Seems as though NYC got quite a bit of Bourbon County this year. Gonna go buy a few more when I get a chance.. much happier with the BCBS situation this year than last year

Not a bad thing to stick to. Opened this last weekend:
Was a little light on the body but other than that it was damn tasty. Very lemony and juicy.. didn't think it was all that funky at first but it came out quite a bit when it warmed up.

Lmao, I got a 16.

20 is extremely nice vaguerant.. 15/20/23 are all very similar, but 20 is my favorite. Huge caramel apple flavor always stands out to me, has a thicker mouthfeel than most bourbons, and it's incredibly smooth for the alcohol content.

Does anybody know how the CP Running Sneakers compare to regular CPs when it comes to size?
Talking about these:

^Never fail to impress. Awesome stuff.

Yeah their distribution is extremely limited. I'm lucky enough though to have renski hook me up on a regular basis

There was no trace of New Belgium influence in that beer. It was an Alpine IPA with NB distribution. Wish they would do it more often because it would mean more Alpine in my life

Had some good stuff this past week:
De Dolle Oerbier Reserva vertical
My preference was 09 > 07 > 10 > 08 > 06. 06 was just too old, didn't have any standout flavors or much character to it at all. Everything was just muted. 08 tasted completely different from the rest, smelled and tasted like a BA barleywine which was odd. 07 was the most sour and the most drinkable as well, drinking extremely well. 09 and 10 were very similar due to the body being really creamy compared to the other years, flavor was similar but 10 was somewhat muddled while 09 was just awesome.
Had this (unexpectedly) right after the vert:
Spiced porters aged in bourbon and wine barrels on vanilla beans and cinnamon, blended, then refermented on dates. Very nice dessert like sweetness but balanced by the vinous flavors from the wine barrels. Liked this a lot.
Alpine/New Belgium Super IPA. Just tasted like another amazing Alpine IPA. Wish I could get this in NY.
This was very good but I was expecting more. Kuhnhenn BB4D is still the king of barrel aged old ales for me. I just got a growler of 2012 BCBS and I still have a little bit of this Adam from the Wood left.. might have to try a blend for the hell of it.

Had Logsdon Seizoen Bretta last night. Was a bit disappointed, kinda liked the regular Seizoen better. Also had this:
Was nice. A little less fruit than I wanted, and kind of a cheesy funk from the raspberries but it was enjoyable. Would like to try the 2010 version so I can see what Beat on raspberries is like..

@B-Dawg - how'd you like the Stagg? I love the stuff but I've heard a lot of people say they think it's too unbalanced and a bit of a mess. Also, have you had 15 and 23 Pappy? Curious to hear your preference.

Your signature should really say "who likes my glasssuzzz"

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

I'M MILEY CYRUS, I'M MILEY CYRUS, CYRUS, CYRUS, I'M MILEY CYRUS
burged next to miley at shake shack.
I screamed out "LEFT HAND CYRUS, RIGHT HAND ICED OUT".
Then took a picture with her.
Life mission, complete.
Met her in Nashville a few years back. Her laugh was incredibly off putting.

'09 Black Tuesday. Carbonation and apparently different malt base (??) definitely added levels of complexity I've never had in this beer. Was pretty tasty.
Veritas 007. Best Veritas I've had, huge grape, very acidic and sour but not overly acidic. One of my favorites today.
I shrugged this off when I saw it in the fridge because I thought it was regular Kate. Then I saw the Oak^2 and freaked out :\ I think this is the rarest beer I've ever had.
The Jaspers, kinda disappointing.
Frambozen, not disappointing Almost jammy it had so much raspberry presence. Nicely sour though, really enjoyed this.
Incredibly bad pic but it's Allagash Resurgam. Strange beer, not really what I expected but pretty good.
Everything we opened minus the '09 Double Oaked Kate. Those Kuhnhenn meads were fucking sweet, was on the fence about all of them.

I haven't been staying pretty sober on weeknights lately and I've been remembering my dreams for the first time in years. Been looking at furniture a lot for a new apartment also.. had a dream where I walked into a living room (it was mine in the dream, not my current living room irl though) and Vamp, somethingauthentic, and ohsnap were there. We talked about all the furniture I had in the living room and in my dream I basically ended up designing what my new living room will be in real life. Remembered it all when I woke up and drew it out. I think this is the most practical and useful dream I've ever had.

I already discussed this with t_c. He'll probably inform you soon if he hasn't already.

Oh and Cherry Oude Tart sounds dope. On the fence about the unnamed coffee English barleywine and unnamed barrel aged apricot strong ale. Both sound like they could either be very good or very bad.

"Oh shit Patrick, the Reserve Society isn't building enough hype anymore!! We need a new hype train!"
Patrick Rue: "Just make a new Reserve Society with a new (awful) name, charge twice the price, and give them a few extra beers."
I don't plan on joining that, but I might join the Reserve Society again just to get some of the RS Exclusive beers for next year. Rye, Brandy, and toasted new oak variations on Bois (5th anniversary beer) sound good, along with Grey Monday, a new blueberry sour, and Kumquat Sour in the Rye.
Yeah, next year's lineup looks a lot better than this years. The Hoarders Society beers actually sound very interesting but ~$400 more than a Reserve Society membership for 10 bottles (5 beers, 2 each) that the Reserve Society members can't get? Seems stupid.

Didn't get a pic but we also had B Nektar Dark Dark Goose. It was a mead thrown in a bourbon barrel that already had 10 gallons of Bourbon County in it.. so basically 2/3 bourbon barrel mead + 1/3 Bourbon County. Tasty stuff for sure. Also, this is the best way to drink Izzy:

Fuck, that just turns my stomach. I used to tell him to keep his head up all the time and now I feel like I should've done more.

Civil Disobedience #4
Jim, red wine barrel aged black IPA.
Jimmy, red wine barrel aged imperial black IPA.
3 batches of Everett. Definitely the fresher the better.
FInal lineup
Fremont Kentucky Dark Star. This sucked.
Cascade Strawberry, not bad.
Strawberry Brute

This year's BCBS is so damn good. By far the least hot it's ever been fresh, more dark fruit and less chocolate/fudge taste. Huge cherry taste before it warmed up. Less roast than 2011 which is good. Need to go cop more asap.
