  1. So glad football is back. Even though I'm a United supporter, I honestly can't see anyone but Chelsea winning it again. Unless they lose the plot and City remember they are a team and need to play like one consistently to win anything. It will most likely be a closer race this year than last but Chelsea are just so well disciplined that to me it's their's to lose.

  2. Yeah, length of an untucked shirt is a pet peeve of mine. Generally I'm a tucker so it doesn't bother me all the time but most people these days aren't. They go untucked. However, I feel most shirt companies still make their shirts of a tuckable length. Especially the back tail. This just then looks sloppy to my eye.

A short sleeve button up should be a casual, hot weather piece and therefor I think they look much better with a squared off bottom hem and with a length that finishes somewhere close to the tops of the pockets. Even with tails I feel that's as long as the shirt should be.

  3. I can't for the life of me figure out what NBC thought when they put Hannibal on? I love it but it was never going to be a 'hit' show now was it? It's way too dark, artsy and violent for the mass populace. Should have been an HBO, Showtime or at the very least FX show.

  4. Just wanted to give a quick plug to Bicycle Coffee, here in the Bay Area. Better by miles than Blue Bottle (and much nicer people) and I think more flavorful than Four Barrel. I personally like their medium roasted Guatemala varieties. Lots of nice fruity notes. I'm a minority I know in that I really don't like most dark or espresso roasts so these are much more appealing to my taste.

  5. Doing some clearing out. Will provide pictures upon request. All jeans in good condition and have had at least a soak or one wash. Some small signs of wear but still plenty of life left. All prices will be plus actual shipping cost. Payment via PayPal. All sales final.

  6. So I have a pair on hold with John at Speedway. He's being kind and keeping them for me until pay day. Decided to go with the 47's as I like the look of the denim and don't feel like unpicking the lightning arcs. Going one wash as well because i rarely do that and it'll be a change of pace.

Aho giving his 'vintage Levi's' endorsement was a clincher. With these and my ROY's my denim rotation is set for a good while now.

  7. ^ Not sure if serious about the ocean 'wash' or not. Do you realize how much filth there is in the ocean? It is a massive toilet basically and isn't going to get anything clean. There is a perfectly good way of getting jeans clean. It's called the washing machine.

  8. Kiya or anyone else that might know. I have found my perfect jean in the RS04's I acquired a couple months ago and will be really sad once they meet there end (admittedly not for awhile yet) so I was wondering if there is any possibility that Roy might run this cut again ever? In different denim or whatever?

I have a pair of KS1002 as well and love them too but not as much. So I live in hope.

  9. Yeah, this can't be overstated.  When you're working with 50+ year old machines where any part that needs to be replaced involves a scavenger hunt that can involve weeks of time and tons of $$$, something as simple as changing SPI can be a nerve-wracking and incredibly time consuming operation.

Having watched Roy Slaper do the chainstitch embroidery demos at Denimbruin this year it is quite amazing that he does this on all his jeans. The effort it takes to set up this machine alone is huge. Then to work it is a physical feat of energy and co-ordination. This is just one of the machines involved in producing his jeans and all his machines are old and cranky and need a ton of care and attention to keep running.
