Just wanted to add my two cents worth that I dont think im that bothered by Visvims prices as long as they can constantly increase their quality (or their take on quality) on their products, which I believe they are doing. I've always bought and hopefully always will buy their virgils. And I can definately see them climbing up to a 100,000 yen mark in a few years (if they still make them). And as long as they keep to their ideals, i believe that there will always be a strong flow of buyers.

Just what i think anyway.

what is the evidence of quality increase? to say their prices raises are justified is plain nuts.

its the demand thats driving the prices as has been said and the fact that Hiiroki is realising his ambition to make it a luxury brand on par with hermes, bottega et al.

i'm 5"10 and 12 stone - fits a treat. if you're thin enough to get in band of outsiders you should be fine!

out of interest, is the catalogue actually out for this season or would love to see full scans if anybody has?

I was doing my best to pass on the Gris Moc-Folk, but I am considering a pair...anyone have any info on the fit. They seem a bit more bulkier and less narrow than typical folk footwear.

Gris moc absolutely true to size. Was gonna pass on a jp proxy (despite Yom's invaluable help) because of nt knowing how they'd look. Then cane across 'em in Colette and with exchange rate they were as cheap as jp and 100 notes cheaper than UK !! They fit beautifully and while being a little big in the toe cap they look and feel absolutely superb. My main worry was whether they looked too big rather than the fit but my fears were allayed. However if you are a big size or are buying the larger version of the shoe(which def looks more voluminous) i'd slightly worry (i got US10) they seemeda bit clowntown.

i think overall you're right - definitely weaker than usual.

and its maybe repetitive but the pricing is bananas - and i think FW11/12 will hit new heights - suede elemendorf = many bags of sand!

fbt's will be triple what you paid for 'em, and that's without getting into some of the strange jedi robe's that are being introduced..... and wait for the lobster shoes....
