Anyone with experience in the 15.7 ounce or 18 ounce denim care to comment on how much waist stretching they've experienced? The word I'm getting from Blue Owl is to expect less than 1 inch in waist stretching from momos Zimbabwean cotton denim.

Is it unreasonable to expect either of the 15.7 or 18 ounce denims to stretch 1 full size in the waist?

    anybody?

  6. Depending on the specific night, Social Room can be quite good. Played there a few weeks back. Heiko Laux played last weekend, Lawrence has played in the past, if that gives any indication of the sound. It's upstairs, and doesn't have any signage, so can often be a little too empty.

OMA might be one to keep an eye on, but the crowd can be a mixed bag.

XXX in Tai Kok Tsui as well, but again, check the FB for a specific night before going.

In Central there's a place called Basement which can occasionally have something cool.

ALSO! there is a place in Fo Tan called Acadana. Basically a dude has taken the old (huge) soundsystem from Dragon-i and installed it in a small industrial space out there. I havent been there personally, but have heard great things. This is just happened, for example: https://www.facebook.com/events/161372780977254/

I would skip Volar, unless models and bottles are your thing.

On a seperate note, this was one of the best restaurants i've tried in HK (cheap too). They also just opened a location in Central: http://www.openrice.com/en/hongkong/r-yau-yuen-siu-tsui-jordan-shanxi-shan-noodles-rice-noodles-r185837

  7.

I really didn't find the place to be all that interesting. The whole city is full of sketchy people. The scenery isn't, like, all that amazing compared to Paris and some other European cities.

    Sorta felt this way too.

Saw simo cell play at Cross Club, definitely a cool spot, but 90% of the crowd just seemed like degenerates with nowhere better to go. Skate shoes, hoodies, smoking cones in the park out front. Really did not rate the atmosphere.

And yeah, I feel it's no more beautiful a place than say, Vienna.

  8. Don't want to turn this into the 'Berghain' thread, but wow. I don't think it's an overstatement to say that it is life-changing. Failed at 8am Sunday (no line), went back solo at 3:30 and spent 15 hours there. It really felt like another universe, and I can't imagine how you could create better conditions to experience techno.

  9. Bumping this. Any updates on sufu retail in Antwerp? Any tips on food/coffee/bars/nightlife would be appreciated. Plan on spending 3 days in late September.

Also, any advice on an itinerary for Antwerp, Ghent, and Brussels? Is 5/6 days for all three too ambitious/pointless?

  10. I think the converted swimming pool is/was Stattbad?

Also, strange that Freecat recommends getting your berghain stamp at exactly that time, a few pages back.

I will be doing a lot of record shopping as it happens. Figured i'd have better luck asking on discogs, but if anyone has any tips on 2nd-hand record stores (or any good flea markets), lmk. Audio-in, and Platten Pedro have been recommended, on top of the usual hardwax, OYE, record loft, etc.

  11. Will be visiting in late august.

Already booked in for Boros, any other recommendations for galleries, especially smaller ones?

I see that Stattbad has closed, any other venues to keep an eye on for house/techno etc? Will be trying my luck at Berghain but am more keen for more local/lowkey spots. OHM, der visionaire, about blank etc. are on my list.

Also, figured I'd ask here rather than bump another thread: Is there really that little to see and do in Frankfurt? I had intended on spending about 3 or 4 days there, is this overkill?
