  1. Vintage Brooks Saddles For sale $100 each. They are both from mid 1970's Raleighs and were barely ridden. They show some signs of age but are in great condition.

One is a black Brooks Professional with medium copper rivets

Second is a brown Brooks B17 with small copper rivets (comes with the Brooks seat post clamp as well)

  2. do the narrow wesco's have single or double welt stitching, it's hard to tell from that picture? is that brown upper stitching on them? and yet another question, I should order them as Motor Patrol Toes, but that will lower the heal 1/2". But the highliner heal will then raise that heal correct? I thought the highliner heal was more like a cuban heal as far as it being curved, not much taller. Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to the custom build world.

  3. Wgmds, thanks for the info. :) I mostly needed to figure out the last, the sole, which black to go with and which toe option would result in the closet look to the narrow wesco. i know the buckles/ stitching/ embossing is not possible, i guess the shape is the most important part followed by the black leather choice. So you think black fire? I'm thinking that the heal needs to be 1/4 or 1/2 shorter as well. But as for the out sole stitching, it looks white to me. How did you know what last I should ask for? Do they have a side by side comparison of lasts on the wesco site?

  4. FUCK those boots are slaying me! I think they are hands down the best looking engineer along with Road Champs. I need to sit down and figure out how to order custom wesco's so they come out looking just like the narrow wescos.

I like Wedge Soles on oxfords, but I wish they were a tad darker. But they do get dirty quickly.

  5. Deluxe, You have both the MF Road Champs and the RRL Engineers, and you wear a 12 in the RRLs. So what do you wear in the MF Road Champs? My Road Champs are a 7 and fit great, but I wear a 7.5 in Red Wings. So would an 8 in RRL work in your opinion? I'm torn between the studded RRLs or custom Wesco's for a black pair.

  6. @satchelbmoore: beware you or your gf might get yourselves in a little trouble if you inadvertently adopt the full-on OG skinhead look LOL.. that being said there are definitely some strong aesthetics within that movement that i myself incorporate in my daily wear (barracudas, ma-1s,1460s, sta-prest, 505's..) i just make sure to not wear them all together! i suggest checking out the fantastic "This is England" movie if you are not too familiar with the original skinhead movement originating from the UK (which to me has been kinda ruined by boneheads across the world..which the film touches upon)

about the 54z, i think you nailed it on the head.. it's definitely a good lvc initiation model, it was my first LVC coming from APCs (which i now have all donated to the gf). but they are now my least favorite pair, too modern or something!

Technically "THIS IS ENGLAND" was not the first skinhead wave, but in fact more of a mid point in the skinhead movement. The original skinheads were Jamaican. :) "THIS IS ENGLAND" shows the second wave of skinheads after the politics came into the movement and ruined it.

I think the 54's are great jeans. I love mine. I think the only thing I hate is the quality of the Talon zipper. It's just shitty in comparison to Gripper Zippers or regular Scovil zippers of the same time period. The denim is great on the 54's and the back pockets are a great shape and placement. I highly suggest getting them.

  7. I am usually a 38 in everything and I have both the black and brown MM's in size 38 and they fit great. I have a size 36 in the Deck Jacket and it's a little tight in the shoulders/ upper arms at times. The MM is slim in the body, but the arms are a tad roomier, so I would suggest getting a size 38. I recently got my brown MM off of Rakuten as a "used" jacket, and found once arriving that it was brand new!!! I got it for $330 before taxes and shipping, so it still came in under $440 which was a steal! You might want to check Rakuten out.

  8. My Pantaloon fly buttons all got rusty after two long soaks, but I really liked it for that old time feel. :) But my other 6 or so pair of LVC's never rusted. I love seeing hardware rust and oxidize so I didn't mind it.
