Tiime to breathe some new life in to this thread. This is a cross post from pyc, but I thought I'd share the evolution here. A long wallet I made for my buddy, first pic is brand new with a light tan and oil, the other 2 are after about 6 months of daily use.

Dang Hollows - I'm drooling over that bag.
itsjustnc - Here's that wallet after some use. First image is brand new with a light tan and oil, the others are after about 6 months of daily use.

No worries, I wish I could take credit for the technique, but it's a pretty common one in wallet making. Let's see some pics once you're project is done.

That mini anvil is awesome

Lightleak, imagine the pockets are cut into "T" shapes, then layered, so they do stack in the middle but not on the edges where you sew.
I forgot to mention in my last wallet post, but I wanted to try a little something different so I added a card pocket on the bill side.

Does anyone use 3/4oz for wallet shells.? I'm using 4/5 oz now and im wondering if i should downsize to take a few mm off the total thickness.
Anyone got an aged wallet with a 3/4 oz shell.?
I've used 3/4 for a long wallet for a friend of mind. He's had it for a few months, I'll try to get a photo.
Just finished these 2 slim bilfolds. Chromexcel outside, veg tan inside. The same friend who I made the above mentioned long wallet wanted a slim billfold for his father in law, so I knocked out 2 - one for myself.

Lazybum - That cobra inlay is really great.
Jaw - do you have any more photos of the bag? I'd love to see the inside.

Glad to see the thread's still on fire since the follower-drop thing! Here's a small purse I just finished up for my wife.

^ i dare not say that im proficient in it, but in comparison with a head knife, this makes more sense to me. Cause its two very distinct ways of cutting, pushing vs pulling. Pulling just feels natural to me. I feel like i have more control over the blade.
Whereelse, in comparison to a 30 degree penknife blade... When tackling on curves, you have a lesser tendency to do an "undercut".
Pulling does seem more natural to me as well - good point on undercutting!

I do use the japanese knife. But mostly for skiving. Its great for skiving.
How's it on curves?

I'd be interested to know who uses a head knife as well. Any one use a Japanese cutting knife?

Dang, so much good stuff lately. Theblackgoat - the green is awesome.
jaw - about how big is the cxl bag?
Here's a long wallet I did for myself. The wrap-around piece was definitley a labor of love to sew.

Made this wallet for my wife. She wanted something that was pretty minimalistic and snapped closed.

Cross post from pyc - veg tan coin pouch I made for myself.

TheBlackGoat - Nope it's hand stitched. I experimented with some super skinny thread - I likely will not be doing that again.

Very impressive, as always, TBG!
It seems my dog has developed a taste for Obenauf's LP. I've caught her chewing on some rags, but just today, I discovered that she tore apart a tub of it and ate the contents! Luckily, it was about 3/4 used, and I just bought a backup tub. She also chewed up one of my wood slickers. I guess I'll have to make sure there is always a big rawhide bone around...
One of my dogs loves bees wax! Ate a big chunk like it was candy - I guess it is.
Here's a coin pouch I did for myself a bit ago.

The season's not over yet! Gotta revive this thread. Just got back from a cat boarding trip in Fernie, so fun.

itsjustnc - that wallet is amazing. I'd love to see how the weave wears over time - it must be really nice.
Zippers - much like the rest of the group, I just buy them at a fabric store and cut them as needed.

Wow, the thread has been on fire lately. Here are a couple of simple round lanyards I made recently, one is 8mm one is 6mm. Both about 19" long.
