    To add to this…

My Peat Graph sweater is more desaturated and greycast. IIRC the Peat Partition AR was like.. definitely brown. lol

Ash is pretty consistently mid-grey with a slight purplecast on my Nemis, Field OS, and Graph Cardigan.

Soot on the Frame tee is definitely deep medium grey, but on the Indisce pant it's lighter and greener. On my monitor coat Soot looks more purple/grey to me similar to the ash but darker

damn i want that peat graph, got fit pics?

  2. Guys need some advice.

Doing a trip to Vancouver/Seattle/Portland in late February and planning to go up to Whistler, as well as some hiking here and there.

Was eyeing the Hoka One One Ultra Tor Hi boots, but is it really necessary to have waterproof boots? Don't want to spend that much for only a couple of weeks wear, especially since I live in warmer climates usually..

Would I be able to get away with my Red Wing leather lace up boots ?

Has anyone bought the peat monitor down?  Looks like a great colour but I've only seen them in studio shots.

Also, do AV's colour vary even though they're called the same name?  The peat monitor down looks different than the peat field pants.  Also, I've seen several shades of soot across their pieces.

I'll like to know this too. I've actually already pulled the trigger on the Peat Monitor Down, but haven't received it yet..

I loved the look of it in Haven's product shots, but then on AV's site its more a forest green..

Monitor Down is awesome and feels much warmer/better isolated then the Galvanic. The Galvanic made me looking like an undertaker. You‘re lucky, I have the Monitor Down here, so I‘ll take a photo... give me a minute.

    Here you go...

Actually pretty everything I‘m wearing on this picture is AV...

Did you size up at all?

Did you see the Peat colour? Thinking very seriously about grabbing that over the black..

  5. So I got the articulation channel pants in and they seem a bit too big for me (got the 46).

I'm pretty much a true 29, and although these are not super big, but still 1-2inches too big for me I think (I can't wear them without a belt)

Maybe im not used to loose fit pants as well, so I'll have to see how I style them with other pieces before deciding whether to keep them. Or unless someone wants to trade a 44?

just returned to australia after from an 8 day HK holiday. unfortunately we lost one entire day and night due to a T8 typhoon warning (entire city basically shut down), although we left the hotel to basically walk a lap and it didn't seem that bad. cannot fathom how MALLS close down in that, but regardless, we had an amazing trip and i couldn't help but automatically contrast it to singapore which i visited in may. ate at everywhere from local dim sum to michelin starred italian. i realised that i am melancholic leaving destinations these days, as i realise that realistically i am probably never going to visit them again due to time/money/wanting to travel to so many other locations. accomodation (hotel icon) was fantastic and sufu guide was pretty good too.

edit: have lots of coffee and food recommendations if needed.

I'm an aussie living in Hong Kong, would be interested to hear what you thought were the good coffee and food spots in hk..

I was the same, felt melancholic when heading home after my holidays in HK, then just decided to move here..

Nice, Thanks for that. Looking forward to checking out the coffee.
I live in Hong Kong, Omotesando Koffee is still operating, but didn't know the owner went back to Japan.

Too bad I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I'm a sucker for a good Almond Croissant. If I had time to only check out one place to find it, which bakery would I head to?

  8. Need some up to date advice from the Tokyotes

    best coffee joints?

must eat food joints? best burger in tokyo?

what's the best chance to cop sneakers? specifically looking for the flyknit trainer in white, and tom sachs mars yard 2.0..

  9. hey, does anyone have onset recommendations for around Kyoto or Osaka.

Not planning to stay in an Onsen hotel overnight, just for a few hours during the day kind of thing.

    Thanks

  10. Well I was in BKK last weekend, just did a tiny bit of research and these are the places I visited:

    Coffee -

Rocket Bar was nice, food was okay but sitting outside on a quiet street with a coffee was chill as f.

Kuppa was a nice place to go for brunch, food was excellent.

    Food -

Got suggested a place called Taling Pling at Central World, great Thai food.

    Bars -

Actually didnt get to do much drinking, but ended up at Red Sky Bar at Centara Grand one night.

Also another night went to Khao San Rd for kicks, but got out of there quite quickly.

    Shopping -

Just did the usual malls, Central World etc..

Siam Square was ok as usual, bought some Blind Barber pomade from one of the boutiques there.

MBK is shitty, I used to visit there as a younger guy and loved to shop there, but realise how tacky it is now.

Chatukchak, this was actually the first time i've been here, despite visiting BKK like 5 times, was fun exploring and eating here, managed to buy an Alpha Industries bomber from one of the vintage shops..

Coffee go to Casa Lapin in Ari or on Soi 26 Sukhumvit. Also Rocket Coffeebar on Sathorn Soi 12.

Rooftops. Vertigo at Banyan Tree, Sirocco. These places can get a bit crowded. I also like Scarlett at Pullman G on Silom.

Speakeasys/jazz bars are the thing right now with Maggie Choo's, Iron Fairies, etc.

Not much outerwear like Acteryx. The best you'll do it North Face at any mall. There is no market for this stuff given the weather.

For boutiques, go to Siam Square and explore the alleys. Used to live in BKK for 9+ years but this stuff may be out of date. Things change there quickly.
