  1. STONE OIL COWHIDE LEATHER SUPERIOR QUALITY

This leather has a deep richness because it has been treated with oils, waxes and dyes in such a way that when the leather is pulled or stretched, the finish becomes lighter in the stretched areas. Creating an “Old World†effect and “Aged†look.

An inspiration from the 50s bridge builder, who use similar pouch to store bolts and nuts.

    'Market Wallet' theme.

Able to hold coins, loose notes, some cards and also a hook for keychain.

Idea is to travel light on short market trips, grocery shopping, relaxing at nearby cafes... Just hook on your keychain, slot in the neccessary cards, dump in some small notes and you are ready to go :)

  2. how would all of you leather creators recommend making a chain similar to this tfh one? really, i just don't know where to find the leather. thanks!

leather used is normal soft lacing leathers, cut to size for braiding. however, you gotta really respect such braiding technique, it requires alot of focus to during the work.

  3. Follow suit.. here are some leather stuff I'm using at the moment.

    Taking pics altogether

Bonus, the denim is starting to show some fading on the bending potion.

  4. im interested in making things out of a mix of leather and denim like salaami, can someone link me to information about how to start making things like that.

hm...strictly to making a mix of leather and denim, I'm sure it is out of innovation and wont have any informations online to read about. At the most, probably just some pics to shown.

But if you wanna learn basic leathercrafting, there are plenty of forums, websites that offer such info.

For a one-stop pics browsing, check out supershopper, Leather PYC thread. Or...try google.

  5. haha yeah, i might next time. but i just really wanted as slim of a wallet as possible width wise :) so you're thinking i could stretch it out though? would shoving two cards per slot work out? (i currently have a card in each slot to stretch it out)

Yeah, try it out. Exercise the slots by shoving/ pulling the cards out a few times, see if there is some looseness.

    Hey everyone,

Made this pencil case/pouch a few days ago. Schools about to start and I wanted something to TRY and stay organized. I know its a little large for just pens/pencils but I figure the extra room will allow me to carry other small items instead of simply getting lost in the bottom of my bag.

The leather is probably 15+ years old, as I found my dads old bag of scraps when he bought it originally to make winter moc-boots. I know there are a few parts that could be cut cleaner to make it more 'finished' but it will serve its purpose well.

    Nice leather combination :)

  6. i was just wondering because i'm making a wallet with 3/4 oz leather, but my card slots are a little snug. The cards fit, but it's a reallyy tight fit.

Ah...maybe next time, you can try making it a little bigger for some allowance. But leathers will stretch after some 'exercises' or usage, so snugly fitting may turn out just fine :)

  7. Nice leather aging everyone :)

More Evos (and shameless plug since its for sale:) ) of my obbi good RM style wallet. Its FINALLY starting to get character...

This may be quite late, 1 week ago....Sorry MikeS, wasn't checking this thread until now.

The wallet is progressing nicely, slow and steady. Grains, petina and colour are all evolving all together :)

  8. @obbigood what weight of leather do you use for your wallets usually?

would rep, but you're too good, so i gotta wait.

    Thanks!

There are many good leathercrafters here too :)

There is no exact standard of wat weight to use for wallet making. It depends on wat the crafter wants. When you want thicker wallets, or thicker leathers looks better, then use it and vice versa for thin leathers.

For me, personally, I'd use a variety of leathers for prototypes, 2/3oz - 7/8oz. For orders, it really depends.

  9. OGL wallet and belt. wallet is at 3 weeks and belt 6 months (3 months worn)!

Amazing! Just 3 weeks and the wallet becomes so dark and indigo stained, TF!

Should have posted at the Leather Evolution thread :)

Anyway, my leathers and hand-stitchings will definitely last, even how hard you beat it.

I really love how you have got the edges stained with indigo in the 2nd pic, keep them coming, my friend :)

Saw some bi-folds by my friends here, and was inspired to do likewise :)

Just a simple gentleman's wallet, card slots, top down bill slots, with black threads and burnished edges.

Oh...and initials stamping, just for fun :)
