  1. Heading to HK late January (last two weeks), which I hear is prime time for sales. Looking for mostly RO/Devoa/Julius etc etc, any recs? And what can I expect in terms of sales? My list is super outdated so I could use some help. Last time I was in HK was 2008.

    All i remember is:

    INK

    Joyce

    I.T.

    D-Mop

    Lane Crawford @ IFC

I've heard of outlets for a lot of these shops that stock the brands I'm looking for, but can't really find any more info on them.

Bar recs would be helpful too, preferably a younger crowd (early 20's or 30's), and less touristy.

  2. I got the Mionn Composite and I really like it. The cut is comparable to the Atom LT, so it's narrow. I would advice you to choose your normal size.

For the warmth, temporarily I am wearing it under a Monitor LT and two tees under it at 0°C and wet conditions. It's ok, but you definitely recognize the non-coreloft filled parts at the arms and the overall feeling is not that comfy - but doable if you move. I should go with a longsleeve instead of the second tee... But above this temperature, everything will be fine. I can't say that much about the water repellancy, but it dries fast and it gives a feeling of windresistance\

My Mionn came in today as well. Fit is very narrow as you said, I'm normally a slim medium and the medium fits just right for me. I really like the fit of the jacket, but the cotton/nylon is ruining it for me. I wet the coreloft and its amazing at repelling water (ran it under my sink, was not wet at all), but the cotton/nylon sleeves got soaked and took long to dry. Jacket is not going to be ideal for rainy conditions because theres a good amount of the cotton, but I guess its pretty good for keeping you warm.

  3. Anyone have experience with regular Arc'teryx jackets? Costco has the Beta SL at 50% off (as well as two other models) and it looks very similar to the Align jacket, which I've been waiting to go on sale to at least 50%.

Thing is, I just need some thin protection to get me through bay area rain, and a few trips to stormy areas this winter (seattle & HK). Can't imagine the veilance Align being $400+ better than the beta if all i'm looking for is functionality. Any insight on this?

  4. They also had the Mionn Composite Jacket in XS but it was sold out after the first 15% off sale and size Small after the second one

Have you handled other Arcteryx (Veilance) stuff? I measure roughly a 36" chest and size Small in Mionn Composite fits perfectly, like the other Arcteryx Jackets I wear.

What does the Veilance size chart suggest?

Haven't tried any. Measurement guide on veilance site suggests a small though. I'm considering an STF too, all the models are 6" tall 40" chest and wear mediums so I just assumed I would be a small.

  5. Recently bought a pair of max cashes from TBS for a good price. I actually sized down one from true waist and it fits pretty good, actually looser through the leg than I normally wear. But good for being slim and not skinny.

Vinegar/dye smell still funky as hell though. Hoping it'll go away soon.

  6. any recommendations for onsens in the tokyo area? don't mind traveling to outer city limits if I have to. looking for the whole deal, bath/sleep/eat etc. onsens always help me get over jet lag and normally I have my friends take me but they're busy the first couple days I fly in so I have no idea where to go. preferably not too touristy, and I can get by with my japanese so that's not an issue.

  7. I'm looking for a pair of Guidi 995's. BLACK leather only, donkey leather preffered (but not required). Size needs to be a 43 in Guidi (or equivalent to a tts 41-42).

Price depends on condition, will consider all offers.

  8. seriously, I'm a little disappointing that I've gotten through half the game only using the shotgun and carbine. I rarely press my right click except when I accidentally try to ADS with it lol.

I'm playing it on hard as well and its not much of a challenge. But my salt runs out so fast I don't even bother using vigors most of the time.

  9. go to a specialty running store, if you can. the people in general sporting goods stores won't know shit about recommending a proper shoe. if the running store is any good, they'll have a way to analyze your running gait and be able to recommend a shoe for your style.

yeah, I guess I'll try and find somewhere reliable this weekend. A little hesitant because I would feel like a dick if I got fitted and didn't buy anything, I got suckered into buying some stuff the last time I got "fitted" poorly because they had spent so much time trying to help me out.

  10. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me out.

I'm relatively new to running long distance, and setup a goal to run a half marathon in September. A runner friend of mine has been keeping me on schedule but they can't really recommend me a good pair of shoes. Everything I've tried so far hasn't really worked. If I train too hard i definitely feel it in the arch of my feet. I tried going into Adidas and Finish Line but their recommendations weren't great - where do you guys think I should go to get fitted?

From my limited knowledge, I have a medium arch and don't pronate. I normally land on my forefoot.

  11. I had pretty bad acne for awhile and the one thing that helped me get through it was the gym. I did a lot of running and lifting which helped me sweat but the real treatment that helped was the steam room. The place works WONDERS for active acne as well as exfoliating your skin for scars. All the other health benefits are also a huge bonus.

But I still have some deeper scars that need to be taken care of. I've been taking vitamin E and using a daily moisturizer/sunscreen, but yeah that stuff usually makes my face really oily so only when I know I'll be out in the sun for awhile. Acne scars and sun makes things a lot worse.

Can anyone else recommend ScarAway? I've heard decent things about it but I'm usually pretty hesitant about putting stuff on my face. All products in the past have only made things worse after awhile.

  12. All prices include shipping within CONUS. International buyers please PM me for a quote. Feel free to either PM me or email me any questions at [email protected].

For reference: I’m 5’10, 155lbs. I wear a medium in tops, size 30 in pants, and size 9-9.5 in shoes.

    1.) APC New Cures tag size 28 - $100

Worn for less than week. Waist has stretched to about a 29-30. Very minimal wear.

2.) Gitman Vintage White Oxford size medium - $105

BNWOT. Tags are taken off, but the shirt has never been worn outside. Tried on once. Gitman cut just does not work for my body type.

3.) Spruce (old W+H label) White Hoodie size slim medium - $75

Heavy weight hoodie, still very white and solid construction. Riri two way zipper. Very slim medium fit.

    4.) B.SON Canvas jacket size medium - $80

Worn lightly, still in very good condition. Side zip version of the button up funnel neck jacket. Slightly rain resistant material.

5.) svennsons white lows size 41 - $140 without box ($150 with box)

    Tried on, never worn outside.

6.) Common Projects Chukka grey size 41 - sold

    Tried on, never worn outside.

    7.) Seavees 7 Eye Trail Boots size 9.5 - $70 shipped

Worn lightly, still very good condition.

(no pics of the common projects)

  13. Those look like a fucking toy you'd give to a kid to play with.

Apparently some of the stuff has been sold at a private sale already so we might get a report on the quality, but I'm not really expecting anything. I don't remember the last time I bought something from H&M even if some of the collab pieces looked appealing in pictures. Once I got a chance to see or feel them in person... I don't even bother.
