  1. DAT MAHOGANY!!!

Also TTS or size up on Blazer LT?

Always size up on blazers. I'm a 42 chest and a LG in all Veilance but I buy XL in blazers. Chest measures 44" on their XL which is what a standard 42 chest blazer measures on any other brand.

@Oli8888, wait till Haven drop the Liminal for sale on their site (99% sure they will) grab their measurements and then decide. Or just email Veilance. They'll give you size specs if you ask.

  2. Hoping this hasn't been discussed here before. What is the quality and material of Cote&Ciel bags like? I've been looking at the Isar and Nile packs for a while now, but I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger because it seems to be more design over function/utility.

I have a meuse and I love it. Insanely comfortable straps. Great capacity. Quality trims and a laptop compartment that fits a 15" MBP. I take it on trips when I need more room than my ACR bags can offer as a carry on.
  3. Black Diamond really has been stepping up their game.

Also, mainline dead bird winter collection is up on the website. Looking pretty meh. Especially their 24/commute stuff is getting a little awkward.

I picked up one of their Ephus hoodys. It's a midweight hard fleece (micro ripstop outer with fleece backer). Nice stretch, fully taped and with a composite hood.

Fit is impeccable and it has  a 180 degree lift sleeve.

It looks like it was a Veilance style that the main line adopted. I highly recommend it.

  4. So I was fortunate enough to be at Outdoor Retailer last week in Salt Lake City and I was able to get my hands on the dead bird footwear.

First impressions were very underwhelming. They look just as clean and well made in person as they do in the photos, however in person they just lack that aesthetic "wow factor."

They are incredibly well made shoes as one would expect from Arc'teryx, however there is nothing that sets them apart from any other technical GORE shoes out there on the market.

I did get to walk through Black Diamond's booth as well and I must say there is some pretty impressive stuff coming out from them in FW14. They had a pretty nice Schoeller long sleeve shirt and pants that they were showing, and quite a few nice soft-shell jackets and insulated pieces. I know it's not specifically urban tech wear but the color palette was pretty refined and the Black Diamond logo is definitely one of the nicest out there.

Keep an eye out for Adidas FW14, they had some pretty interesting insulation pieces in non-offensive solids.

  5. Hey, I recently purchased a pair of Hockney's from an ebay seller in Japan. They were deadstock and never worn.

After a few days of wearing I've noticed the white midsole is delaminating from the lower back plastic heel pad as well as from the actual sole.

Is this a common occurrence with Hockney's and has anyone found a solution for this?

Just wondering if I can mend it myself or if I need to take these to a cobbler.

  6. @Shadows, can you post a picture of your Cordura 3A-1, I've never seen any of the 3A line in cordura before and Im curious what the visual is compared to xpac and the new laminate fabric.

  7. WTB: Updated: 8/22

Veilance SS13-SS12 Dyadic jacket. Hooded or non hooded I don't care. No bright colors, only interested in neutrals. Size LG

    Veilance Graph sweater size LG

    Veilance Landa1/Lanau hats

I'm willing to pay if you're willing to part with any of the above items. Trying to grab some grail pieces I slept on.

  8. Did anyone on here purchase the new Dyadic jacket from this season?

I'm tempted to grab it, but I preferred the previous Dyadic iteration, and I'm not a fan of how the knit sleeve panels wrap onto the chest. They make the jacket look a bit gorilla chested IMO.

    Thoughts?

  9. Is anyone trying to get rid of some CP slip ons?

Looking for size 44 and preferably in neutral colors line tans, blacks, grays and whites.

Would also take a pair of olive green or dark blue.

Let me know as I'm not too keen not he SS14 baby blue and red offerings.

  10. What size do you normally wear?

I'm a solid LG in all tops (with enough extra room so that they are comfortable and I can move without restriction). I usually size up to the 36 in Veilance bottoms as I find their waistbands have a slightly stiffer interlining in them which prevents stretching through wear (similar to acronym bottoms), I also prefer a slightly looser fit in the waist on bottoms and I have 25" thighs so I also have to account for that.

The apparat pants have very generously cut thighs as well. Plenty of ease and the waist is pretty TTS, I have about an inch of extra room when worn.

  11. Damn…at 5'8", I feel like a lot of veilance gear probably looks off on you, especially if your shoulders and chest are as broad as you make them out to be.

    Rant Edited.

    Anyway...

No chance you can find a local retailer and try it on in person?

On a similar note, I had a sales clerk tell me that Veilance gear is made with the Asian market in mind and is thus sized accordingly. Any truth to this?

Im a 34-35 waist with a 42 chest and I'm just shy of 6' and my Veilance gear fits me swimmingly. :P it's not just for you skinny fellas haha.
  12. So...two part post:

    1. Does anyone on here have any experience with the P11-CH. They're still in stock on the site and I'm really liking looser fitting bottoms these days.

    2. Does anyone have a second hand pair in XL they're looking to part with? PM me if you do. (I know this should go on the community sales thread but figured combining it with the other inquiry would hurt).

  13. Well after yesterday's drop and my resulting disappointment. I would love to see a tech crew/polo out of the sane dryskin used on the DS-LA3 and KA3 shirts.

The new Brugnoli cotton pieces dropped yesterday look great from a visual/patterning stance, but I cannot justify dropping 350+ US for a cotton sweatshirt. Especially when my Nike Tech pack crew and track jacket have similar articulated patterning and can accept DWR and offer more performance than regular cotton fleece. It would also be nice if they introduced a passive ventilation system especially as these pieces are SS drops. Some kind of underarm or back body mesh panels would be great to vent extra heat in the warmer months and would make the pieces much more functional.

    I'd also love to see a P9 in the 3xdry ny/co stretch.

  14. i tried on the apparat pants at the tokyo store. i wouldn't consider them summer pants. super nice regardless.

They fit extremely slim. I'm about ~31 in waist but i could barely fit into a 32. would size up for sure.

Second that. I'm a 34 and I had to size up to the 36. Gotta say the length is perfect on my short legs. I've actually got a little break at the hem.

  15. The ribbed cuffs (i.e your hands+wrists) can be kept in the waterproof pockets keeping them dry.

I just developed a DWR coated elastic for our sleeve cuffs for FW15. Water just beads right off of it and doesn't soak in like on my Isogon jacket.

  16. I will waive the 4% if payment is sent as a gift.
