the issue with french/italian/english frames is the sizing they use for components. finding a quality french bottom bracket is a huge pain in the ass compared to one with italian or english threading for example. this is compounded by the fact that american and japanese manufacturers also use italian threading standards

also, most vintage Peugeot forks aren't large enough for newer brake calipers. I've had to drill out two forks to help friends with conversions. ugh. pain in the assszzzzz

I purchased my first 3 pairs of cycling chamois yesterday. why would I ever wear underwear... or pants... or shorts... or any sort of normal clothing again? it's like my butt is in a place higher than heaven. you probably wouldn't understand...................

i actually tried them with more contrast at first and here's what came out. i wasn't too sure about them tho, because i didn't think they conveyed that night time, mysterious, "you don't know what party this is but it looks gorgeous and fun" type of feeling that i was going for. also, at this point noise is becoming a problem bc i had to shoot at a high ISO. let me know what you guys think and if you have any more suggestions

I see what you are going for and how the first set of photos definitely portray more mystery. although, I still get a sort of anonymous feel from the first two photographs but I get to see more. just my opinion though. they're very beautiful compositions both ways

you should consider having these frames pushed in the processor just a bit more. they're really gorgeous, but I'd personally be more drawn to them if they were brighter

my boyfriend's parents are in town from Houston today. they're going to a winery and out to lunch, and the bastard didn't even invite me. I lost my i.d. a week ago and am waiting on my birth certificate to get another one, but I can still go to wineries without a problem... and shit-it would be nice to go out to lunch with his family, too. I only get to see my family once a year or so because I'm so busy and they're all the way across the country. I can't help but feel really disappointed that the only family time I would have been able to have in the past 8 months was completely shunned because "I don't have an i.d." I know my boyfriend just didn't think it would be a big deal if I didn't go out with him and his family... but it is. and my feelings are really hurt that he didn't even try to overcome any hurdles to be able to have us all spend time together.

edit: with all of the wining out of the way, I feel much better. silly emotions

I don't get you fucking drivers! use your turn signals! it doesn't matter if I'm cruising behind you on a bike OR in a car, I still can't read your fucking mind if you're about to make some erratic turn. although, this is especially frustrating when on a bicycle going 20mph and some fucker speeds ahead of you, not using a turn signal, and turns right directly in front of you.

instead of trying to estimate how fast I might be going or how much space you have to speed in front of me to turn (and hopefully not hit me or vice versa)... let's just assume you're not going to make it, use some fucking patience and caution (and your motherfucking turn signal! it seriously takes NO effort... only intelligence), and WAIT.

is it really that difficult to understand that you're driving at least a ton of metal? that no matter how hard you hit me, you're going to do damage? further more, is it REALLY that fucking difficult to wait maximumly 1 minute for you to SAFELY pass me?

the legal passing distance between a car and cyclist is 3 feet in Austin. you're supposed to use your turn signal 200ft before a turn is made. these things are not difficult.
