eww, i'd have to be 90lbs or something to look like christian bale in 'the machinist'.
i must have used the wrong keywords, because i did a search beforehand.

the tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di was highly recommended by mike johnston.

a shimmer of possibility - paul graham.
took three weeks to get here, but it was worth the wait.

i was planning to go to japan for just that reason. ostensibly, it's to visit my sister while she's there next semester.

here's a man's manbag.
of course, the gold standard is dean corso's (johnny depp) book satchel.

ok, i'm 5'9'' and 120lbs. i wear 34(xs) shirts and 28x30 pants (actual size).
if you've got the same problem, where do you find clothes? online? do you know any shops in los angeles that carry these sizes? i want to get some clothes that don't make me look like a teenager. thanks! =)

canon doesn't have a great standard zoom for that price. in any case, the 17-55/2.8 IS is on the big and heavy side; it doesn't balance well on the xti. olympus makes the sterling 14-55/2.8-3.5, which you can get for $400-500, but none of their entry-level dslrs really appeal to me. you may feel differently...the e-520 looks ok. imho, they should have just stuck an image stabilized 10mp sensor in the e-1.
dpreview reviewed the updated version of your lens, the 18-55/3.5-5.6 IS. it's sharper wide open and in the corners, and has IS so you can take pics in lower light without using flash (assuming your subject isn't moving). less CA, too.
if you have a $600 budget, i would trade in your current kit for a new 450d kit, which includes the lens for only $100 extra. the rents got one and i have to say that the viewfinder size and overall build have been nudged into acceptable. the grip is still too thin, though.

501 stf are really baggy even after shrinking. someone in the definitive 501 thread got one size smaller in the waist than his actual size, i think, then stretched out the waist while they dried. they fit nicely through the hip and leg with this treatment. i'm going to do the same thing as soon as i can find a 27x32 (at this range, the inseam will shrink two inches, not three. you might have to get one an inch shorter.).

why are people standing with their feet so far apart? or with one leg out as if they were walking?
