  1. If my bangs are down to my eyebrows, should I be able to do a pomp? I have been shaving my sides from a #1 to 4 fade, leaving the top to grow, but got sick of that. Right now my sides are growing to a reasonable length-- shouldn't I be able to do something like this: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showpost.php?p=2688909&postcount=4342 in a few days? (how long do you think that dude's hair is on top/sides?)

My hairs on the sides are like... 1/2 inch. 4"+ on top.

    drunk, srry.

edit: read last page... I've been shaving my sides and keeping the top long b'c I wanna do the topknot shit-- but I'm starting to grow out the side now. Such a big difference between top and sides doesn't work IMO (at least when you've got relatively short hair.

  2. Moving to BK in the middle of June. Have a friend that teaches and does some magazine editing/writing-- don't know what the chances are of me getting a job doing editing/writing/photography, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Anyway, if anybody wants to chill in June, I'm down to grab a beer (or ten), take some pictures, wander the city, etc...

  3. I want this.

Lando.. is this your head? Hahaha

    tumblr_lk6zuo4MAZ1qz8pm4o1_500.jpg

shit, I like that... I'd get that cut, but I'm sure it would look like shit in about 3 days.

oh well, continuing to let my shit grow on top-- going since october.

  4. Really nice work, can't rep tho.

thanks. all done with an olympus xa.

I'll be moving to Bangkok or Portland in the coming weeks, and will be picking up a medium format TLR, so look for some interesting square multiple exposures :)

  5. so I went a little extreme and tapered the sides basically from a #1 to #2, and left my hair on top at about 4"...

I need suggestions on a different product than AC Fiber, as it tends to make my hair look like one big mass, and is too matte. Is there something out there that is just a little more shiny, and will create some individual definition while still holding my hair in a sort-of glorified mohawk? I tried pomade yesterday and it is too heavy, shiny, and a bitch to get out.

  6. well, I tried it, with this spare can of Murrays I had sitting around... Doesn't work with hair thats so short on the sides and longer on the top.

I just ran my hand through my hair multiple times and I've got a David Lynch on acid thing going...

  7. what do I do with my thick, 3.5", white person hair that's #2/3 buzzed on the sides?

pretty much looks like this short16.jpg (except I'm better looking than that model). Little bit of AC Fiber in the morning...

It's too short to pomade, too long to not fuck with before leaving the house, and too short for everything else that I want to do

  8. Find a shoe that feels good and wear it.

Even though I'm eating the best I ever have in my life, I haven't gone running in like 6 months. It is regularly below 15 degrees here, without wind-chill (not to mention snow covering everything), and I have no money to pay for cold weather gear. Think I'm just going to start braving the cold w/ shorts and a sweat-shirt to get my ass back in gear.

  9. it's taken me a week to get through 60 pages of The Glass Bead Game... picked up delillo%20americana.jpg ready 100 pages in one day. I have to admit my love affair w/ DeLillo... Probably propagated by the crush I had on my undergrad prof that loved him...

Also got players_first_ed.jpeg to read next.

  10. I did mean caliper, but you need cantilevers anyway, so..... on purpose!

Holes on that frame are for racks and fenders. Cantilevers are a bit tricky to set up, but you don't have a choice for that particular rig. I've got quite a few different ones if you're out.

fuck. I've got the cantilevers that I had on there, but I think all of the wiring needs to be shortened to tighten things up-- if they even still make these cables.

    anyway, thanks for the help.

  11. Wait what? You think I'm trolling? I linked those because they're relevant, people were discussing grappling hooks. Those grappling hooks collapse and would easily fit into a messenger bag or backpack.

My point is, having one on hand if you work a high rise would actually be fairly useful in the event that something happened. Even if you fucked up your hands and even fell the last 3-4 stories, at least you'd survive. They would definitely increase your chances of survival.

But yeah... fine let's move on.

I'm sort of interested what you would do with the grappling hook if you had to escape your building? Really, what maneuver would you be doing? Zip-line from your window to the building across the street?
