  1. Does anyone know anything about the 712 cut that Samurai posted on Instagram the other day?  I'm hoping for a 710 top block/thighs but a a little slimmer below the knee.

  2. Hey @bartlebyyphonics do those Oshkosh overalls have selvedge hidden in the coin pocket or in the utility pocket on the leg?  My vintage Oshkosh overalls have them, but sadly I've grown a bit too fat to wear them regularly.  Fun fact, I almost went to college in Oshkosh.

Can anyone comment on how slim the S511xx cut actually is compared to PBJ and SDA slim tapered?  Okayama Denim called it a slim tapered but based on the measurements it appears to be more of a slim straight.  I've decided to get the S511SJC-AI and am wondering if I'll need to get them tapered to get then close to the PBJ and SDA slim tapered cuts I'm used to.  I have a couple pairs in the 710 cut that I got to work by sizing down and getting tapered by Railcar.

Does anyone have experience with Samurai's home grown cotton?  Saw a lot of discussion but doesn't look like anyone has actually gotten a pair yet.

I can't speak directly to your question, but I have both 710's and 511's and I'm pretty much always a 34 in the 710's and a 35 in the 511's.  For me it's the thinner thighs on the 511's that require sizing up a bit.  Even sized up 1 the cut of the 511's still feel a bit thinner overall compared to my 710's, but not a ton.

  4. Hey all!  I'm hoping to buy a pair of left field Black Maria's and was hoping that some of you all would be able to offer sizing/fit advice.  My favorite jeans are Samurai 710's in size 34 and I'm debating between the Greasers and Atlas fits.  I'm hoping for a slightly similar cut/fit to the 710's.  Any suggestions would be great!

  5. Question about sizing for the Black Maria greasers.  I'm a comfortable size 34 in Samurai 710's (mine have a waist that measures right around 17.5)  I'm wondering how much the Black maria 14 and 18 oz denims stretch, and what size to go for.  Thanks in advance for the help!

  6. Tall and skinny-ish here.  I'm slowly hunting for a new denim jacket and need something with a longer torso.  Anyone have suggestions for a quality Type I or II with a longer body (hand warmer pockets would be an added bonus)?

  7. Sweet projects!  I want to make a denim/chambray shirt and was wondering if anyone knew of a good men's work shirt pattern to use.  I was hoping for something slightly fitted, but so far all the patterns I have found have been super billowy and 90's looking.

  8. I don't know if this thread is still active, but is there any place to buy Indigoskin denim (or other exciting Thai denim) in Chiang Mai?  I'm going to be there in a couple weeks and would like to see what Thailand has to offer.

  9. Anyone heard of a brand called "Name Value"? i got a jacket by them like, 6 or 7 years ago...

I got a pair of their jeans  about 7 or 8 years ago from a Buffalo Exchange up here in Portland.  They were kind of a 501 cut with hidden rivets, buckle back, decently heavy red line selvedge, and the ones I got were lined in a cream bandanna material.  I always figured they were sold at Buffalo by one of the Japanese exchange students attending PSU.  I tried the website on the label but it didn't work even back then.

  10. Long time lurker, first time poster, I'm interested in purchasing a pair of the s710xx and after reviewing this thread was hoping for some suggestions o sizing.  I think I need either a 33 or a 34 as I have pairs of 3sixteens (SL-130 size 33, st-100 size 34, 30bsp size 33) and Flathead 1001's (size 34) that I love the fit on and all measure right around 17.5 in the waist and 12.5 in the thigh.  I was hoping someone with more experience with Samurai's could give me their sizing opinions.

Also, I have read and reread the BIG descriptions for the regular and 15 year 710 models and have no idea what the difference is, any idea?

    Thanks in advance!
