  1. Just saw this on the UK site. What colors looked good irl? You should post a fit pic of the XS. I'm thinking of phone ordering a white definatley and a few other colors, these could be perfect for beaters during the summer.

Also, How big at the chest flaps on the Uniqlo x OC Anorak? Anyone got a wear picture.

I'll try to dependant on time tomorrow. I had a glance at some of the block colours but wasn't really looking properly so can't really help you there, the colours are all pretty mellow though. I was more interested in the patterned versions, so i got a blue stripe one.

  2. Just copped the new linen shirt in XS today, fit's and looks gooood.

Also saw some new dry selvedge denim on sale. Price looked good (£40) but the finish looked cheap. I wasn't feeling the contrast stitching on the very small back pockets and every fucking where else. Didn't try them on though, so maybe fit is good...

  3. no theyre not that great

and the xs was a little big for me, but then again im pretty small.

I'm not very big either i was just hoping it wasn't too small, which by the sounds of it it isn't.

    Thanks.

  4. Hello, I've got a couple of questions I hope you may answer. Recenty I've run into a good oportunity of getting a pair Evisu Genes one-wash rinse sninny fit, for cheap just like these:

    http://shop.evisu.com/products/mens-skim-rinse-jeans-denim

Are they any good? Selvage? Will they fade well? And more important, sizing... I'm a true 34, and there's sizing info for other jeans but not these, knowing that evisu usually runs large, should I get a 32?

    Thanks!

Most likely won't fade too well as they're one wash and as the description said "excess indigo faded", creasing will also be minimal on these jeans as all the starch has been washed out for the soft feel. These probably are selvedge jeans being Evisu and all.

  5. It would seem so. These are the skinnies, these are the slims.

Tried the skinnies and they fit real nice, only thing i'm not too fond of would be the fake creases. I'd iron them out if i got them.

Was a little unsure about choosing between khaki skinny jeans from uniqlo or khaki slim fit chinos from zara so i didn't buy at the time.

  6. I dunno what you mean, protocol. Nudie's raw denim offerings are quite good and i think they work quite well. Their sales also shows this is the case.

I really wonder how do the japanese brands do commercially...?

I meant making raw denim only, this was in answer to somebody who said that Nudie should stop making pre-distressed denim and stick with raw, which i disagreed with.

I simply meant that Nudie make pre-distressed denim because it makes them money. Even though the company is focused on promoting raw denim, the simple fact is not everyone is up to wearing in their jeans for long periods of time and find pre-distressed a good alternative. Hence why Nudie should keep selling pre-distressed as well as their raw offerings.

Japanese repro brands can stick to raw only as they are more of a niche market.

  7. Yeah, they're a pair of YSL frames.. I take for granted selectspecs sells genuine product?

Typing selectspecs into google provides mixed reviews, most of them agreeing on a wait of around 2 weeks which is probably normal for glasses. Have a browse round some of the reviews, looks pretty legit but with a really shit level of customer service it seems.

  8. Yeah as i said the hips are the thing I'm most hesitant about. The rise is actually fine. For me, these stand out because they are indigo jeans, overdyed with black. So they'll fade gradually into a blue/black, rather than into that dirty brown/black of most black jeans..

    Ah i see.

Well unless you can physically try them on, you'll have to seek advice from somebody who does know how female cut jeans fit on males.

  9. I really liked how that pocket madras like shirt fit me, will probably buy soon.; length needs tailoring though

Same thing happens with almost all shirts i get in my chest size. Too damn long, being short sucks.

Those worker jeans are FUGLY looks like some shit G-star raw could have come out with.

  10. LOL i was just about to note that. How are you gonna bitch about pre-distressed nudies and a sentence later "pray" they "stick" to raw.

Probably meant to stop making pre-distressed and stick with raw, which ain't gonna happen. Leave the raw only to the japanese brands, where it works.

  11. I'm looking at buying these RRL slim black jeans. They're overdyed selvedge, quite cool. However they're a women's cut.

The measurements are all good. The only thing I'm worried about - do you think (because they're a women's cut) that they're going to look too 'girly'? I'm specifically worried about the cut in the hips...

    What y'all reckon?

I'd be a bit dubious about buying a women's cut, especially as it has to take into account a woman's hip shape. Also the rise may be too low for a man. Why not just get another black skinny jean? They aren't exactly hard to find.

  12. Hey all, so I'm probably going to be getting a pair of New Standards soon. They will be my first real pair of raw denim and I'm wary of the sizing. I usually wear a 30 waist with a 30-32 inseam and I would love to get these to fit similar to my 514s. I kinda hate stacking or cuffs that are too wide so I guess I'll have to get them hemmed, right? I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on sizing and how much it might cost to get them hemmed? Any recommendations on a place in NYC would be appreciated as well, as long as its not too pricey.

Size down 2 from your normal waist size. Normally size 30 fit's me fine but i tried on a pair of new standard 30's and they were absolutely huge. If they sold 27's in the uk i'd get them but i'll have to settle with size 28's.

    Question

Just a small one about hand washing jeans, should i let the jeans soak inside-out in woolite before i hand scrub them? Or is it better to let them soak without turning them inside out?
