  1. ^^ I'd recommend PBJ's, considering ur height/weight combo and your stated less curvy figure. APC PS is a decent option and the fact that you can try them on is great. However, if you are simply worried about the fit, you can take measurements of your favorite pair or pairs of jeans and look for something close to that. For the most part nowadays, online stores do get the fit quite accurate. Besides, you can call around and ask for advise specifically. I feel that most people in the denim specialty stores tend to be less aggressive about sales and more so interested in helping people find the right product.

  2. Hi,

I bought a pair of black Common Projects Postal Boots at a sample sale here in NYC. Never got around to wearing them. I'm selling them at cost: $200 at a loss: $180. Like all CP, it's a size 42 that fits more like size 43. If you are a US 9.5 to 10.5 (depending on the width of your feet), it'll fit perfect. The condition is not 100% because it was a sample sale product, but I'd say 95%.

If you are in NYC, I'd gladly meet up and sell them in person so you can avoid the S&H cost. Otherwise, $220 within continental US (it's rather heavy).

    Thanks.

If there's at least one person interested, I'll post up pics right away. I can't be bothered atm. The following is a picture I got online:

  3. pardon the awful iphone pics. here are the fit pics of big contest jeans i started wearing for 2-3 weeks. it'll try to get better pics later - i think my roommate has a dslr

that knee bagging is the only thing i don't like about the jeans atm. hopefully the denim relaxes soon - still quite starchy/stiff.

  4. yea i dunno about the "overblown" personality - actually i don't even know what that means - is that a good thing? but so many of us post on waywt and other threads with our faces blurred/covered all the time. so maybe we all have this "overblown"ness.

also, imho, ringring is probably the most knowledgeable person on the singular topic of denim on sufu, which is to say he knows his shit. so maybe he knows so much because he works in the industry and does not want to be known by his employer or whatever.

although the model is "black" - it's nowhere close to being black. it's more brown-grey. sorry about the low res iphone pics.

  6. haha sure thing. tho they haven't really evolved at all, i hurriedly took some pics of the 1734 this morning and i'm currently wearing them, so i'll post them up later today once i have fit pics as well. mind u, they are all iphone4 pics.

  7. hi guys.

don't really post that much but wanted to share that i recently started breaking in two pairs of FC's: brand new 1108c (had it in my closet since last summer) and a pair of "black" 1734 jeans, which i haven't seen on this thread. i'm new to FC denim, and i quite like how hairy they are. maybe i'll get around to posting some pics if interested.

  8. So I stopped by this shop maybe 2months ago, it was empty except for one customer getting something made bespoke. Idea is definitely unique if not great. Is it a viable business, that is the big issue. I cannot deny that they provide awesome choices, probably quality construction (I'm simply going to assume that), and a unique experience. However for the denim-obsessed bunch we have here, including me, the final product does not stand head and shoulders above others. And so I cannot see how the above "average" NYC denim consumer, no matter how sophisticated he/she may be, will be willing to put down $400 for a pair from 3x1 over other places. Hardcore NYC sufuers have difficulty choosing from all the choices to be had in BIG, seny, 45rpm, as well as online sources. Looking at the retail space this store/factory takes up, the overhead must be huge and I don't know if there is business out there for them to remain there. Perhaps the smarter thing would have been to have had a smaller showroom and a factory elsewhere. I legitimately cannot see who their target consumers are. Denim heads will most likely drop $800 on 45rpms before they would even consider doing that here. While the avg shoppers never want to pay that much to begin with. And affluent older consumers would probably buy designer jeans because that's all they know. If anyone here works at 3x1 I'd like to hear how the business has been and who r ur typical clientele?

  9. I'm a true 5'8" (173cm), 140lbs, with a hipbone waist measurement of 30-30.5in. I can button all the buttons but I too am wary about the shrinkage. I'm not too familiar with iron heart denim but they say it should stretch back out 1in.

And let me be frank (and no I'm not trying to drum up any bidding interest), someone pm'd me today willing to buy the pair next weekend in NYC. So if u r still interested u'd have to wait if that sale falls through. Thanks.

  10. I'm not sure which brand or price range u r looking for in particular, but here's my recent sales thread:

    http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php?/topic/131793-icfs-iron-heart-666s-devils-fit-29x36-bnwt/

In short, quite slim fitting, heavy weight, slubby Japanese denim, Zimbabwe cotton, IH construction. Tagged 29x36. Actual 30x37 with expected shrinkage of 1in in the waist. BNWT. $300 shipped conus. I'm selling them because although I can fit in them now, I don't think I can after the shrinkage. In absolutely pristine condition. No point in having something I won't ever wear so I need to recoup some of the $ ($400 at SE or IH website).

  11. Model 666s aka "the devils fit" - slim fit, 18oz indigo, unsanforized, etc. More info, including the actual measurements, can be found on Self Edge website:

    http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cpath=71&products_id=678

I'll put up the pics first thing after work. On another note, if anyone is in NYC area, I can let this pair go for $280 if we meet up in the city. $300 for conus. $320 for international.
