  1. got a yashica electro 35 recently, only put one roll through it so far. did find some light leak problems which have since been fixed.

first shot is yashica, rest are from various compacts.

That was quick. Looks like the 35 is as sharp as I remember... How do you like the heft? :P

  2. I'm poor, so I make up this super filling, cheap as fuck chili, stew thing:

can of tomato puree, garlic, olive oil; can of black beans, can of kidney beans, .5 can corn, lots of red pepper flakes, then add half cooked couscous. Let it cook on the stove for like 10 minutes, then melt some jalapeño cheese in it and eat w/ tostitos chips.

comfort food for the northern hemisphere, winter, raw vegan.

  3. also i'm looking for a new camera, preferably a rangefinder any solid choices out there for someone on a small budget?

    XA > XAx

Yashica Electro 35 GSN - as sharp as Leica glass?

Voightlander Bessa Rx - M mount to rival leica? more expensive than above

  4. baey: mao II is the only delillo ive had to put down. i cant even tell you how far i got into it because it was that unmemorable. i LOVE dellilo when hes shining, but i cant recall a single sentence from what i read of mao. i havnt exactly gotten into underworld yet because its so fucking daunting, but mao made me realize there might be a side to DD i cant fuck with. i hope you have better luck than i.

Agreed, again... I read like 270 pages of it and just thought, 'who wrote this?"

Underworld is awesome though. I really liked Point Omega too. Can't say which is my favorite...

  5. how do you blend down smoothly, especially in the back? any tips/tricks 'cause that shit is hard for me

I can't answer for him, but this is what I do (did tonight):

go from #6 on the sides of the top, feeling with my hand so that it is even all around. then I go to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1; making sure I overlap on each section so that they meld. It really isn't that hard after you've done it once.

Get your best-friend/girlfriend/mom to trim back sideburns, or buy a mirror and do it yourself. Being totally independent if very liberating (in an obvious sense).

First time I did it it took 3 hours. Second time, it took like 15 minutes.

  6. what product do you guys think David Lynch uses in his hair?

    2rmry1y.jpg

I wash my hair about once a month and it has that sort of volume 3 days after a wash, but it doesn't have that sort of shimmer that his has. I occasionally run a little olive oil through it but that weighs it down too much.

    any thoughts?

  7. isn't hair suppose to grow an inch a month?

I went from #1 buzz on May 1st to today and it is barely three inches on top... :\

and how long does your hairs have to be on top to get this style/what product?: c0o6t.jpg

  8. Last week I detoxed from computers/tv/everything.

read three books: This is It, The Wisdom of Insecurity, and The Stranger.

This Is It may be the most important book I've ever read. Everything Watts writes is solid gold.

Starting Hesse's Narcissus and Goldmund today.

  9. quit drinking coffee after I was up to two pots of espresso roast a day and had a panic attack.

think I'm going to get one of them Bodums and limit myself to one cup a day...

have a track frame sitting in my room waiting to be built with financial aid money. only an hour drive from Forest City velodrome in canada...
