  1. Baldy, I think I made it too confusing. I decided on a single leather mid sole with the 700 sole.

I did NOT want the front of the sole to be very think. Two layers max. I just made my questions/ ramblings too confusing. I apologize for that. :) I just can't say what I was thinking correctly.

  2. Can you have a double midsole, a single leather sole and a 705 Vibram half sole?

Or does that not work, and therefore you'd have to have a single midsole, a single leather sole with the 705? Sorry to sound confusing... I'm just thinking of every option before ordering.

this pair has a single midsole with a 705 half sole. Does it have a single or double sole?

  3. UPDATE on Custom Wesco Boss Boots from Kyle at Bakers:

They can NOT get Wesco to make Custom Boss Boots with a Motor Patrol Toe and the Highliner/ Cuban heal. I talked to Kyle today about ordering a boot very similar to the Narrow Wescos from Japan. They will simply not do it. You can get a Motor Patrol toe, but it has to be accompanied by the motor patrol heal; a short straight heal. Therefore you can not get the look of the Narrow wesco any longer without actually ordering them from japan. But you could always get Bakers or another cobbler to simply take off the motor patrol heal and add on a taller stacked leather cuban heal. A few pairs were made through Bakers, but they slipped through. Wesco is being very tight now on the agreement with Wesco Japan that they can't produce anything to compete with the narrow wesco. :(

The Wesco price changes that John mentioned on Vintage Engineer Boots Blog are WAY higher than I could have imagined. Every custom option is going up in price.

So Beetus, if you want custom Wescos, you better put that order in before April 1st!!!! You will save significant money.

And as far as the White's custom engineers now on Bakers, Kyle said that it should be no problem to order them without celastic reinforcement in the toe. So they will be soft toes. He is already talking to White's Boots about getting far more options for the custom boots. :)

  4. I just received a pair of Riders Dungaree's with the Japanese one wash. They are much softer than the soaked ones I tried on at the MF store.

Do Japanese One Wash jeans have any future shrinkage? Or does the one wash that the Japanese have for sale take out all of the shrinkage?

These stretch out a full inch in the wasit correct?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Haha I'm okay with the ladies wearing size 27's. I love your style!

Pants Shop Avenue, duh! I just ordered from them the other day. They do have a pretty absurd Denime collection.

  6. Beautiful Freak,

I'm dying to know... how many pair of quality jeans do you own? And what the hell do you do for a living to afford them all? :)

  7. I've spoken to a few people who claim that their was a batch/ batches of the RRL engineer boots made by Julian which were a poor fit (super tight instep) and therefore you had to go a size up from your normal size in order to get them on. But I believe Julian "fixed" this issue with the later run that he made. I'm not 100% sure how to tell which is the new or old run, or the correct sizing and which was made with the super tight instep, but like I said a lot said to size up if you want to get them on. It's tricky. I still have not found a size 7 to purchase, so I can't add my own opinion yet.

  8. I hate smoking and cigarettes, but the designs of those two patents are awesome. I love how thought out they are, just a pocket, but a pocket with a purpose!

  9. WGMDS

The Speedway pants are very slim and fit small, so I think you will love them. The material is awesome. It's thick and feels very sturdy. They have no belt loops or coin pocket, therefore they look very slick from the front, very clean looking. Although I would remove the patch where the normal coin pocket would be, as it detracts from the pants. The patch looks good on the creme pair though. About fit, I'm a size 32 in most MF pants, but in the speedways I need a 33 or 34 waist. The 34's that were one wash at the Mister Freedom store fit me perfectly. The 33's were a bit tighter than I wanted. So I recommend them but go at least 1 size up.

  10. The new shaft is so much better than the pictures of his original boots. The originals were huge around the calf. I'm glad he made that change. Also, I love the the brown upper stitching turned black because they look so slick with all black stitching. I'd love to see some comparison shots of your HTC and your MF Road Champs.

  11. What's the height of those Ray? And the upper and welt stitching colors... black on both? Did you get the shaft narrowed at all from his original last or is that the standard shaft width?

For those wanting to see more, Ray's Flicker has a lot more pictures of those beautiful boots.

Speaking of that, what is the other boot in the first picture with the HTC?
