  1. I wouldn't really call that Harley a poser bike - it's done very tastefully for the style. Solid lines, great stance and no frills. I think using the Indian tank is rad, not only because it has a unique shape, but it's a funny way to throw people off who aren't really paying attention.

None of the club members I know ride bikes anywhere near the stripped down/hardtailed Frisco look - most of the patched 1% dudes in the Bay Area ride ridiculous baggers.

  2. First post in here - thought I'd give a little rundown of some jeans, past and present.

APC New Standard black, started sometime in '07 - ocean washed at 7-8 months, shit tons of washes since. These have been though a lot. Loads of shows, bike riding, freight hopping - I ripped the crotch out on a razor wire fence, hence the ultra bootleg bandanna patch up.

Sugar Cane '47s, great jeans - started tail end of '07(?), worn for about 7 months without wash, again, washed a lot since. Got some real vibrant blues that came out and a lot of motor grease that went in - denim was stubborn. I don't wear these much anymore.

    Currently in rotation:

SExIH07 BKs, heavy as fuck, I rode my bicycle a lot in these, glad I picked up something lighter - great for motorcycles though - warm and durable. Stubborn dye, very tough, I'm hoping that these will last me a quite a while. I've washed them once, they got too gnarly from cycle sweat. Started in October '10. PIcs are pretty ho-hum.

2nd current rotation pair: Samurai 505xx. Nice weight - perfect for daily cycling and work use. Getting some great electric blues starting to pop out, one of the best cuts of jeans I've encountered in a long time. Bottom of leg burned from exhaust pipe, soaked twice, dirty as fuck.

  3. Are any of you in Italy? This right here is about my favorite chest piece, done by Rudy Fritsch. He's in Trieste and I'm crushed because he doesn't have any current plans to come stateside.

  4. Dude, with those over stock glide forks you need to put a tall sissy bar on there with a matching king and queen seat and some serious pullback bars.

Those attack bars look better on bikes with an aggressive look going on, not a chilled out one.

I agree with you on this - but how the bike is going to take form is more of a function of what I have on hand at the time and what I can do myself without having the bike up for too long. Right now I'm throwing the wide glide front end on and stripping all the un-necessaries off.

Ideally I'll get the bike more like the classic 60's/70's look, tall sissy bar and all. These bikes help sum it up for the most part:

It'll come around, just have to take the time to collect and fab up the right parts.

The bike itself is an '86 xlh1100, first year evo sporty.

  5. The handle bars by the rear wheel are going on - gauges are coming off. Hand painting the tank and making a solo seat for it are next, getting rid of the backrest and side mounts. I've got an old chrome wassell style fender and lowered rear shocks to put on. Side mount the license plate and get a different tail light set up. As time and money permits it'll come around but it's pretty awkward right now.

  6. My job is fucking awesome.

I work for a software startup in downtown Palo Alto. We get free breakfast/lunch/dinner, beer, soda, juice, wine, snacks, etc. Anyone you want that they don't stock? Put a request and done. I asked for fresh coffee beans from my favorite coffee shop in Seattle...done. Someone asked for a pizza overnighted from NYC...done. In 2010, the company went through about 133,000 pounds of food for 300 people.

We get a free message each week, free laundry/dry cleaning, free gym membership (that I never use), free parking, $500 monthly rent subsidy if you live within a mile from the company. I visit the onsite chiropractor about once a month and he pops by back and neck into place. It feels amazing.

We had our annual holiday party at the SF MoMA. Rented out the whole place, open bar, 80s cover band, ice sculptures and all that shit.

There's an annual ski trip to Tahoe which the company pays for, including food, cabins and ski tickets.

I come into work whenever I want (usually around 10:30 or 11am) and leave most days by 7:30pm. Although I've worked as late as 10:30pm, it's not a regular thing.

Sounds like you work down the street from me. Palantir?

  7. Get tattoos from people who's work you like. Period.

It has been my experience, however, that the more you learn about tattoos and what a well applied tattoo from a skilled craftsman really looks like - the more most people are willing to pay for quality work.

  8. I am living in Sweden until June and will be in Europe until mid July. Can anyone recommend some 'western/traditional' tattoo artists worth checking out in Scandinavia/Germany/Poland/Italy/Belgium etc...

I am willing to make some trips while I am here.

    Thanks in advance.

If i was in Germany I'd get some work from Chris Dettmer in a heartbeat, dude is super good. Dark, bold traditional style tattoos.

  9. Selling this Schott Perfecto leather jacket. No matter how much I want to wear it it's just too small.

This jacket is really good for: riding motor cycles, leaning against buildings with sunglasses on, swinging a chain around menacingly, having greasy hair, and being obnoxiously bas-ass looking.

It's the classic American made leather jacket, it's used but well worn, only a few minor scuffs in the leather. A seam has come loose under the right armpit as shown in the picture below.

Not exactly sure the true size, I believe it's a 42 - but measurements are as follows:

Chest - pit to pit: 20.5 inches

    Back length: 24 inches

Sleeve - shoulder to cuff: 25

$135.00 Shipped in the continental US.

Reference-wise, I just bought some jeans off D-Rizzle, he's got my address.

  10. dawei69:

"you dont know jack shit about the garmet industry........ roy probably only get $120 for each pair he sells to SE, That bastard Kiya is making all the money"

Ha ha ha, I think you're mad because YOU don't understand the garment industry. Roy getting in stores and increasing his customer base is good for him. Thanks for the negative 'props'. It's the internet, what are you so upset about?

  11. What weight Cone does he use? The heavier stuff runs at over 6 a yard. Materials ain't all that cheap. Patch, rivets, pocket material, buttons etc... Investing in machines, maintenance, workspace - it adds up. People trying to break it down like it's super cheap to make jeans like this. It isn't. And he takes the time to do all the work himself. Dude deserves to be paid.

  12. White is a no-go tattoo wise personally. Skin tones and proper shading on the rest of the mask will get the desired effect. Just find the right dude to do it.
