  1. Outlier:

"You work out a lot. You ride your bike to work because you spent two thousand dollars on a fucking bike. Your co-workers hate you because your aluminum-free deodorant isn't cutting it. You just joined a strength lab."

-I'd believe the whole what wearing the brand is like part is Outlier's products weren't constantly sold out.

  2. Anyone have a shoulder pad for the 3A bag straps that they're looking to part with? (Or can let me know how to contact ACR direct to order one from them).

I've been alternating between my XPAC 3A-1 and 3A-3TS and I'm really wishing they came with strap pads.

UPDATE: PM received. Found my shoulder pad.

Search says the last time they were mentioned here was 2011, and to be fair their interesting pieces have been few and far between since then. Still, some nice stuff.

Great stuff toasties, any chance you know where to purchase?

  4. Here are the size specs:

    Sz. 30

    Leg opening: 11.125"

    Inseam: 10.25"

    Sz. 32

    Leg opening: 11.5"

    Inseam: 10.25"

    Sz. 34

    Leg opening: 11.875"

    Inseam: 10.25"

*I just chose those as they are the key sizes, but the style will come in a full size run, both smaller and larger.

If I had to compare the fit to something I would say it's somewhat close to a pair of Wings and Horns chino shorts.

  5. It is. There is just a low key heat seal on the leg.

No bigger than the swoosh/wordmark on the Nike tech pack.

And I agree about the branding. I think it's a little over done at times, but the corporation's gotta have it's free marketing.

  6. I have both and prefer under armour hands down. IME, either brand can be handwashed at night and worn the next day if traveling light. Being a tall dude, I prefer the length of UA and they seem to keep me cooler than the exofficios do.

So just a heads up for SS15, my department @ UA (outdoor: hunt/fish/tactical/outdoor performance) has a pair of no-sew amphibious shorts coming out. They'll be in a light khaki and camo color way.

I took them hiking in Utah @ Red Rock and Zion national park and they performed amazingly. Great fit, and you can't beat a sonic welded short with no seam allowance.

We've got some pretty cool tech pieces coming out soon so keep an eye out.

  7. Does anyone have experience with maharishi pants? Looking for additional bottoms that could work with Veilance. I am interested in the MHI custom cargo pants, but the only ones available in my size are the jasmine scented ones...How strong is this "jasmine scent" and how are the materials and build of these pants any info would be much appreciated, thanks!

Check the urban techwear thread. There was a discussion about MHI not too long ago.

  9. Does anyone have a DS-HD2 in size LG that they are looking to part with? I'm still looking to get my hands on one and I'm ready with a fair offer.

I dont care if it's in DUST or BLACK but I would like it to be in good shape.

*I know Hooper had one for sale a few pages back but he opted not to sell.

  10. Cheers for the plug @SuE.

@Tresuncool, if you go to my tumblr and check out the sites that I reblog from I think you'll be pleased.

I follow around 100 or so good tech wear blogs and share some of their posts frequently.

  11. Got my partition coat and frame LS shirt. The coat is amazing. Very understated, not too many pockets, only the exterior 2 and 1 interior. The collar has a great shape to it and the jacket even has a 2 way zipper which is one feature I've been wanting Veilance to add for a while now.

Also, it feels like they have finally aligned the coats with their jacket fit. The Anode wool coat I used to own in LG fit me more like a MD, the partition definitely feels true to size.

Still on the fence about the frame LS. Fabric is gorgeous, but the back panelling does make the wearer look like he stepped out of TRON. Fit is great on it though.

  12. Just checked the bay @Dolphinski, looks like it's an XL, and if I recall the Mionn vests and insulated styles run a bit small.

    Might work out for you.

Also, to add to the good karma. Here is a GORETEX Paclite Shadow project trench, shit is still going for cheap with 6 days left. Not my taste but I'm sure someone on here will give it a good home.

    EDIT:

This gem also showed up on the bay in MD.

  13. New bag line from NYC based company Able Archer. Nice military inspired bags using a type of molle webbing system and the (lift-the-dot) closures found on old WW11 and Vietnam era bags and pouches.

Not quite tech wear, but I think they are a nice alternative to porter, killspencer, briefing and goruck.

  14. does any1 own the veilance apparat pants? is it really worth 4 hunnit?

I just got mine a week ago. Been in steady rotation with the raw denimz and P8TS-S. The build is immaculate as one would expect from the bird. Fully taped with 6 pockets.

If you're on here then you should be more than comfortable dropping 4 bills on some pants (half the price of ACRNM by the way).

  15. I know other people have posted fits of Apparats in this thread but would like to see another if you don't mind FDOTL? I'm seriously contemplating them atm.

Not a problem. I'll get some fit pics posted this weekend. I can't recommend these enough, I'm actually considering copping the Sira grey ones as well.

  16. Heyho, first time poster here.

I´m from Germany and noticed today while browsing Haven shop that all the Veilance stuff is incredible cheap in Canada compared to the EU. For example the Composite Jacket is 695 $ = 458 € instead of 650€.

Has anyone experience in shipping Veilance stuff from Canada (taxes etc.) or is there another way to get the stuff any cheaper?

Also: What are the pros and cons of the Composite Jacket compared to the Actuator? How are your experiences with either of the jackets? The cut seems to be the same and the Actuator Jacket seems to be more weatherproof, so how does it come the Composite costs more?

So since you're in Germany, how would you feel about proxy'ing for members? If you are shoot me a PM, and we can discuss as what I want to proxy doesn't pertain to this thread.

  17.

last year I bought just the same vest at Japanese auction for $375

i am sure that he will never sell it for $ 1700

None of the over-priced pieces on ebay are moving.

The GT-J16, GT-J20 and GT-J34 that are all priced at near full retail are just sitting there. The dry skin blazer only moved after they dropped the asking price by around 300.

Also, as Nikolay said there are a bunch of inexpensive pieces on Y!JP auctions. (Mostly smaller sizes)

  18. Apparat pants just arrived. The detailing is amazing. For once having a long torso and short legs worked out for me. They actually look like normal length pants.

I'm normally a 34 but sized up a a veilance tends to run small on me. If anyone is interested ill post fit pics.

(The fit actually reminds me of my P8TS-S but with a smaller leg opening).
