I ended up wearing a white waxed cotton Julius jacket, because I kind of wanted to stand out from the black jackets that everyone else was wearing but still keep it monochrome, along with a plain black t-shirt, some waxed Julian Reds and my faithful combat boots. I kind of wanted to keep it simple.

Yeah seriously, it's definitely possible but I wouldn't dream of altering the boots like that unless you're absolutely sure that it's what you want and you don't want to re-sell them ever again
