I've been sporting a pair of basic red mid thigh PRL trunks... they've been serving me well. They were around $75 from Holt Renfrew.
Gilt Man has some nice looking Ralph Lauren Purple Label trunks right now

^the blacks will never fade like the indigos. they will still fade but it will be a much lower contrast vintage looking fade and will take a helluva lot longer.

does anyone know why the black 5010s do not fade like the indigo?
would the "cheese" dying have anything to do with it?
the 'cheese' dying is the reason why. its also known as hank dying where the warp threads are dyed all the way through to the core. the indigo are rope dyed so the core of the warp is white.

I checked em out the other week... leather is mad thick. much thicker than my tanner belt and I really love the buckle. my guess is that its the same leather they use on the super thick patch on their 24oz'ers and the green contest joints so they'll probably age something like that. price is right too at $56 a pop for the natural at the shop where I saw em.

A few years back I found a pair of jeans at Holt Renfrew Last call by a company called Denim Design Lab. They were labeled blank canvas and there was a cone mills - white oak hang tag advertising that the jeans were made from black seed pima cotton selvage denim. They had a blue selvage id. I bought them even though they didn't really fit because they were reduced to $59 from $450 and I loved the denim. I've been using the denim for all repairs on other jeans and I plan on using it to accent some leather projects I plan on getting to this summer. If anyone is interested I can snap some pics of the denim when I get home.

I associate light beer with bars where everyone wears the same baby blue striped button down tucked into their khakis... we just can't be having that in the great north.
Also, I see mounties on the regular. I live right next to the rcmp museum and the Toronto police headquarters... no bears though.
