  1. LOL i have no idea what those kids are, they must be boy scouts or something lol. They are always downtown asking for money for their organization.

I cant really compare them yet, I would say that the x100 definitely more convenient for street photography.

If i had both in front of me and actually had time to set up a shot Id most likely use the D300s.

Most of the shots ive taken with the x100 were just random street snaps. I'll have a better opinion when I actually have time to seriously use it.

  2. wow. just wow. i've used the x100 very thoroughly thank you very much.

would it make your pussy feel better if i said "THE FUJI x100 IS MAD DOPE"

hahaha you can say what you want, honestly you just come off as ignorant. So I assumed you didn't know what you were talking about.

Anyways based on the images in that link i showed you I don't see how you can hate on the camera, especially considering the price. Actually, on second thought.....im not trying to start an argument. I dont give a shit.

  3. Thanks thats Monarch Park in Toronto Canada. I wish I had an ND filter, I hate how the sun comes out over exposed and everything else comes out under exposed. In person the scene looked amazing but without a filter there was nothing I could do to capture it.

lol and I just realized I took this pic of my car like a couple blocks north of where the above pic was taken

    carr.jpg

Both are from when it was snowing, just never got around to posting.

  4. post some shots in the photography thread as soon as you cop!

they're all over camera stores in Mong Kok now...asked about one it is close to 12 G's (Hong Kong currency). Saw a guy on my street walking out with one around his neck today. It really is the most beautiful digital camera I have seen in a while, honestly I'd probably rather shoot an X100 over an M9, Leica for film only (where did that guy nostalgic go)!

I agree,. id rather shoot with the x100. The leica M9 is a special camera, everything about its nice but its huge. I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting with it. Plus thats the kind of camera someone would try to rob you for. I haven't seen the Fuji in person but in the pictures and videos it looks very compact and portable.

damn, where can i buy it for cheap then? cheapest i found online used is 378

Sold mine yesterday morning for 325. Mine is from August 08 so its probably an old model.

    silly question:

are the standard lenses on high-end cameras as standard as the ones which come with cheaper cams like Nikon D5000?

High nikons dont come with lenses.

But yeah the stock 18-55 or 18-105 lenses dont work on Full frame. Well they do but in DX mode, where you only get like 5 megapixels.

  5. Yeah, I think so. Hopefully I'll be able to get enough for the X100 and then some to help my dad put together a starter DSLR kit. I would keep the D300, but it's just too much for me or him. I'm not a photographer.

You could get enough from the 50, sb800, and 18-200 to cop the x100.

Id keep the d300 as a back up and maybe get a cheap lens like the 35 1.8 or maybe sigma 30mm.

Hopefully going to pick my x100 tommorow morning. So excited but also pissed because I'm paying a premium for it. I have it pre ordered somewhere else but It looks like I wont be getting it any time soon.

  6. Hi guys. I have some camera gear for sale. I'd definitely give a good superfuture deal.

    Nikon D300

    Nikkor 18-200 VR

    Nikkor 50mm 1.4 D

    Nikon SB-800 flash

    Getting an X100?

I sold a bunch of my gear to get one but Im still keeping my d300s, sigma 30mm and fish eye.

  7. D60 body and Nikon strap

    Sigma DC 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 ($50)

    Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 D AF (120)

    Nikon DX 55-200mm f/4-5.6 ($100-180)

prices on the lenses are quick grabs from ebay.

Carrying case, charger, lens covers, remote, tripod base, other random stuff.

I'm thinking about selling it with the sigma lens and part the other two nikon lenses. Should I just sell on ebay or go through a forum or B&H?

I guess it depends on where you live, I wouldn't go through the trouble of shipping or dealing with paypal for any of that stuff. I feel like you could sell it pretty quickly locally on craigslist. I started with a similar set up and sold it pretty fast without having to go the ebay route.

You can try nikon cafe but its really hard to sell entry level gear on enthusiast sites. How does that sigma perform? Is it better then the kit lens?

  8. What's a good place to sell/find out prices for used DSLRs? I have a Nikon D60 with 3 lenses and case that I need to get rid of.

just type nikon d60 on craigslist and see what the going rates are.

You'll probably get 200-300 for it the camera with the kit lens.

What other lenses do you have?

  9. the x100 will be better for street photography than the d300s most likely...

    IMG_8120.jpg

x100 is not really better then the d300s at anything technically but it will be more portable and something i can wear my neck and not look like a tourist haha.

The x100 is going to replace my panasonic gf1 and fm2. I love the Panasonic gf1, its just so easy to use and the quality is great but i x100 is something ive been waiting for, for a while and its beautiful.

    by the way great pic!

  10. yeah i was just being too dramatic haha.

I will be keeping the d300s, sigma 30mm, and fish eye. Everything else including the panasonic gf1 will be going up for sale.

I want a fuji x100 but I dont want to come out of pocket.
