  1. Anyway, hasn't Toyota been running an ad claiming that a greater percentage of the parts and labor in their trucks is from the United States than in Ford trucks?

I know people in tool and die in Detroit and unbelievably Ford actually stipulate that their subcontractors there must get a certain amount of their parts from China. If you don't or won't, you won't gt the contract.

roy6 has succeeded in tweaking the residual stump that is all that remains of my sense of Catholic guilt, so I guess you can expect more photos from me. They will probably be pretty prosaic though.

  2. I think the maker is reasonably well regarded ( particularily for G1's) and I would say that if you really like the fit, you'll likely get a lot of wear out of it.

Buying anything online that you haven't previously tried on is a bit of a crapshoot...it always makes me nervous. A2 fits from different makers vary quite a bit as you know. Measurements can get you 90% of the way there provided they're accurate ( a big proviso), but still......

How flexible is he on the price?:)

edit: nice one erk. It is in amazing shape for a jacket from 1951....another reason to err...."invest".

  3. Again I have no idea what decade this is from, all it says is "tailored by score for the hudsons bay company toronto" and it's got beefy talon zips

The Hudson Bay company rebranded it's department stores to "the Bay" in 1964, so apparently it's from before then.

    Great jacket.

  4. ^^Please pull up your trousers young man:)

Lee 1930 101b @ circa 6 months as promised. These deserve at least another 6 months and I will be back to them in 2012 after the Roy x Cone contest. I have a pair of Warehouse I'm a couple of months into as well which will also be seeing some action, so in effect I know what jeans i will be wearing for the next two years!

  5. Derby, mid brown latigo, plain toe cap. THey don't charge extra for varying the options.

Vintage, had it for years, just pulled it out the closet again. Quite hard to take a shot without bits of lining or pocket hanging loose; got to work out how I can get it fixed.

That jacket is great. Well worth putting some money into it IMO.

  6. I really like the toe and the scalloped heel on the 2268, although the sole/ heel materials aren't that great. I agree with you about the buckle and the strap placement. Having it lower down would seem to me to make it a bit more functional as well.

Viberg's standard 83 model is nice and there was a pair of short shifts posted here recently with a packer toe that looked great as well. I'm not that keen on the new Viberg with the upturned toe, though.

I need to check out the Chippewa. What do you think of the Toys McCoy Becks, coleslaw?

@wgmds: I agree the Lone Wolf is a beautiful boot. I would have bought a pair but there's very little info about sizing around and they are kinda pricey to be flying blind on.. Ed told me that they fit large. He said that a 9D fit like a 9.5E. They were out of them by the time I got to BiG so I never got a chance to try 'em myself.

  7. I see from Free and Easy that William Lennon are starting to see interest in their product from the Japanese market. Better buy 'em up ....might be your last chance to get in before the hypebeasts do and the price trebles! :)

Anyone here know anything about the boots made by Nick's Custom in Spokane?
