  1. need a wash/soak soon. i do not want it to shrink, yet I want to lose some indigo on the denim and have nice contrast/fades. should I cold it in cold water with detergent or?

Elaborate a little, please. Is it sanforized or not? Has it already been soaked or washed before? If sanforized, just machine wash warm (30°C) inside out, no spin cycle, don't machine dry. Should turn out fine with little or no shrink. If they're stf and have been soaked, do the same, but they might shrink further. Wear wet to dry if you want to make sure they remain wearable. If they have not been soaked, then you're in a bit of a tight spot since they will shrink in contact with water, no matter how hot or cold...

  2. I'm surprised to read that original big E Type III's pop up so frequently in US thrift stores, I have never ever come across one over here, although I'd love to have one. Please, anyone, if you happen to know where to find one in XL and are willing to proxy and ship, please send me a PM!

  3. Don't worry about the 505's, if they fit you now, they will be ok. As they are made in Turkey, they're probably washed, in which case they won't shrink anyway. The 3% btw means they shrink in a wash and stretch back. Just the way all jeans do anyway.

  4. To me it looks more like the card's finish is getting "scratched". The leather is destroying the plastic's smooth finish. Just like when you slide off a car's hood with jeans.. All of my cards get that happening too. Your best bet is to store them in that paper envelope that you get with debit cards. It doesn't look cool, but then again showing your wallet insides isn't exactly a fashion statement.

I'll try the Wranglers and i guess scour the garage sales and thrift shops.

Do try the Wranglers, they are great affordable jeans and they fade nicely. Go for broken twill, very strong and comfy to wear. They come in tapered, straight and boot cut. The straight cut is my favourite.

  5. regarding the 53.... what attack said is correct, but there are also some subtle differences on originals. the early 50's had slightly different details with regard to pocket shapes and arcs as well as the leather patch. sort of a hybrid between a 47 & 55. fifties cut while retaining some 40's era details.

I actually like that idea, I love the look of the '47's but the '55's fit me better. Having a 55 with leather patch and '40's details seems very attractive idd.

  6. i believe i said a 71' 501. as to what's special about any of these models perhaps if you asked less rudely i'd tell you.

O dear sorry, I dind't mean to be rude, I wasn't even refering to your post. I did mean a 517...

But, seriously, I don't know the '53 501, what is special about it?
