to visit recently and I recommend you check it out!

Amazing find!!

I could be wrong but it looks like they've made some improvements to the denim compared to the made in Bulgaria junk from a couple of years ago. The only issue is the MIJ are made TTS on the waist, they've not allowed anything for shrinkage!

Might be tempted at 50% as I do like them but silly expensive.
Apart from the Katakana text how do the Limited Japan 501 differ from the standard 1955 Made in Japan? Do they use a different denim? And who is making selvedge now for LVC Japan?

I thought someone might of posted a review of the 1960s Made in Japan by now. I did have a pair in my cart on the Levis UK Store at launch but before I could say "these will probably be returned" all 3 pairs in my size sold out!

I stand corrected. They cost more in Japan and the same price as Japan in USA but they are being priced lower here. I made the mistake of looking at made in Bulgaria models sold in Japan for comparison.

Chest: 24
Length: 26.1
Sleeve: 26
Shoulders: 21The arms feel bigger than normal reminds me of my TCB s40 jacket, I'm going to give it a soak then share the measurements when I get a chance.
I'm happy with it, my only concerns are the bagginess of the arms.
I managed to snag a Cone Denim Made in USA Type 1 a couple of years ago half price. The Store didn't realise what they had and I managed to work out it was most likely a Cone model and not a newly released made in Bulgaria Trash. I got lucky. As I remember the arms were roomy but settled down after it was soaked. I would avoid machine washing - I did mine cold on a delicate cycle but the denim really softened up after that - just soaking retained the deep indigo rigid look which I prefer but it'll get there eventually whatever you do. Your MiJ looks a great repro - looks identical to my made in USA. It's a great fitting jacket.

MiJ 501Z is listed at £210 - basically the same price as it's sold for in Japan.

I wear Roy straight leg style (RS04 etc.) – I have other LVC jeans but the Roy is closest to what I'm after. Thanks for the recommendations. Where can I purchase the 50's in raw?
BTW: how do you size the 50s? – I'm looking at a 1 wash pair of 36 and apparently the waist measures 33.5!!

Neatstyle has some post-soaked measurements but they are a little odd across my TTS tag and sizing up tag.
Sizing up they are an inch to big post wash but going TTS they are 1.5" smaller than I'd like. My guess is these jeans raw are true to tag size on the waist.BTW: made in Turkey and they are selvedge.

I grabbed a pair but it would appear I might of needed to have sized up as END show them measuring small on the waist.
There was one (1) very positive review on the Levi's UK website stating they were a big improvement over last years Made in Bulgaria; however I'm assuming the denim is still sourced from the same mill?
Any earlier reviews in this forum? I guess not!0 -

Are the 1984 any good?

Damit Friedman, I'm going to start wearing mine
- you do know they're a pain in the **** to button-up unless you're left-handed?

It appears that the 1971s were only made in 32 leg for Europe - Japan/USA appears to have the option of 34. Why?
0 -
Did Levi's make all the 1971's with a 32" leg? The pair above and the pair illustrated on the Levi's website are both 32 length which would make them a pass for the majority of peeps who would want to wear them.

Do all LVC 1960 501Z have 30" inseams?
Have been informed they are 32", however the MIJ measure actual label size on waist so need to size up for STF.
Is the stitching white on this model?
