  1. looking into buying some White's SD. Anyone with experience good or bad with ordering a custom fit boot from either White's directly or Bakers.

Kyle at Bakers is great to deal with - a lot easier than dealing directly with White's. Customization is much easier on the Bakers website too. You can even email Kyle a pic of what you want and he'll help you duplicate it. Patti at Russell is good for that too.

  2. They're beautiful and I'm pissed I have to return them, but yes I have to figure they checked them under artificial light, where it's still noticeable but nothing like when you take them outdoors, where they look like two different shoes. I have some snuff suede Indy's arriving tomorrow, so barring any issues I'll just go with those for now.

Did anyone pre order the unglazed shell service boots?

  3. What's up Sufu bros. I'd like your advice on this. I got these viberg service boots in the mail today and immediately noticed how different the two boots were in color. I have a million pairs of boots and understand they're never exactly the same, but these seem to be two completely different colors. They may even out with wear, but they may not! Do you think this is acceptable QC from Viberg?

  4. Does anyone have experience with this William Gibson jacket? I'm a 40 in the Buzz peacoat and the measurements on this jacket look about the same, but I'm worried the lining might make it run a little smaller.

Also just picket these gloves up. Very nice.

  5. I'm pysched you guys like the new White's! I absolutely love them and wore them all day today with zero foot fatigue. I did a bunch of research on turning a semi dress in a field boot after I saw a similar pair on here quite a while back (owned by DDML I think). No secrets - I think lowering the heel can look goofy if you don't get it in block and close trim, but the combination of those three options seems to work really well when used all together. Here's the exact specs I used on Baker's. Price was like $390 and the wait was only a month. Lowering the heel does not ruin the fit or lessen the arch ease feature that White's are known for.

  6. Actually, scratch that about them being too big - they fit well I've decided. They're just too dressy for me with the frilly cap toe and the sheen of the cordovan. Not a shoe that fits enough of my wardrobe to justify the cost. For the amount these cost I need something that I'll virtually live in. I think the boondocker is more my speed. TIL I'm a 10E in White's, Viberg, Russell...

  7. I blame you for this thinfinn!! Shell cordovan cap toes.

These are supposed to be 10E, which is what I wear in White's, but these are a little too big. Looks like I'll be waiting for a pair to be made in 9.5E and try those. Not confident enough in my sizing to go the MTO route yet. Regardless, these shoes are fucking beautiful. Sadly headed back to Viberg this week.

  8. I'm a 40 in suits. My 40 Buzz Peacoat fits perfectly. The 40 RMC Peacoat fit about the same when I tried it on at BIG. The RMC felt a little heavier, but they're both pretty stiff and heavy - in a good way. I still feel the Buzz is a better value just because it's a couple hundo cheaper. I wear my Buzz pretty much every day in the winter unless it's really cold then I switch to one of my Canada Goose.
