  1. sorry to veer off topic here. just got the Nikelab ACG cargo shorts in. the sizing is nowhere similar to last season's cargo pants. Got an S in both, but the shorts is a whole 2 inches smaller. So i am going to have to return to get the M. but on a side note, the black on the pants seem to be a true jet black now. Sorry, was in a rush to return and get a new pair so did not remember to take any pictures. I will try to post some pictures of the colour when the new size gets here.

  2. Guessing it uses the same fabric as the J43-K? Same fabric composition and the inner/outer textures looks similar.

Breathability feels close, maybe a tiny bit better than standard Gore-tex (using ACG jacket as reference). Ventile/stotz is still more comfortable. Dunno about Pro.

ah thanks. wanted the purple one in S. but seems to be sold out everywhere. so money saved.

as you can see, it's pretty much fine now. And I am certain that the white stuff is just the starch because the pants are much softer now. There are still whitish parts on the seams of the left leg near the ankle if you look closely. but that's about it. I am not trying to defend nike here, but with so many people bashing the acg pants, I just thought I speak out on mine since I own them.

  4. sadly i purchased the ACG pants from mr porter, not nike, so I am not sure that nike will be that helpful. I will contact them today, though.

Here are the pictures of the damage:

there is also some damage near the zippers. this is honestly disgraceful - this shouldn't happen if you follow the fucking care tag to the letter.

Mine was also like this when I took it out of the soak. So i soaked it in water again without any soap, and this time the water had a yellowish tinge. Afterward i sprayed it down with cold water and let it drip then hung dry. I don't think that the white parts are parts where the dye got washed out. Seems to me that those are the parts that the industrial starch which did not wash out fully. I think pants that comes from factories are usually pre-starched to maintain their firmness and shape. Have washed them twice with the same whitish results, but now they are fine.

  5. got a question for those fellow acg cargo wearers!

how did you wash yours? need to wash mine and was just going to bung them in the machine on a gentle wash but looking at the label it says to hand wash.

using the machine ok or do I have to hand wash?

Warm water, detergent, 30 minute soak, hung dry. you will see a loss of the dye, but the fabric softens up.

  6. Acronym SP3-X for me, best shorts I've ever worn. The material is incredible and pocket config is superb. Can't rate them highly enough!

Those are definitely cool. But I don't think I could justify spending that much on a pair of shorts. But I may if I happen to come across one in the right size

Oh yeah? I was looking into those...how are they?

For the price they are going at, I think they're alright. They are quite noisy due to the material, but otherwise, durable.

  7. Kind of new to this forum, just curious what SHORTS are y'all into? Things are getting warmer so I'm trying to see what's out there

The closest "tech" shorts I have are probably the Nike Tech woven shorts.

  8. thanks for the heads up man, but wow that price is unreal!  equivalent to 810 CAD shipped

Also, do you know how I would size in these?  I am an 8 in all my Nike flyknits, 8 in Adidas ultra boost, 7Y in AF1, and 40 in CP achilles low

I've been camping grailed for months still no luck hah

A full size run is available on acrnm.com though.

  9. I was pretty disappointed w my acg cargos. They're likely going back

Guess it is a hit and miss with these pants. I have both the navy and black and went TTS. I am loving the fit and although the pants are not 'waterproof', but I have to say the material becomes softer after a couple of soaks and settles down better. When I first wore it, felt like I was wearing cardboard.

  10. ^ thanks for the input. I typically carry a 20L backpack to work, and I usually pack a laptop, gym clothes, a 32oz bottle, a notebook, foldable umbrella and my keys and misc stuff. Just wondering if the 3A-5TS would be really empty in this case. Seems like a 3A-1 would be a more suitable size for my usage I guess.

  11. So tempted by the j1a-gt. The look of the j1a-s was the first jacket that made me get caught on acronym. But now I already have a j27-gt and I just can't convince myself that I need 2 black goretex jackets with the same aesthetics.

  12. how quickly (or slowly) did the pants dry?

Don't get me wrong, I love the overall fit and aesthetics. And it keeps me warm. But like what inkinsurgent said, could have put more effort in the dwr.

I put it over the heater and it dried in probably 1-2 hours. hung dry would take even longer i guess.
