Foreword: not an expert, but the waist will stretch out after a week or so. And I did a really hot 2nd soak on my skulls for everything besides the waist, and I never had an issue.

I think I may stop after the first soak. Do you guys recommend a second soak or no?

Go for another hot soak if you want more shrinkage, seems a little baggy in upper thigh, but besides that the fit looks good IMO

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is quite the thread for it..but couldn't really find a better one so here goes.

New to the boot game but I wanted to dabble in some desert or chukka-type boots first. For the money I see between the standard clarks and the jcrew macalisters (though I'd shell out some more for some real quality)

Is there much difference between durability and comfort? I've look all over and haven't seen much definitive comparison. I checked a ton of brands but maybe is there another Crepe sole chukka that I should look into? Thanks guy

to undo the crease a soak of the legs could be a solution...or ironing with steam

Ok I'll just soak it and iron it out. Should I just iron it so the inseam folds correctly or the outerseam? They dont both fold perfectly on each other, prob the way they shrunk..?

I recently got some S003JP and after a hot soak and wash I decided I needed to get them hemmed. That went fine but I guess while I storing them until I could drive over to SE, I folded them and apparently it wasnt on the seam.

So basically now I have a fat ol crease an inch or so off my seam on both sides and its causing the pant leg to twist.

I tried to iron out the seam but it didnt really work that well and I would like to get rid of it before the creases set in and then I get some weird double striping going on with seams.

I hope that all made sense, but do I soak them again and iron out the crease or is there another way? I've already hot soaked and hot washed them for shrinkage but I feel like another soak so early would be kinda dumb (I've worn them after the hem for only 3-4 days).

Hey guys, probably a dumb question but how do you keep you stacks on your jeans the same?

I have had my skulls for about 8 months and I've gotten some decent honeycombs but my stacking on the bottom seems to change a little everytime I put them back on, so no significant fading has happened. Should i just be careful when taking off, or should they eventually just fall in the same place? Do i starch the shit outta them? lolz

I wouldn't worry about the waist, it's the thighs that were the problem last time and this seems a lot better. Could you post post soak measurements?

Waist: 34

Front rise: 9.75

back rise: 14.1

upper thigh: 11.5

knee : 8.5

leg opening: 7.6

inseam 36.5

Here's post wash on my S003JP size 33. I did hot wash then a really hot soak with some dryer action, but the waist is barely tight after like a day of wearing it so I feel I could have sized down. Still diggin the fit just not exactly what im used to. Plus the denim just looks amazing

Cant wait to wear these bad boys in though!

Here are my S003JP sz 33. I sized up like some of you recommended, definitely fits better in the thighs and front rise.

Alright i'm sizing up! Front rise wont be any bigger but it'll let my thighs breathe some. See you all again in a couple days

Doing a cold or warm soak may cause less shrinkage initially but the problem is everytime you wash or soak after that they will continue to shrink until they reach the max shrink size. So really it would just be delaying the inevitable.

I agree with everyone else that sizing up at least one is the best option.

Did you buy somewhere that you can exchange easily?

haha ....true, and yep I bought from BiG, so it wont be much of a hassle to send back, just tryin to decide if they will be too tight. Thanks!

I'm going for a slimmer fit but I'd still like some room for my balls. Think front rise and thighs will shrink that much?

With tax and shippings its about the same as getting from BiG, but if they don't throw in anything special, I'd rather support BiG, plus the hemming. Anyone know? I checked rakuten but didn't see anything on it. Cheers guys!

and was looking at the s003, but I haven't seen much on the site about them. Does anyone have any info on them?

The only Sams I tried were the S0500xx like 3 years ago and they were far to baggy for my tastes. I have some skulls 5010xx if that could be used in comparison at all. Thanks a lot

How slim do you want the leg opening to be, and are there any details that are important to you? Imperial Shearers (which have a pretty high rise) or a 66-based cut might work. I'm partial to Samurai 710s, but they aren't super-slim below the knee.

Well my 5010xx 32s were an 8 prewash, so something around 7.5 prewash. I don't want incredibly skinnier just a slightly more tapered fit, but ya the rise is pretty important too.

I have a pair of 5010xx size 32, which I love but after an unfortunate tailoring accident with tapering the legs, they are too tight on my calves. Also, my sack needs a little more room to breathe.

I thought the 5010 was just a little too baggy past the knee, but I overdid it. Any ideas on something a little more tapered and more crotch room?

I was looking at the S003, haven't seen much but of what I've heard they look pretty good. Plus I'm a fan of sams, but I'm open to other alts. Thanks guys

Ya...I wish it wasnt just an outline. I didnt realize my old case was doing that til it was too late and now the rest of it doesnt fade at all because its stretched out
