  1. I stopped watching House of Cards like 2 episodes into Season 2. Started getting too ridiculous for me.

Last Man on Earth was good, look forward to watching more of that and seeing how it stays interesting. Bob's Burgers is great and I've been watching Brooklyn nine-nine when I'm cooking or folding clothes or something. Its funny and watchable, but in predictable and easy way.

Watched the first episode of The Man in the High Castle and it was pretty meh. I love Phillip K Dick, but this didn't seem particularly promising even though the plot is really interesting.

  2. It's all about Hulu Plus.

Really? I had Hulu Plus for a little while and really hated it. I know they partnered up with Criterion, so they have that going for them. Haven't checked it out in a while, how is the selection?

I use a Netflix account that I don't have to pay for, but I generally use torrents.

Might try the Hulu Plus free week.

Given the job prospects of a specialization in political economy:

    Deux the barista

I graduated as a Political Economy major last year from a top university, and the job prospects in the field are definitely thin. You really need to be incredibly impressive (lots of international experience, speak multiple languages, strong academic research and internships) and be prepared to be in school (grad and PhD programs) for a very long time.

I would definitely make sure you take advantage of courses in University to make you more marketable to an employer after school (Comp Sci, finance, etc.). I spent some time in government after I graduated, but it wasn't exactly empowering, the pay wasn't great, and I didn't think I could justify the cost of doing a grad program. So I was fortunate enough to get a job in finance recently and I'm pretty happy with it.

Anyway, that's my unsolicited advice. I do think its a great major and Congrats!

  4. Need some new prints for the apartment. Thinking of some of these. Anyone know of a place to buy reasonably priced prints of some lesser known artists? I'd like some photography prints too, but the stuff you can actually find on Allposter.com or Art.com is pretty awful

  5. The Knick is really great. Only 3 episodes in, but I really like it thus far.

Watched a couple of episodes of Bojack Horseman, but it don't really find it all too funny or really clever. Its kind of entertaining through and it looks really good and the music is catchy. Kind of more of the thing I put on when I need something to watch while I eat a sandwhich

  6. I'm sorry for shitty photo, but i have to know: should I exchange for bigger size?

Seems too short (length by navel) but fit nice in shoulders.

    Unzipped:

Looks much too short in the arms and on the length. I'm not sure sizing up would work though

  7. 2nd ep of the strain was slightly better.  Still some wtfs like ppl dont notice bloodshot eyes and super pale faces, canceling an autopsy of 200+ bodies, nobody checks the morgue, nobody gives a fuck about a body with a smashed head.

Haven't watched the second episode, but the same kind of stuff killed me in the pilot. Like when they find that huge coffin looking box that mysteriously showed up on the plane where everyone turned up dead on, and they just decide to go ahead and open it right there in the warehouse with no protection.

And the Peter Russo guy looks kind of ridiculous with that hair. And the whole good guy with a tough job who's going through a divorce thats hard on the kid and his gorgeous coworker that throws herself at him...

  8. The Strain looks like it could be interesting, but the writing is so poor that the pilot was difficult to watch. The show seems to throw in every possible genre and TV cliche even though it completely detracts from the show. It looks like it belongs on ABC. Pretty disappointed since Guillermo del Toro is great and vampires seems right up his alley, I'll try a few more episodes though.

  9. Recently i bought Hairbond Moulder. I have thick and hard to style hair but it holds well, i use it for my quiff and im satisfied. U can buy it there with free WW shipping: http://bit.ly/SiGj7c.

Was looking into picking up some Hairbond Moulder, but it seems like its used to add thickness and density which is really not what I need given that I already have very thick hair. Can anyone comment on this or recommend something for thicker hair?

I've been using Baxter Clay, which feels very nice and smells good but doesn't do much too manage my hair. Its also pretty expensive and tough to work throughout my hair.

  10. Need a new messenger/laptop bag for work and travelling. Last bag I had was a J.Crew canvas and leather bag that fell apart within a year. Need something that will hold together well and carry a decent amount of stuff while still being professional and not to rugged/extreme.

Thinking about this Timbuk2 Commuter TSA Friendly Bag. Anyone have any experience with the brand or other suggestions?

  11. Hmmm I have a large music collection that I've built up over the years that I'd like to have access to, but these days I'm usually streaming music on the internet or something. Having an iPod I feel like I have to have an iTunes account.

I'd like to have a Spotify premium account since it seems like thats the best option right now for I how tend to listen to music, but I feel overly attached to the music library I've meticulously maintained over the years. I guess I should just stash my library on an external HDD and move on though.

  12. I misplaced my last watch on a flight a few weeks ago. Looking for something casual that won't mind wearing day to day and possibly misplacing again god forbid.

    I like the Seiko SKX007K2

Anyone know if these sites are legit or know of somewhere better to look?

  13. Damn rough loss last night for the Warriors. I honestly don't think the Warriors have played a good game yet, even the first game win was a steal. Turning the ball over carelessly like they did early in the season, and the outside shot hasn't been falling for anyone.

Griffin is seemingly unguardable (is Lee even trying?) and Jordan is a monster protecting the rim.

Wasn't a big fan of that last play call. I don't know why an iso with Steph on Chris is the go to, rather than running a play to find someone open. It seems pretty obvious that CP3 fouled Curry though. He got him on the elbow and pushed him back with his elbow far enough for the shot to come short. CP3 is great at playing such smothering defense that almost always blurs the line of fouling without being too obvious.

Really frustrating to come this far, have Bogut sidelined and play really underwhelming basketball. Doesn't seem like anyone has the confidence or the determination to come out and have a huge game thats needed to beat a team like the Clippers.

Memphis vs OKC games have been really exciting though. Always fun to watch Memphis gain a big lead blow it, and then pull it out in OT.
