  1. Long-reach cantilevers work great on large clearance 27" wheeled bikes. Shimano makes the best one, at the moment, but even a marginal new brake from Tektro or similar would work great over what was there.

Single pivot (old) brakes have the bolt visible in the middle of the brake, dual pivots are obscured by the brake arm covering it.

Did you mean long reach calipers?

Here is a picture of all the excess fucking hardware: 2a5nhxi.jpg

I'm guessing the hole in the fork/frame is for inserting a 'nutted' set of brakes? From what I've read, VeloOrange carries these Tektro R556, but the nut for the fork isn't even long enough for 80's road bikes. What's the point?

I'm retarded when it comes to brakes :(

  2. Took off my 30+ year old brakes, cables, levers...

Looking for a cheap set of bullhorns and I keep seeing people say they got the Syntace ones for like $12-- back in 2008. Wonder if they realize they could charge more w/ the bike-craze taking off in the past... decade? they go for $50+ now.

And this may be a stupid question, but are there brakes made for older 27" wheels that aren't shitty cantilevers?

  3. Right now I'm in Buffalo for grad school (well, I dropped out). love to go back and cliff jump, ride my bike, and drink good beer.

I can proxy Brooklyn Black if anybody wants it that bad ;)

edit: oh, and shufon, you know Finger Lakes Beverage Center, right? Seems like they always have BBCS during the winter...

  4. I was just at Wegman's but the build your own selection here is totally disappointing :\

I go shopping every week so I get to see whatever they rotate in or out... occasionally it's like finding a diamond in the rough

What I've thought about doing, though: they don't ring up the individual beer (there is a barcode on the bottom of the cardboard), so you could pick out the six most expensive individual beers and the 18 year old working the check-out isn't even going to bat an eye. Hell, you could probably put 6 bombers in there and they wouldn't notice.

I'm poor, so this seems acceptable to me-- your morals may be different :o

  5. thats a fair price for a 6 pack sir

    relish that Brooklyn BCS

Indeed. $9 for their version of a mix-and-match, but they put random beers on one shelf and you have to pick from that shelf. The only thing is, they put beers like Brooklyn Black and Goose Island Matilda bombers in there, mixed with Sam Adams, Guinness, and Tecate, so anybody that knows their beers can get a nice deal.

  6. The prob is if you shave it, you've got to be on that shit like every week or it'll look like garbage. Expect at least a year before you have something manageable.

just keeping the sides at a #2 fade and leaving the top, I cut it once a week to keep it looking good. just letting it grow is going to be more work

  7. I went from a normal short haircut (1 or 2 on the sides and about 3" on top) and just let it grow. At certain lengths, it looks like shit no matter what you do, so it really doesn't matter. Get it shaped as it grows.

Ideally, you wouldn't shave anything. You need the hair on the sides and back to be as long as possible for a proper ponytail. Minou (if I remember correctly) had it shaved on the back/sides and it looked good, but it wont look good on everyone.

    yep, 1zf4uvs.jpg I like it.

I hate having it sloppy on the sides, so I always cut it off when I intend to grow it out.

FUCK THIS, I'M LETTING IT GROW ONCE AND FOR ALLLLLLL

  8. To grow out the type of hair that yields an effective top knot, should I just get my hair buzzed and let it grow out, or cut everything to even lengths?

I've been wondering this too. I've got about 3.5 months of growth on top, I've been fading up the sides/back myself.

Is it possible to do the topknot if I keep #2'ing the sides/back, or should I let it all grow out?

    help plz

  9. yeah, I'm playing NV too. I really like it a lot more than F3. I hated being stuck inside places like Rivet City, or in confined spaces like the sewers. Roaming around in the desert is where it's at. I didn't finish F3. so I'll probably go back and do that once I "beat" NV.

Also, the main thing I like about NV over F3 is that it is much easier to be a "good" guy. Even killing characters that appear to be good sometimes gives you good karma, or doesn't have any effect whatsoever. It feels like you could play the game over and over, doing different things each time, and have an entirely new experience.

edit: and I haven't had any bugs or anything. just a little skipping when it loads a new section of the desert. got stuck in one of those protectron portals, but got up with a grenade to my feets. I save all the time anyway out of habit, so it shouldn't be a problem if you're like me.
