  1. Thanks.:D

Is that just me or Goodwear never reply their e-mails EVER? I e-mail them couple times, they never reply to me.....

John GW is a one man show matey so he's usually a little slow to answer emails as he's also making jackets. Also he's just returned from a trip about a day or so ago so I imagine he'll get back to you soon. Trust me man, it's well worth the wait!

  2. I have a pair of Alden 405's up on the bay here:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220667394270&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_1154

Included are 2 Alden unused boot bags and I can send the box for a little extra.

I'll happily end the auction for £190 plus postage, I'm based in the UK and shipping to the US, Far East and Australia will be about £28. Shipping is estimated so if you do overpay I will refund you the difference.

    Any questions email [email protected]

    Best,

    Steve

  3. I'm selling a Good Wear A-2 United Sheeplined on ebay if anyones interested:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220661619587&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_780wt_1139

It's a 40/42 depending how you like your fit and it's beautiful.

If anyone would like it for £530 I'll remove the listing, I'm no big fan of ebay so don't have a conscience in that respect.

I realise it's not a For Sale thread but i guessed it was pretty relevant to Jacket Heads.

    Any questions email: [email protected]

  4. Gotta pair of Alden for Leather Soul Honolulu PT Flex Boot II in US 10.5D. Absolutely beautiful condition and worn only twice as sadly they are a touch too small.

Here's link to the sale on ebay:

Also go a used Buzz L-2b and other assorted stuff up there. I'll be listing 2 Sun Surf shirts, some Pendletons and 2 pairs of LVC's very shortly.

    Any questions just ask!

  5. Nice one. You certainly get some interesting people on here. I've been craving after a WMCA sweatshirt ever since seeing one on the Out of here cover.

Think I remember the early shots. A lot of white denim if I remember correctly?

Yeh, lots and lots of white denim. Interestingly enough I did a shoot with them on Commercial Road for an early Levis Vintage line (About '96 I believe), no denim just the 60's repro stuff which was largely Corduroy wearing corduroy.

  6. You mean the band Corduroy? Used to love seeing them back in the day. They were brilliant live!!

Aye, I did the photos for High Havoc and Out of Here plus the next one the name of which I forget, It was post Acid Jazz and a lot of fun go shoot. I also did their early press shot which looks like they're jumping off a high wall. It wasn't, I was lying on the floor.

  7. You need to meet my mate Gerald. He deals in obscure things on eBay (skateboard, scooter parts, 60s coffee machines) and cuts hair. for many years he did it either in a psychedelic-painted ambulance, or would arrive at your house on a scooter.

I think his pride and joy is a Li150, series 1 - late 50s IIRC, in a sandy beige kinda finish, with those lovely big tractor-style seats.

Edit : Great shots eletrum, good to see they're keeping the quality up on these. Did you get actual size?

Is this the Gerald who had the hair shop down in Maze Hill? If so, quality guy! Used to go there in the late 90's and loved the Small faces poster in the lavatory!

If you see him about tell him Steve the old Melody Maker/Corduroy photographer say's hello!

  8. I got my Tricker's Stows in the post today. Went for Espresso Burnished with a dainite sole.

    4112564298_20436210f9_o.jpg

I went down a half size to a UK7.5, and while the length is perfect, I feel they are a touch snug in terms of width. I'm not sure if I should go up to an 8 though and risk them being too long. Any thoughts?

I have a pair and I'd go for your correct size. While they are a roomy boot they are nothing like say a Barrie last in Aldens where you need to downsize. Come winter you may well be glad of some extra room for thick socks!

Saying that, I like a bit of room in a boot, down to personal tase really. Too tight and it gets uncomfortable, especially with Trickers. They tough old daisys!

  9. Toys McCoys better than Good Wear? No way companero!

More expensive, that's for sure. The contract details are all wrong and they have that dreadful laquered finish on some of them.

If you want a true repro that is made with identical materials and cut EXACTLY the same as a WW2 A-2 the only option is Good Wear.

I've tried The Few, Real McCoys, ELC and Toys McCoys(A friend has one) and nothing touches a GW!

  10. Samurai so500xx

    Samurai s5000vx

    Sugarcane 1947's x 2

    Lee Japan 101B

    LVC 44's 555

    LVC 47's 555

    LVC 55's 555

    LVC 201 37's 555

    LVC 47's raw

    LVC 33's raw

    LVC 55's

Edwin Greenville Japan (about 10 years old)

    Edwin nashville Japan (same as)

And need some Real McCoy's, more LVC 47's and Samurai so140xj real bad

  11. I think you've nailed it on the head regarding fitting. Try them on first.

I've kinda teetered on the edge with C&J's, quite fancied some Snowdons for winter but as I know my Trickers sizing gonna run with some Black Grasmere's. I'm done with the perils of buying shoes on the internet blindly.

I'll get a pro in for the floor :D

    Cheers

  12. The Trickers Grasmere is coming out in black this week and replacing the brown currently on offer, good news is it's in a 6 width.

Fresco, with the Crocketts I've always found they fit much slimmer in the country boots than Trickers or am I missing somethin'? I got a wide right foot (circus freak) so my dreams of an elegant shoe are out the window.

Beautiful floor by the way, you're more than welcome to come and fit mine, I just know I'm gonna f@ck it up with my di-why ethic.

  13. Got that Graham Marsh book today, highly recommended! What I need to know MR Black, from which book you got your scans from? did a quick research but no avail... Decent kids needs decent books....

Mr Blacks book was either 'Aliens Love Underpants' or 'Dinosaurs Love Underpants' by Claire Freedman can't quite remember exactly which one that image comes from but both feature selvedge AND are a jolly good read.

My daughter is getting the Graham Marsh book for Christmas whether she likes it or not I have a feeling it will be a regular bedtime read.

  14. Love that site! We need another HiH now!

I heard that Borculo is not going to happen again due to the site owners and locals being tired of drunken scooter riding freaks.

    Any plans?

My first one was in 2001 I think, a late starter but it was sooooo good I just didn't want to do UK rallies anymore.
