I think that this could potentially be great...I find the concept very interesting and think that it's good that he's striking out for new territory.

Thanks for the compliments and reps people.
@beatle: you're too kind, and the Beatle Busters fit you better! Your fit pics on those made a believer out of me. They're now on the shortlist.
@dr. house: yeah, I underestimated how much inseam I would need by about an inch because the rise is a bit shorter than I'm used to. I'm not too worried about it though. I can always pull the legs next time I soak.
Overall I love the cut on these. It's trim in the leg but roomy in the top block. I gots the chicken legs so that works for me. At the same time it works well on DocBlue with his manly rugby-playing thews and it also looks cool in a retro way on those who asked for roomier fits, so it's very versatile. I've never come across a cut like it elsewhere. I really hope Roy makes it part of his regular line-up 'cos IMO it's something new that really works.
The denim is crazy! It shrank more than any I have come across
and when it dried it was like wood! It also completely changed colour from grey to blue. There is definitely quite bit of stretch in it though, so, as i said before, if you can get into these raw, you should be able to make them work post-soak.I still think fardin should wear his raw for a while though: they look great on him and it will be really interesting to see how that effects the fading.
Everyone is looking great. The only downer is that PaulT, one of the architects of this thing, still hasn't got his.
P.S.: Wonderful shots el topo, zissou and aho. Zissou, I love those shots of you down by the river: you look like a member of an old school mountaineering expedition. Also thanks, el topo: now I know where the nasty deer hoochies hang out if I need one.

Fingers crossed for you Paul.
Pre/ post soak measurements for size 33:
Waist: 34.5/ 32
Inseam 34.5/ 31.5
Thigh: 13/ 12.5
Front rise: 11.25/ 10.75
Back rise: 15.75/ 14.75
Knee: 9.25/ 8.75
Leg opening: 9/ 8.5
I'm not used to self timers etc,but since guys probably don't want to wait for a couple of months while I get my shit together, these post fit pics were as good as i can do right now ( they will improve; keep the faith ) :

Only just. At first light your "patience" will be rewarded.....

It depends what you want from it erk. That is a great fit though. The 42 definitely won't look quite as good.

Must spread unfortunately.

Yo! Checking in.....
I've been on thhe road since December 29th and just got back last night. The jeans have been here since January the 3rd or so. They are, as you all know, incredible. I'm going to be as happy as a pig in his own sauce spending 12 months in these...so many scrumptious details....the duck, the cinch and buckle, the shell stitch, the hidden coin pocket....far fucking out!
Anyway....soaking as we speak. I ordered waist 33, leg 32 ( yeah, I'm a weird shape). Raw measurements BiG style:
Waist: 34.5
Inseam: 34.5
Front rise: 11.25
Back rise: 15.75
Knee: 9.25
Leg opening: 9
So they are pretty much a straight leg as far as i can see.
Post soak measurements and pics to follow .

No, but you can use a forwarding service, like Tenso.

Ha ha ! Rivet....you're in Detroit? I stood in front of that very mural on Friday....it's amazing.
The pants are great. Love the cut of them. Must spread. Will get back to you.

Nice Dr Heech.
I love the 1930s too. I want to get the '36 and '44 as well, but I'm thinking of getting another pair of 1930's for the ol' war chest.

@tg :I think those are gonna look great on you post soak . Boyfriend jeans from the 1920s!

Nice fits dkatz and Joeseph Hill. Nice boxer fit tg.
I think that the higher you cuff and the less break you get on these, the better they look. When legs that are cut wider stack up they can start to look a little messy. I think that's what Lando was on about, partly at least.

At the magic bean in Chicago...I heard it was made of scrotanium?
Lofgren
40's Hercules Horsehide
MF Mechanic's Sweat
USN jeans from WWII Impressions
PF Flyers
I dig the Hercules jacket. Any chance we might see more photos of it in one of the leather threads?

Surely you mean unbleached rather than undyed?

I couldn't understand how aho was getting those measurements, but now it all makes sense.
Still, with that amount of shrinkage they should stretch a bit ( even if not easily as Ralph said). I would imagine that if they fit you raw, you will be able to make it work one way or the other.

Those look to me like they're at the tipping point. You'll get more evo in the next 6 months than you did in the first.

So the size 32's are 1-1.5 inches undersized? I was going to order them....thank god I didn't .....making them work would have been pretty tricky.

I think it was the striped fabrics which made me think railroad.

Good fits all. I think Roys advice that these look good a little bigger was spot on. They're waist overalls, not leggings.
Roy6 and zissou...what size jeans do you normally order? 32 or 33? I know it varies, but in general? You guys got the fit I had in mind....

Great Lee's CTB. I'll be posting my 1930's at 6 months once I get back home. I love the leg twist on yours. Is your inseam still shrinking?

Looks like rnr was right...it's got a railroad vibe.

. .
Great interviews PaulT and great shots roy6. Having such detailed information about the jeans we will be wearing is fantastic. It's the denim equivalent of getting your food from an (organic) farmers market!

You've got some chops, man. Those seams are as neat as you'd like. The design is great too. When do you start taking orders?
