  1. (did a search, sorry if i missed something)

just noticed BIG charges $255 for raw 811s and $225 for one wash. isn't that backwards (at least from a manufacturing cost perspective)? same jeans, without the wash process, $30 more? (yeah, i'm a little butthurt about this)

and when is that eternal contest supposed to happen?

"ipkus and the search for the holy grail."

I think it is mostly to do with supply and demand.

As someone above pointed supply = limited and the consensus I get is that here in the states a lot of people prefer raw.

So if people are paying at $255, then there's no point in lowering the price. BiG is a business so I don't really blame them.

  2. Mine matched up...stupid question but are you evening out the top of the waist so that the front is on top of the back? A common mistake that sometimes is missed...

haha yeah I'm lining the top up.

Plus if you line the top up that usually will increase the measurement length from if you hadn't :P ....at least I think it usually does .

I could understand if the measurement was off ~.5 inch in either direction, but a 36 is not even close to a 34 no matter how you measure it.

  3. argh.....is anyone else getting really erratic measurements from cultizm???

I returned my 47's and got the 78s. I specifically requested a pair that measured 34 inches pre-soak....I was told to get the tagged 33s b/c they measure 34 presoak ..... well the 78s just arrived...and they measure 36 inches pre-soak (tagged 33).

The only possible explanation I can think of is that they thought I meant I need a pair that measures 34 inches post-soak. That or they are measuring the jeans in a completely different way than I am.

In any case sorry to rant, I can't decide whether to try and make them work or not.

I don't really want to eat the shipping cost of another return to Germany so I might be selling these.

PM me if you have any interest in a pair of 33x36 78s.

  4. hahah i strongly support Medine's suggestion.

the grand prize increase linearly to the function of total participants number

    :confused::confused::confused:

I think i remember learning what this meant in high school.... lol

  5. As the risk of repeating myself, go from measured size, not nominal. Most 47s are undersized one inch, spring 09 were true to size. Email Cultizm to check the size of their current stock.

(Perhaps I should add this phrase to my sig).

    Second this.

I received some 2009 47s from cultizm. They were a tagged 36 and the waist measured ~36.5 inches. I had to exchange them.

When I talked to cultizm they indicated they had some 2009 stock and some of the undersized older stock.

  6. Haven't had the chance to go through every message in this thread, but I've looked at a lot of them. Haven't seen anything about the '78 501s. Any thoughts on them? The woman I'm currently seeing is into my denim, and likes the '78s since they're what she wore back in the high school. So, I'm thinking about getting a pair. Would heavy weight '55s be a good way to describe the fit of the '78?

I have some 78's coming for the LVC contest. If you can wait till december I'll have fit pics then I'm sure.

  7. I just orded a pair 1978 to join the contest. let hope we dont have to wait ´till Jan to start

If you don't mind me asking...how'd you size yours?

Whats your measured waist and what tagged size did you get?

    I'm a true 34 and I got the 78's in a tagged 32.
