  1. I'll say sorry in advance for stupidity..

I've been wanting to get a French press for a while now to make a few cups in the morning. How is the quality on bodum? Theres a press for sale on gilt right now, is it worth buying?

  2. I'll be visiting Chicago next weekend. Looking for

CD/Record stores: I went to jazz mart last time I was here and want to revisit. What are some other stores that I should take a look in?

Bookstores: Going to stop at quimbys and myopic in wicker park. Am I missing anything? What else is there besides Powell's?

As far as shopping I don't have much to spend and am just looking for some basics so I figured I'll just walk around Wicker Park and see if I see anything at the resale shops. Also going to stop by Belmont Surplus. Are there any neat stores downtown worth looking in?

Food: Probably just going to stop somewhere near where we are. Looking for pizza/mexican/hotdogs/ etc.

I might be staying with friends in Naperville or just finding a hotel downtown. Also, any good coffeeshops?

  3. Can someone show me a good link on a good running technique? I have gotten very out of shape and put on weight that I'm trying to lose so I figured starting to run is the best thing to do, but I don't think my technique is right and I don't want to cause injuries. Should I just try to build up my distance everyday?

  4. Hey everyone,

I've been trying to get a fixed together for a while but I have been in debt and I now finally have the money. A year ago or so I bought a very cheap conversion on a Univega Sportour frame, made of almost all old parts. As I was riding it a pedal fell off. It seems like the cranks are stripped. Now that I have money I'm looking into fixing it back up. I think I might as well buy new cranks, a chain, and a cog, but this is where I am clueless to what I should be looking into. What are some good parts I could buy? I already bought mks pedals+cages and have a pretty nice seat so I am good to go with that. I have around $500 but would prefer to spend as little as possible. I just want a bike to commute and get back in shape on.

I'm also considering just buying a complete to save the hassle of fixing back up this conversion. I looked on bikesdirect and am sort of overwhelmed. I'm consider the Windsor Hour because I have read that it has the best wheelset, and I think all of the bikes in my range are so similar I might as well get the hour and have money for parts.

    What do you guys think?
