  1. Baby powder on rim/tire has helped me in the past. Rubino is known to be ridiculous to put on, but not sure about performance or even removal. Update when you can!

Heh, well. I managed to get the tire on today without having to slather it in anything, although those are all handy suggestions and I'm going to add them to my kit. I left it on overnight and I don't know if it stretched out a wee bit or if it just helped to come back to it. Changing these by the side of the road would be a real pain in the ass.

  2. Any tips for a tight tire install? I am having a hell of a time getting a pair of 23x700 rubinos onto a set of mavic ma40s. I'm about to throw these things at the wall.

  3. no problem. i thought you were just a mashed up girl with hairy legs. all earthy and shit. like, you use those salt crystals instead of deodourant, prefer tofu and soy over real food.

This from a guy who thinks a tawny goatee and photos sitting down will hide that he's got a milkmaid's complexion and Rosie O'Donnell's figure.

  4. I am definitely over-training then.

I think I fall into a pretty big category of people who aren't disciplined enough in their diet, and feel guilty about off days.

Right now I'm lifting four times a week, and doing either long-distance cardio or judo two more.

  5. I disagree, but if you're in high school or college, I guess you could do worse. It doesn't really set any goals for itself, which I can't respect, and it's a gimmicky style of writing that I'm afraid to support because god forbid it spawns a legion of even lesser copy-cats.

Well, that's when I read it, but I still think that as far as an aesthetic project, it's pretty airtight. Difficult to ignore the gothy pop stuff, yeah, but otherwise it's to me a sort of book version of the Museum of Jurassic Technology.

And to be fair, I don't believe in regarding book based on what sort of following it may (or may not) engender.

Anyway, I'm rereading this. It's still great.

  6. Is that from Craigslist? Toronto is a gong show for bikes like that. It's a pain, but being patient pays off. Last summer I found an old Marinoni with Campagnolo components and a Cinelli BB for less than that. Pass and wait for better, I'd say.

  7. Saw a dude on UofT campus with some Fracaps, well worn denim, a White Mountaneering parka, and a Visvim 20L. You be on here?

If this person is NOT from Sufu they're going to think their life is some type of Truman Show production when they find out about it.
