  1. Yeah, I'm concerned about the fit too.  I really want to try it but not willing to risk the $290 since they don't offer a refund return policy.  I hate when places don't offer a refund policy...even if you want to charge a reasonable restocking fee, I'm cool with that, I get that it's a hassle and there are some costs involved, but I just don't want to get stuck with a credit for something I don't really want/need.

    Oh well.

  2. Loving the look of that denim shirt.  Been thinking of adding a denim shirt to my closet as I've never had one before.  This seems like solid option as my green MF chambray is still one of my favorite shirts to wear.

  3. KMW belts are a great deal at $95.  I wanted one for years but knew that $360 was just a ridiculous price and while they were nice they weren't that nice. They were stupid at $360, I don't think any leather belt is worth that unless the buckle is made out of something valuable.  But, at $95 I think the KMW belt is a steal for the quality of leather and the fantastic design of the buckle.  I bought three of them.

I have a few Tanner Goods belts, a Jean Shop, and a couple Context house brand as well.  They are all nice but the KMW is at another level for sure.  Based on what those sell for I'd say $150-200 would be a fair normal price for the KMW probably, so the current price is really good even if the original price was just stupid..

  4. I think they are sanforized, but not 100% sure.  The ones from 2011, of which you can find reference to on the Blue Owl website with a search for "KMW 1980 sanforized", are listed as sanforized and they are the left-hand twill fabric w/ the wide outseam...so guessing they are the same for this final run at Context.

  5. agree, I think the fit looks good.  I hear they'll stretch some, don't know about shrinkage...I'm just wearing mine raw and don't plan to wash them anytime too soon.  Mine fit about the same, top button is tight (not uncomfortably so, but tight) and then I have just the right amount of room through the thighs.

  6. Well, it's not pricing set by KMW.  Context bought up all their remaining stock for what I'm guessing was a negotiated price to take on a whole lot of stock.  So they got it all for a good deal and are just passing it on by marking it up based on what they paid for it and not what it would normally sell for.  Pricing goods of this quality like this is probably not sustainable.  Seriously...jeans of this quality for $150 is crazy and the belts are just insane at $95.  No way that they could run profitably at these levels...if so I'm sure someone would be doing it and stealing business from everyone.  So in a way, they are like markdowns....but not really in that these particular goods were never offered at full price first.

All goods except the sweatshirt seem to have been offered before so there is original retail pricing available to find...I haven't seen the sweatshirt before though.  At the current price it's a steal...no idea what it would have sold for at real retail if KMW had intentions to keep going.

  7. Tried on the sweatshirt tonight...very nice, mid-weight I'd say, solid feeling fabric though. It is not a tube bod construction like most loop wheeled sweats....neither was the old crew neck terry sweats they did...but that makes them fit a little nicer than the tube body sweatshirts I've tried on.

I'm sad to see them go too...KMW has always had some great product, though a lot of it was quite pricey at regular prices (denim always seemed fairly priced, everything else was pretty high) so maybe that is part of the reason for them closing shop. Stock up now if you like their stuff...I sure did.

  8. Almost, I think Blue Owl used to have them at $360 regular price. Insane for a belt...but such a nice belt. I wanted one years...finally have one....okay, so I finally have three (natty in 34 and 36, brown in 36). Prices were just way too good to pass up. Also grabbed two pair of raw 1980s.

  9. Not sure how old it is but it's in great shape. This is a US made 60/40 parka from Sierra Designs. They've recently re-released these and they retail for $400. This is the original and it's a classic for good reason. In really excellent vintage condition, this obviously did not see a lot of use and I have only worn it a few times. It has been cleaned and re-treated with DWR so it actually does provide decent protection in the rain (they come with DWR, durable water repellent, but it wears off over time, most vintage jackets would need to be retreated for it to be a functional parka).

    Size large:

    P2P-24.5

    length- 32

sleeve (cuff to center back)- 34

Construction is raglan sleeve so no shoulder measurement available and same with traditional sleeve measurement. I wear a large in EG and Gitman and this fits me nicely for a parka, not really slim but not too baggy either.

$125 - Price includes shipping in CONUS.

  10. What size did you get and do you find it heavy to wear?

I got a 40. It's a little heavier than I expected which I like as it just feels incredibly sturdy. Fit is unique, it fits well in the chest and shoulders but it gets pretty big at the bottom. That is just the cut of this style of jacket though, but it takes some getting used to. For reference I wear a large in Gitman and EG.

  11. just picked up a M-43 jacket from History Preservation on sale for $245, what an amazing piece. Love the material and details on it. Fit is a little different, it's pretty large at the bottom even though it fits nice and trim through the shoulders and chest. Really like it though and had great service from History Preservation helping me decide which size was going to be the right choice.

Before this I had only had a BR sweatshirt in the past and never could get comfortable with the fit. After experiencing this jacket I now want to try more of their stuff. And after seeing pictures of how that chambray shirts wears in over time I'm thinking it may have to be that....what an amazing looking shirt.

  12. you know, I don't love the faux cap-toe of the SE Alden myself, but I have to give them credit for creating a truly unique Alden boot in a market where it seems everything has already been done before. I do really like the lady calf and all eyelets they selected.

  13. I have a ihsh-21 in size large for sale. Been worn just a handful of times and has had one cold wash/hang dry. Shirt is in perfect shape, chainstitch runoff intact, and has the little button backer things which i don't believe they do anymore. Measurements are pretty much spot on with what the ih website lists for a large, maybe a little closer to 22" p2p than 22.5" though.

    Shoulder - 18

    P2P - 22

    Sleeve - 25.5

    Length - 29.5

    Any questions please ask. SOLD

hmmm...can't get image to load, you can see it here:
