Finally ordered 47 501 from cultizm last night. How much shrinkage should I expect from sz 36? Hopefully they will shrink a lot... I want the hem to be below 8.5 inches...I believe they were 9 for raw.

I love the concept of blue shadow but blue stitching on the back pocket is kind of weird. So the black version will have black stitching all over? or just the back pocket?

Yeah, measurements are essential: My rigid 47's are tagged 33", measures 32" when raw and shrink to 30.5"after soak (but stretch back to my real 32"waist while wearing). Even prewashes differ a lot sizewise, the prewashed 66 "rodeo hero" e.g. is tagged 30" and measures nearly 32"- just an example how strange LVC measurements are.

There is my dilemma. I usually wear size 34 denim and i tried 34 and they were bit tight in the waist. So I figured i need to get 36. But the fit of 36 was too baggy and i wasn't sure they would shrink to the point i want them to be. And i tried 33 just for the sake of it and i could button the waist. If they stretch back to the original waist should i get 34? I'm thinking 35 would he perfect but they don't have that..

Am I under the right impression that If I buy 1947 501 in Rigid, its measurements will come out to be same or similar to washed versions of 1947 501?

Damn.. They are out of 36x36...

Even if it isn't, that creates a problem, too. It's very tight in the waist but too roomy in other areas. I wish the waist would stay the same and others to shrink a bit, which is why I was tempted to do a hot soak with the jeans on.

I can't say for sure whether they are shrink to fit or not. There is a way to find out...

Received Thom Browne selvedge jeans from Barneys today. They say it's 12oz but feels much thicker. Hairy texture. I bought 4 but I could barely close the waist. I usually wear 33-34 on jeans and was able to button all the way on 32 APC NS. Details are not bad. Blue selvedge, chainstiching, rivets on back pocket corners, etc. However, it's short. If they are shrink to fit, they will be too short for me, and the waist will be a disaster. Also, their buttons are the weakest I've ever seen. One of the popped the moment I wore them and I've seen 5 different pairs of Thom Browne Jeans in the past and not one of them had all the buttons.

I bought the pair because I loved the idea of kevlar denim but never got to wear it because I have too many pairs of jeans and the fit is not what I desired.

This pair did not have the top button from the beginning (it wasn't torn off or anything. it just didn't have one) so I emailed Naked and Famous and received bunch of buttons and installed one. Not the best job but it gets the job done.

No wash, No soak, Nothing altered. Worn couple times.

There goes my plan to buy a pair. I was going between 710 and PBJ 013 and leaning towards 710 because it seemed like it had longer rise but if it is much thicker, then I won't be able to wear it in LA.. maybe if I move to NY or somewhere cold..

Just got these 710xx, I can't believe it took me this long to jump into premium Japanese Denim after all my time with APC's and the like. The details on the Samurai's are AMAZING. I can never go back now.

How's the fit and thickness of the denim compared to APC NS?

Size 32, 2 down from what I usually wear in jeans.

I tried petite size 2 down but they were literally skin tight.

I was under the impression that these would fit basically same as my NS marine noir sz 32 but they are bit different due to the rigidity of the denim.

I'll try to wear these as much as possible but Summer is coming and this is socal..

Hmmm, I am thinking about getting either Samurai 710 or PBJ 013.. But I'm worried 19 oz will be too thick to wear in sunny socal. Anyone has an opinion?

Love the faux noir color but too bad it's petite standard cut.. I guess I should just stick with my marine noir NS.

Which cuts give similar fit as APC NS? because I'd like to have 8' leg opening for my size of 34. I assume both 011 and 013... I really love the color of 010 purple face but I don't think I will like the fit..
